    How long do you leave it in there for? Might be a dumb question but since you cover it do you hsve to worry about anything? Like gas build up or something? Never seen this before but its cool!

    • @bcdairybros
      @bcdairybros 2 місяці тому

      @@ralvis20 we like to leave it for a few months at minimum so it ferments before feeding it. We usually have everything we put up fed out in 1.5 years Grass not usually anything to worry about once it’s covered but we have had it with corn silage where we get No2 and you can’t go inside until it clears. Some people have had bunker fires where we are but it usually has to do with what they cover the plastic with. We use damp dry manure/compost so not very flammable but there’s some farms that use hay bales on top of the plastic and that’s pretty risky

    Very good except for putting soil on top of the cover! You have an oxygen barrier so two rows of tyres/gravel bags around the outside and another row across the clamp every 6m is all thet's needed.

      @@bcdairybros I understand that with the usual plastic films but you are using oxygen barrier so that won't happen. As long as you get the sealing around the edges tight and some weight on the cover you won't get rot.
