Aiming to foster a new generation of highly skilled researchers and engineers, the INSPIRE project has successfully carried out a comprehensive set of research, training, and dissemination activities. Throughout a total duration of four and a half years, from 1st March 2019 to 31st August 2023, the project has delivered excellent research outcomes (see: itn-inspire.eu/publications/) and a wide array of educational activities. Our focus has centered on the scientific field of engineering metamaterials, with a specific emphasis on the development and implementation of an innovative, holistic approach to safeguard structures against various ground-induced hazards. This protection encompasses threats such as earthquakes, as well as other sources of low-frequency noise and vibration excitations.
