as a kid i went to an antroposophical school in the netherlands. i guess it was eucomenical in nature but with a lot of jewish and christian stories and traditions. one thing i fondly remember is this song, i havent heard it in 35 years ! as children we would sit in a circle and sing this song, and pass a stone around. i still dont know what the meaning is, and they never taught me the meaning of this song nor the lyrics. but its one of my strongest memories of school as a kid.

Sounded just as beautiful when I attended this evening.

That was such a special gift for Dad - to have the choir sing to him and honor him with a concert. He was dying of Pancreatic Cancer and this was his last hurrah! He climbed into the hospital bed there, in that room, after that wonderful in-home concert and died 10 days later.

Having heard the Welsh Coal Miners' Choirs sing this with many times the voices, I have to say that, though the power and grandeur of a lot of voices may bring tears to the eyes, the simple, clean, clarity, and purity of these voices stacks up well. Beautifully done. Thank you.
