Idk man I have some pvs 5s and I’ve never seen them this dark not even inside, are these like actual 1970 first gens? I honestly wasn’t aware there was anything before the pvs5 that was like man wearable, I know they were fooling with starlight’s back in ww2 and stuff but I thought pvs 5 was the first
@@Najsnwjsbdn the PVS-5 is 2nd Gen
@@alamo_night_vision mmmmm as far as I can tell there’s only one set and it was the su-50 in 71 and then in 72 it was tweaked to the pvs5 with less than 500 issued, really they were just experimental. Pvs5 is the first mass issued wearable nvg, psv5s are first gen man.
@@Najsnwjsbdn I don’t know where you got your education, but you should ask for your money back. PVS fives are generation two buddy been doing this for 12 years and I’ve had three sets of my own
@@alamo_night_vision I mean I’m not tryna be a jerk or anything im just ask in man. definitely wondering if you know what the first gen nvgs are called, info on this stuff has been real hard for me to find. I have a set of 5cs and some “red phosphor” 7s but I’ve been trying really hard to figure out anything legitimate on earlier stuff. I’ve always wanted to try and find some of those mythic dycinin reds but nobody knows anything, I’d appreciate some help man
@@alamo_night_vision like I’m aware of the panzers and the starlight stuff and like first gen nvs, but as far as I’ve been able to read online about nvgs specifically I read they tested somewhere between 250-1500 su51s around 71 before the og pvs5 came out in 72. If you have any info i definitely would appreciate it man, especially anything about those infamous dycyanin reds
hello, it seems a very cool idea. A good thing for me (and so many others) would be a 90° 2 pin fisher connector for sionyx opsin. And it would may be not ITAR restricted.
"Holy sh-" was my reaction
What are the specs of the gen 3 ?
@@StevieTheBush OMNI 8. Contract
@@alamo_night_vision Thx
what was the counterweight plate you inserted?
I couldn’t tell you. I got it with something years ago.

This is a cool idea, I have a few hundred CR123As and thought about picking up a battery pack for my DTNVS but this might be a better idea to pick up just in case
are you using the executive dtnvs battery cap?
@@cwp86 Yes I am
Solid product 👌
That’s gen 0. Gen 0 is the ones completely dependent on infared, gen 1 is alright tubes and gen 2 and on is great tubes. I’ve looked through Soviet PNV-57e (gen 1, some people say 2) and a PVS-7 (gen 3) and the difference was noticeable but you could still identify what objects were with the Soviet stuff. It’s not as good but it gets the job done
@@Lilroman124 this is very true, I 100% agree with you. But unfortunately, these companies market them as generation one
I want gen3
just picked up my first gen 3 green phos pvs14 super happy with it!!
he said night and day difference 😉😂😂😂
Price?
New outlast part
How much is the gen3
😂Olala!
the gen 3 white phospher is more clear .
Btw you can get a purpal lens filter to put over green phos to make it look similar to white phos to save a little bit of money but definitely get white phos if you can. I love my pvs-14
That is nowhere near the same. The color gets close, but the filter blocks a lot of photons
@@alamo_night_vision yea I was going to say it’s not the same
Green more contrast
Gen 3 allot better
Yo, anyone else who noticed the pokestop? 😂
One thing that the white seems to have is more distinctive depth, the green trees look flat but with the white they look more 3D
Now show us in Vietnam Red 😂😂😂
I’m too scared to
Darker green seems less eye fatigue
How is there shadows if it's dark??
ambient lighting.
Holy shit, you’re the reason people should have to pass an IQ test to use the Internet.
You lose 3 internet points for posting this
I like the white better, probably easier to adjust your eyes quicker looking back and forth through the lens and not .
Yeah that’s what I was thinking
I fully agree it seems to have less shadow.
"and this, is Genera-" *FLASHBANG* - What i thought would happen
Green is garbage fuckin hated 14s

4k for nvg is wild💀
I find these videos to be so interesting. I think i was accidently sold a gen3 instead of a gen 2. I have yet to encounrer a situation where i needed an illuminator in order to see with my pvs14. Maybe its cause its wp? Idk i new at this
Gen-2 is MUCH closer to Gen-3. The jump from Gen-1 to Gen-2 back in the Early 70s was HUGE. Gen-2 does however fall short compared to Gen-3 in other ways, Such as EAGC, Auto Gate Technology's & and the use of a Gallium Arsenide Photocathode.
