    Just watched Transformers: One last night at the UK premiere, and I honestly have to say is *HOLY PRIMUS, THIS WAS THE BEST TRANSFORMER MOVIE IVE EVER SEEN!!!* Everything from the amazing animation, the visuals, the fight scenes, the music, the story, and the incredible voice performances by Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry as Optimus and Megatron, both Peter Cullen and Frank Welker would be incredibly proud. I truly loved the character designs in Transformers One, and seeing their designs become more crisp, clean, and polished was a great detail.

      @FreeSTYLEoriginal Mmhm, I remember hoping that the trailers giving away that Cooper was a serial killer was hiding a real/other twist. We had some cool ideas coming out of the theater, but I wasn’t mad at this one 👍🏼

    2:09 - was that explicitly stated in the movie? Because I always seen Rein* as a gay character who has feelings for the pregnant girl in the movie. So I guess if it is stated that that guy was her ex boyfriend, we know why

      I would definitely have to rewatch the movie to give you specifics BUT FROM WHAT I RECALL from watching it twice it's HEAVILY IMPLIED (the information is online as well, but just focusing on what's in the film). When we first see Rain meeting up with the crew we see photos and it's implied that they were close. In the same scene Kay tells Rain that she missed her and "and I know my brother missed you too". There are a few moments throughout that imply their intimacy and from Rain's reactions I FELT like it was very much reading as exes. To be honest though, I can see where you're coming from but I read it more as close friends or sisters via Rain's (past) relationship with Tyler. I actually really wish if this was the intention for Rain and Kay to be more (imo I don't think it was but IF it was) that it was more explicitly shown because representation in a movie like this would have been incredible.

      @@A.Rocket.Review I seen her brother missing Rain because he has always kinda had a crush on her but Rain isn't fully out yet and has more feelings for his sister than she does him. She might even be with him and closeted but actually pining for his sister. But as you say, I would also need to rewatch it. Great reply btw, was worried at the end of your comment it was going to go off on a tirade of silly "GAY PEOPLE IN FILMS IS STUPID INCLUSION" lmao Good video too!!! Keep it up

      Omg, I'm glad you like my response and honestly if I was coming at it from that POV then I would need someone to check up on me! I am all for representation, diversity and telling more stories than what's become "the standard"! 🙌🏼 I think your impression is totally valid! I read online that AFTER the film was released people were wondering if Bjorn was the father of Kay's baby and I was like "wtf are they talking about" but it was something that was implied (and later confirmed by the director). It was something I didn't catch at all. I'm rambling a little but my point is I can see where your coming from and Rain's intense care and focus on Kay could be seen as more than just friends! I really appreciate that and your comments! I love seeing other people's takes, thoughts and opinions! 🤗

    i saw it. i think that while the story was ok, it was in the wrong setting. My friends and i went to see this movie to see more world building with the death angels and their origin. we already know about their sensitive hearing, etc. but this didn't really expand much on that. they're just...there. and in the movie, there seems to be some sort of strategy the military had figured out by having the helicopters flying in circles and the monsters chasing them but can't get to them. why not just keep doing that? or have boats on different sides of the island sounding their horn to keep the monsters confused and going back and forth? at the end, the monsters seem to know that water is at the end of the pier and don't jump into it for some reason. seems off. also, they know the sounds attract the monsters so the boats continue to blow their horns because....and then we don't see monsters escape long island. so, how'd they destroy the world? they kind of touch on it with taht section where they're eating eggs? or something? but they don't explore further. again, i didn't mind the story but they didn't build the world or story which is what this movie tried to advertise itself as - an origin story for the monsters. instead, we just see the meteors come and that's it. also, that cat was basically the cause of most of their issues.

    • @A.Rocket.Review
      @A.Rocket.Review 2 місяці тому

      I can totally understand being okay with the story but NOT THE SETTING. I think it's interesting because I literally was telling my bf when we left the theater that I like when franchises branch out (within reason and if it works with the concept). The example I gave him was the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) [ex. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Black Panther, etc.] when they branch out of more than just a superhero movie. ✨I agree with so much of what you're saying here but exploring these elements at all would have taken away from Sam and her journey so that's why I wasn't feeling one way or another about these things.✨ I also totally understand why people expected more world building than what we've gotten so far. AND YES I SAW COMMENTS LIKE THAT people wanted more of the military side because they were mobilizing WELL BEFORE we see the first Death Angel landing. I think more on that would have been interesting because they really could have kept flying around making noise while the boats collected as many survivors as they could. At that point in the movie (if I'm remembering right) that was the last boat so I'm sure one (or more) Death Angels actually went into the water, I assumed that the others learned they suck at swimming, haha. The sound on the boat is something that would have been interesting to see too. The conflict of knowing they need to reach any survivors but they have to make noise to alert them but also knowing that noise will drawn the Death Angels. I think they were able to spread because they actually landed all over the Earth and not just New York. I understood the "eggs" as their food source? like a plant they were eating. I definitely agree though, they didn't explore that further and I wish they did. Yessss! I wish the advertising was different because it's definitely giving DAY ONE and WHERE IT STARTED and WHY THE WORLD WENT QUIET. Like, we know/we can assume with context a lot of this already. The opening with the meteors is so good too, I just feel like we were sold more of that kind of action and intensity and we deeeefinitly got something else! 😅 Yo, you are so right. There were more than a couple of moments where I was thinking she needed one of those cat backpacks or a new leash or SOMETHING 😺 THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENT AND SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS! 😊✨ Edit: Sorry it got a little lengthy there, I LITERALLY have no one to talk to about movies! 😅

