    Pretty nice result! We get about 3 cords of wood delivered each year, and last year I noticed the load was mostly hardwood. It’s usually a mix of cedar and fir. No clue what hardwood it is but given that it’s western Canada, I’d put money on maple of some sort. Gonna give it a go of cleaning and dimensioning some up, see what I get!

      Hahaha you are NOT kidding. However, compared to roughing using an angle grinder, then sand, then polishing I believe this is my fastest route. It's definitely the least labor intensive.

      @@sanlorenzo319923 yeah thought about it, but since I was outside there wasn't any dust to breath in. The sand was being pushed away from me with the compressed air blast. Just air and sand no toxic chemicals...unless you know of something that's created with burnt olive oil blasted away at high velocity?

      @@rangerbaynworkshop Silica sand produces silica dust when you break it down. Very bad for your lungs, bunch of tiny sharp glass shards basically. Officially you're not supposed to use anything but a supplied air system for using sand. Luckily there's some other materials you can load it with that are much safer.

      @jellafella6957 Whoa- I was not aware of this! Definitely will be using at least an N95 for the rest of it! Thank you for the tip! The sand I'm using is play sand from Home Depot....I assume it's the same stuff? I was thinking walnut shells, but didn't want to spend any more $ on it.

      Wow good call-thank you! Is there any type you would you recommend? I've always found gloves offer a better grip so I don't inadvertently slip. Leather, biker gloves and standard work gloves I've tried, always make me uncomfortable that either my hands or the workpiece will slip as well. Let me know if you have any you particularly like! Thanks again!

    What’s wrong with clamping a straight edge on your material. Y’all got a lot of money to burn! Some jugs are worth it! And ones like this I consider a waste. Where’s your skill??? In your craft! Huh

    Owls do not eat dead animals. Owls are not scavenger eaters and will not eat the dead remains or carcass of an animal. They cannot chew their food and generally eat both the edible and inedible parts of an animal whole. Also a larger pressure washer will make that task go much faster and cleaner. You did well with what you had.

    • @rangerbaynworkshop
      @rangerbaynworkshop Рік тому

      Thank you! Hoping to get a bigger one sooner rather than later. Actually, reasearch done by the University of Il INHS showed owls do scavange more than previously thought- esp during summer mating seasons. So it's either the 3 bard owls that live nearby, or the many snakes. Discovered a 6 foot snake a few years back just hanging out in a small sapling off my drive way!

    Dude, you need to ditch the El Cheapo 2000 psi pump, and get you something in at least the 3600+ psi range. If not 4000+ range. And preferably in the 3.5+ gal per minute volume range. Because the volume of water the pump pushes is more important than the psi. And getting a Turbo nozel helps out a lot too. It's a black one that has a ball bearing inside that spins around really fast that makes the water stream out in a single stream in a cone. In other words, the water comes out in a single at any given moment, but it's spinning so fast that it appears as a cone of water to the naked eye. Only with cameras set at the right shutter speed can catch the individual streams. But the result is you get a much more powerful cleaning effect. Your wand is way too short too. I'm assuming that it came with the pump. These low psi pumps and wands are only really meaning for auto washing. Not surface cleaning like you're wanting to do.

    • @rangerbaynworkshop
      @rangerbaynworkshop Рік тому

      Haha "EL CHEAPO" indeed! I think this thing was less that $100. Ya know I know exactly the type of nozzle you are talking about too. The more deicated powerwashing channels use it. Once finances permit I will definately upgrade, but for now since I seriously only do this once every 3 years it is very low on the priority list. Long wand is a must though. This one is so annoying. That said, while this method takes forever, I do enjoy doing it.