The gen one is more like gen .5
That’s badass
I love my gen 3 green phos
I have gen1. Still better than nothing, good at dusk. But sure i would love to have gen3 :D too poor to have one. At least i have strong illuminator. I must look like giant lighthouse to other NVs. :D Awesome for night walks in woods. Once helped us with searching for one old lady with alzheimer that was lost. She just walked away from her house.
Yea that is the literal definition of night and day difference
Unfortunately, the prices are day and night too. Too bad. Cuz I like it.
A 1960’s car vs a 2000 is much different too lol. Gen 2 to 3 would be more interesting
Whats the price?
So whats next? Comparison between a Ford model A and a Tesla?
Does it have that switching sound? PrrZzzzRrt
Hahahah. Ya L3 auto gating tubes. Do have a little ring when they turn on.
My Gen 2 is better than that Gen 3. Sorry, but people really need to start taking their heads off the "Gen" talking points and actually underrated what makes a nod good.
Your “Gen” 2 use a gallium arsenide photo cathode? I don’t think you know what you’re talking about dude. Generation two technology has been dated since the 1980s.
As simple as that😊
What’s the manufacturer that makes them them?
The Gen 1 was an Armasite Spark. And the Gen3 was a TNVC L3 Thinfilm Omni 8 PVS-14
Whats a great price for a gen 3 pvs 14 with a figure of merit of 1800 to 2000 and diapture of at least 72???
That really depends if you want green or white phosphor. You should not spend more than $2000 on a green unit and for white can be anywhere from 2800 for a really good deal on some Elbit tube’s or $4000 plus for L3 unfilmed tubes.
@@alamo_night_vision I'm having a very difficult time finding a Gen 3 green unit for anything under 2500, where are good deals at???
@@MOAON_AABE U.S. ONLY Night Vision & Thermal (on Facebook ) Also, sometimes steel Industries will have refurbished used units for sale. On their website .If you buy from the Facebook group just be vigilant there are sometimes scammers.
@@alamo_night_vision thanks for the advice my friend!!!
@@alamo_night_vision where would I get a 2000$ GP unit? I can't find that anywhere
Not all gen 1 need IR illuminators. I have a Stargate M from Newcom Optik and it works rather well without an illuminator. My gen 2+ pvs14 is still significantly better.
Digital > Gen 1 night vision
Gen 1 requires IR lights to work. Not super effective in tactical situations, especially if you suspect the enemy has their own NVG’s. BUT, install a few IR lights facing out around your house, and not only will you be able to see decently with your Gen 1’s from your windows in a dark house, but you get the added benefit of blinding people looking towards your house with their Gen 1’s. Super cheap, super easy, fairly effective for home defense.
Imagine being this paranoid. Burglarly is a crime of opportunity, someone needing a couple hundred to get by isnt going to be kitted out. If the military is on its way with a purpose, night vision might catch the tail of the hellfire missile
That's actually a really good idea. At first I skeptical of finishing the comment until u said use it to blind ppl try7ng to look in with analog
@@pepepantuflas1who the hell is after you guys that would be using NVGs??
@Kilo-sz4ch moosad. I can't tell u why , but they legitimately messing with me and it's honestly annoying. They want me to know they messing with me.
@@pepepantuflas1 where do you live and what have you done to get the mossad after you? I just saw what you said about not being able to say why mb
Love my PVS 14 👍. Worth every $
How much did you spend your gen 2 or 3 and was it green or white?
@@MOAON_AABE gen 3 white.. very good quality. There are different PVS models. Get the best you can afford …. Great tool! $4000 for PVS get the good mount too and swing arm add $700. $1000 helmet level 4 you have $7500 on your head quick..
@@NoneyaTexasontheback20 I've got my kit from the Marine Corp , all I couldn't smuggle home was NVG and so your saying 4000$ is a good price for gen 3 Pvs 14s, that seems really high, what about gen 2?
