@@tamarie5406 oh wow thank you so much for watching the older ones Yes I absolutely love her patterns and the easy v is a great knit my first finished colour work sweater too my last one I frogged because my knitting was so tight but it’s loosened up a lot and It’s much better now xx
I'm a relatively new sock knitter. So far I've knit a pair for my husband and have three pair on the needles. My husband's socks and two on the needles are a simple Kroy vanilla sock, and the other pair is from Steven West's sock along last year. So I don't have much to pull from. But I think I may be a top down the vanilla sock knitter, because I thoroughly enjoy knitting them.

If you have trouble with your yarn splitting, try pulling from the other end. It usually means it's twisted in the opposite direction to what you need. Pulling from the other end will tighten the twist as you knit.

As you know, practically all I knit is socks. I love the Vanilla Latte socks, Hermione’s Everyday socks and Blueberry Waffle socks - all free on Ravelry. I always do cuff down, with heel flap and gusset, but for a friend have started doing Banana socks, which are great fun. Loved your knitting - though I still think you are bonkers not just using your own yarn!! Congratulations on the 500 subscribers 👏👏 Jinny x

The rock it tee is so pretty! I love the colours you choose to do. I’m the exact same as you. There’s hair in every row of my knitting 😂 Give doing toe up socks a go. That’s why I do them so I can manage the yarn better xx

I have made the Carrie tank and my favourite sock pattern is from the magic heel sock collection and I am half way through 4 ply ones and double knit socks by Judy Jewell.

Hello! Oh wow, you have 499 subscribers now; so good! I found Tina at Simply in Stirches that you reccomended for learning to knit socks. She has a 9 video series on learning, which is perfect! The first video describes everything you need, and I will have to wait until next month, and hopefully I can get everything. And she is really nice, I like her bunches! I really want to knit socks for my family for Christmas. She teaches a " My Favorite Vanilla Socks" by The Unapologetic Knitter, for beginners. I've only knit dishcloths before, and it's been some time. So, I really still need to go back and learn the basics again. I have a lot more experience with crochet. Although, I've been crocheting on and off for 50 years, I would still consider myself to be in the beginner range. Right now I'm crocheting a really cool cotton market bag as a surprise for my mom. There are a few mistakes, and I have also had to frog several whole rows. But, it is actually coming out great; sort of. I'm working from the bottom up, and somehow I have 20 extra stitches in each row now, which by some miracle the pattern is still working out. But, when I get to the top I'm gonna have to do some math to make the handles work. I hope that made sense. You sure keep yourself busy! Your Yew Sabai top is beautiful! I hope I'll be able to knit and crochet garments. And I think you really should have labels made for your most lovely bags. I just love your bags! Do you have a website that you sell them at? And I'm looking forward to your review of needles! I need to purchase some for the socks. Tina uses 2.25 mm needles for socks, and you use so much larger of a size. She reccomends ChiaoGoo 9" 2.25mm. The connector is really short. They are only $10, and supposed to be sharp. Have you ever tried those? I don't really know what to get. Those sets of HiyaHiya needles are $100. I'm sure they are worth it, but I would have to wait until after Christmas to get those. I need to do more research for both needles and yarn. I love the gorgeous yarns you use! Sorry so long! @@staceybrister1315 hi Stacey oh that fantastic that you found Tina her sock videos are on point you’ll learn a lot from her Yes I have an Etsy shop where I sell my bags and yarns 😆 Well in my podcast I did say I used a 3.25 but I said the wrong number lol I did put it on the screen but it doesn’t stay there long lol I use a 2.25mm 9”circular the same a Tina s from hiya hiya , you can buy the needles separate you don’t have to buy the set all at once my lovely 🥰 I love to crochet too Stacey I have a battenburg blanket I’ll show in another podcast in the future I’m so happy you found what you were looking for just take your time with making socks once you have them on the needles you’ll live knitting them xx yes I like fish kis lips heel it’s a great pattern and for £1 on Ravelry 👍🏻 Let me know how you get on with learning to knit socks you can also message me on instagram im there as yewtree_yarncraft as well Stay well my lovely and thank you for watching xx

Lovely makes and yarns. You do know blankets don’t count as WIPs don’t you 😂 I like just a good old vanilla tbh, shows the yarn off. Also love banging out a tube sock as it’s great for travel and not needing to worry about counting and when to stop. Congrats on your 3 years 😊

Enjoying you videos as I have only just found you I will have to go back to some of your older videos too. My favorite socks to make are the vanilla sock as I like to use stripey yarn and a pattern just would get lost.

Congratulations on your 3 year podiversary 🎉 It was a lovely surprise to see my pattern, that was my first pattern release. I hope you enjoy it. It’s a simple pattern but my version 1 and version 2 are my most worn scarves. It’s hard to choose a favourite sock pattern but I have knit a couple of pairs of the Bookshelf Socks by Beccy Mundy, at the moment I’m trying my first pair of colourwork socks.

aim your camera to the front of the machine rather, why the back of it? and then when you are pulling your fabric out of the back of the machine ( why? your feed dogs do that work ) your arm is in the way.

Can’t believe I only found your podcast recently! Totally my thing. Beautiful giveaway . Socks - my favourite has to be the basic Winwick Mum one as it is the one I have knit most . I’ve knitted several others such as Bubble Socks but I always have a pair of basics on the go that are great to just pick up and knit. Thanks for sharing 😊

Just discovered the Finchley graft which is great. So now knitting cuff down and like my favourite vanilla socks from the unapologetic knitter. I decided I’d start to watch your podcasts from the beginning and discovered my project bag is famous, it takes the staring role in the ‘how I make a project bag’ podcast. Re:- socks, I like the patterns in the Rowan Sock Collection book. Diane have you ever thought of sewing a tag into your project bags advertising who make them, helps to spread the word, particularly if the bag is given as a present. Hello lovely lady, I found you about a year ago I think. I might just have been tempted to buy a few bags again 😂. They never go wrong. I've only ever knitted one pair of socks and that was probably about 10 years ago. So honestly I would have to say Vanilla socks. I was going to try again this year but so far haven't got round to it.

Hi, three years and I've only just found you. Enjoyed you video and need to watch your earlier flosstubes to catch up. Also new to sock knitting and the ones I'm knitting at the moment are from a book called Custom Socks by Kate Atherley. Just a basic vanilla really, with yarn by West Yorkshire Spinners called Wood Pigeon. Nearly finished and looking good. I have no idea yet about different heels, but I'm learning all the time. My favourite sock pattern ive knit so far is the petal drop socks by Florence miller ❤ ive actually been mainly knitting on socks this week. A test knit colourwork pair and a vanilla pair from the sock project book. I’m trying to find my perfect fit 😊

Congratulations on your 3 years, looking forward to the next 3+. I have knitted my way through many, many sock patterns, I knit upwards of 40 pairs a year. I have to say that my favourite is the one on my needles, no matter which one it is. I do chose the pattern to suit the yarn and as I love colour it is often vanilla or something simple such as Hemiones every day.

I'm an early subscriber - congratulations on three years podcasting!!!!!!!!! I can only basic knit so it would have to be a basic vanilla sock in a pretty variagated/speckled yarn to show the yarn off. xx

Great video! It was so nice to see you in your knitting nook - the crochet blanket on your chair is gorgeous 😍 It’s a great idea to add your makes into the podcast. Although I usually tend to do Blueberry Waffle socks. I have recently made a pair of Rye socks by Tin Can Knits, and Vanilla Latte socks - both free on Ravelry. The giveaway is a brilliant prize.
