How to Make Mulch - Behind the Scenes at Mike's Tree Company
Besides tree removal, pruning, inspections, and much more. Mike’s Tree Company processes its wood waste into premium shredded landscape mulch. We're very proud to recycle all of our wood waste that would normally be burned or sent to a landfill and turn it into premium mulch for our customers. This process takes time and is something we have been working on for nearly a decade to perfect in order to get the quality product we believe and stand behind. Take a tour with us as Mike, owner and visionary, walks around the yard and talks through the entire mulch making process and shows the complete operation on how mulch is made.
If you're a homeowner looking to do your own landscaping project, business needing bulk mulch or landscape company looking for a premium mulch for your customers, feel free to give us a call and we would be happy to help!

8000 yards a year x 20 per yard profit equals 160,000 profit. Then 1.5 million dollars worth of equipment plus all the extra time.. Does the mulch operation make any money or is it more of just a tax write off?

I wonder too. Obviously tax write offs don't make it free, but they do reduce the "price" by about 30% if you are taxed at that rate. They might not have anything else to do with the debris, and many towns don't want you to burn large quantities of brush. He did say they bring in about 8,000 yards of raw material, if I'm remembering correctly. The logs would probably be fluffed up about 1.5 times, and the brush would probably be reduced at 5 to 1. Unless he's getting debris from other contractors and is producing way more mulch, I don't see how such an operation would be very profitable.
