Welcome to BackDoorFab_in the shop. On this channel, I will be showcasing my products, builds, and how to instruction videos for my DIY product line
I grew up with a "fix it not replace it" mind set from my grandfather, as well as a MIH ( make it happen ) attitude. Everything I do is self taught and I have dedicated my adult life into my shop, skill set, and business.
Come along for this part of my adventure as I'm always trying learn or get better at everything I'm doing. I'm always open to improvement or finding better ways to do things as I have learned it all from doing it the hard or wrong way first.

Can you keep 02 leafs for an 08-11 rear axle?
good video but the vertical video for the handheld stuff is driving me crazy
7:55- do you know what tire cupping is?
So what year and model would i need to find a dana 60 front and dana80 single rear wheel. Good video and thank for the help. I would be doing a square body chevy dually swap to a single rear wheel

for the track bar i made a mount to flip the mount to the top on the axle and it eliminates bump steer. i have more lift but should work the same and makes a huuge difference
The coil sprung frames were braced behind/around the coil towers so they didn’t buckle. Most that talk bout the swap say it should be done so disaster doesn’t strike . They say the leaf sprung frames werent as strong /stiff. The coil springs have a lot of angle on them like when the radius arms are short or no dropped down enough . If it rides funny that’s why .

Yes ! sooner than later , currently testing the kit and designing the track bar bracket so you don't need a adjustable track bar can use the factory one, look me up on FB or IG @backdoorfab
What did you use for paint on the rails/frame?
what are you using for the welding? flux core, Gas?
So the torch heat is helping to remove bolts etc. Or did you actually need to cut off items?

Since the Excursion is basically the same, would your kit work on a 2001 2wd Excursion with the turbo 7.3?
I cant 100% confirm as I haven't seen one in person but in theory it should be all the same
@@BDF_in_the_shop The Excursion is just a big SUV body on a F250 frame. The front of my excursion already has the brackets for leaf springs, but I want a solid axle and coil springs. My excursion has the TTb front end.

Does The newer style leaf spring move the axle forward?! If so what did you do about the drive shaft or was there enough play in the shaft that it fit?!
Not that I noticed , no mods to the drive shaft other than swapping on the flange yoke

How did the ride quality turn out, love the SD content.
Front is awesome way better , rear I cant really say as I feel the add a leaf's stiffens it up a bit and added say bar , plus the fact I'm on my 5 pack over loads pretty quick , i did haul my 10.6 camper the other day and it was amazing !

I aways just weld the larger gears to the 3rd member and leave the smaller spiders out! And this is just for wheeling right?

Well you already just playing with the toy obviously you could have made a better choice
Why would you even weld this when you can just go buy a differential seems like a terrible way to get a locking diff
