DIY batting cage cheap 40 x 12
Переглядів 97 тис.7 років тому
Batting cage diy backyard 40' cheap easy nice local fence supply or box store will have the fittings and the one I used is not the only one that will work. Net link www.amazon.com/Baseball-Batting-40x12x10-Twisted-Opening/dp/B00NX6CPVU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503520355&sr=8-1&keywords=40x12 batting if you are going to angle your poles it is a very very very slight angle
What were exact dimensions for the frame width and length? I have same size net and will be using same set up but Wood instead! Did you do 12ft wide with poles and exactly 40ft long
Hey, my feeder is 2.1 miles tall. What should I do? Thanks!
Is the net high enough for clearance? Looks like you need to throw a hundo to make it 50 ft.
how much did it cost to do this?
Yep only way ive found to keep em off my feeders is electric fencing
what gage of pole did you use?
What is the clamp on the pole?
Did you use any concrete
Did you have to pay extra for the left handed L-screen. Just kidding I’m not that dumb, but I figured someone had to ask.
AWESOME! ABSOLUTELY WORKS!! I've now installed on 4 feeders. I have tried so many things including chicken wire, grease, slinky etc. Thank you for the idea! Corn is now $10/40lbs. This will save $$$ in the long run.
Nice work!
what is the diameter of the posts?
That fitting that you use to connect the turnbuckle what is it called?
Looks like lots of fun, I’m curious if you concreted your poles in. I have 16 foot poles and I was thinking about driving them in the ground about 5 foot.
Nice Job, and very well done thank you ....
Thank you too!
that is awesome
Si
This is exactly what I mentioned to my wife today. Racoons are wiping out my feeders.
A slinky on each leg tied to the top and dangling down is alot simpler! Try it!
Or a 2' section of 2" pvc .
@@bradfordpearce4441 The coons destroyed the slinkys
Yeah but no shock value 😂
How deep did you set your poles and did you set it in concrete?
What would you say was your total overall cost?
still cant find 112ft poles at any fence supply
What size pipe/post did you use
What size post did you use?
I believe 2-5/8 × 12' tall
I think
What gauge?
Where did you buy them?
That batting cage looks awesome! Did you know that you can list your cage on cagelist.com for FREE and make money renting it out to local players? We are the AirBNB of backyard batting cages!
Sounds like you have done line work when you talking about leaving the poles laid back. I build power lines and we do the same as far as cheating a pole back when it’s not guyed.
So how much all together?
I went to Home Depot to get some poles but they only had 10 1/2’s. Where did you get the 12 foot poles? And when I get to 12 foot poles how deep should I bury them? 2 feet I’m guessing??
Got mine at fence supply place
I might have gone 2 to 3 ft deep
AskErl 101 thanks bud 👍
@@askerl1015 Did you put concrete in the holes by the pole to keep it sturdy, or could you get away with filling with gravel and sand?
Awesome set up !
Where did you get the poles and how much did you pay?
Fence supply, it's been a while so I don't remember.
@@askerl1015 do you remember the being out expensive or cheap? Like $30 or $100
I would love to set up something like this for my son, a couple of questions. Can it be left out all year long and withstand the weather year round, and how do you go about trimming the grass on the inside of the cage?
i have left ours up since building it.. i pitched to my son just the other day.. the poles tend to pulled in if the ground gets really dry, but i just used some auger type anchors and small ratchet straps to straighten it up and pull the slack out.
OH, trimming is not fun, but doable.. i can just lift up with one hand and weed eat with the other..
That is an awesome cage setup. Nice work
You said cheap 5 times! How cheap was it?
Total about 440.00
AskErl 101 you can buy one not home made for that how is that cheap dumb ass 😂
400 ish with net and all..
@@bigal9424 tell me where you can get one with frame this size?
@@bigal9424 why so crass man? So emotional 😢
sry for slow response. i don't know the name, just anything that will bolt that can be adjusted to the poles and hold the i bolt.
what is the name of the mounting brackets you used?
Where you buy the net?
Amazon.. i thought there was a link. good luck
at 40 ft, can you use a pitching machine? with real balls? or is it too close for the batter to react to
I do.. its a bit tight, if you can go longer, do it.
AskErl 101 ok thanks! would 48 ft be any more use or are you talking 55/60 length
Nice batting cage I like it
What type of poles are they? Diameter, length?
14' poles
What size cable? 1/8?
Where did you get them. I cannot find 14 ft anywhere?
@amyadamson9654 I'm looking too. Let me know if you have any luck. I may just cut down a post thread it sink it in the ground then use a coupler for the above ground section. That would make it more module if I ever need to repair