    • @supermodestmouse
      @supermodestmouse 2 місяці тому

      @@A.Rocket.Review no worries. Appreciate the effort to post a review and discuss. You're right - I forgot that in a flashback in the first one, they show the meteors hitting all over the world. So it wasn't just on long island. But it still seems like a stretch to go from, aliens attacking to let's abandon the most populated place in the america, esp without some sort of action, fighting, strategy. They've shown that they can't fight against air and seem to blindly (pun intended) follow the air support making noise so why did that strategy fail? The us has the ability to keep aircraft in the air almost indefinitely while they figure out a counter offensive. Also, I wish they would have shown people making subconscious noise (burping, snoring, etc). How do you control that? Or when she gasps, or is coughing, that's not enough to draw attention? Like I said, I think this had a lot of potential, but the character growth of learning to live again against the losing alien invasion seemed to be off for my friends and I. Just wish it had been able to realize it's full potential. Finally: glad the cat survived. But when the guy saw it when he emerged from the subway (for some reason), I figured it was the pixie from Zelda that couldn't die.

    Not quite as good as Fury Road but still good. Woke IS bad in movies, especially when it's constant preaching and you're taken out of the story. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was boring for me. Will be interested to hear your opinion.

    • @A.Rocket.Review
      @A.Rocket.Review 2 місяці тому

      I agree that Fury Road is better but Furiosa is still a good movie! I think WOKE and the conversation around it is a slippery slope in life and in media. I don't think it's a bad thing, I think it's important to be aware and inclusive but, again, it's a slippery slope. I do think that it can be bad in media but not for reasons I think a lot of people online complain about, I think it's fine for media to reflect society. I think a movie having a woman lead is not inherently bad but when it comes to bad writing and storytelling (or constant preaching) around being woke THEN I think there's something there with the conversation. Oh man, don't get me started on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, haha. I'm going to watch it again and put together a video for this week 👏🏼

    A slight step down from Fury Road, but still fun. It weared off more towards absurd comedy, for the large part thanks to the Hemsworth"s performance of the Dementus character. I feel that the franchise still idealizes and empathizes with females in general, while picking on and satirizing the 'male society'. In other words: men are generally bad with a few good apples; women are generally good with a few bad apples.

    • @A.Rocket.Review
      @A.Rocket.Review 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, definitely! Even in the theater I had fun but i really needed that rewatch at home. I totally agree on the absurd comedy and honestly it totally worked for me, haha. Fury Road had plenty of absurd elements so I didn't bat an eye when it came to Dementus. I think that's a solid take that I honestly didn't even think about. I can also see how that messaging could rub people the wrong way but I think it's an interesting conversation to have and something that we don't see (not that we don't see it at all but) often enough. Thanks for your comment and sharing your thoughts!!

      @CH-fp6gj Місяць тому

      There are several bad women in Furiosa, you could argue Furiosa is even a bad for helping Imortan Joe. I think for the most part George Miller is way more even handed than most of the movies we have been getting. The wasteland is an inhospitable place where people have to do horrible things to survive. Fury Road is Furiosa’s redemption story.

    • @alexxx4434
      @alexxx4434 Місяць тому

      @@CH-fp6gj All "bad" women are depicted in "men's world", as if they had to adapt to the bad environment to survive. I think Millers might have a stereotypical gender thinking: women have default good innate traits, opposed to men's default bad, toxic innate traits. There are also direct implications that it's men's fault the world of Mad Max had nuclear apocalypse. I know such clear dichotomy might make a good drama, but it's idealistic and not how real world works. Gender is not directly liked to good or bad personality traits, both genders can have either. Society may put certain roles and attributes to genders but even then it's not guaranteed and clear cut as in the movie.

    Great review & breakdown! I was pretty excited for this film and was extremely disappointed by it. I went into it with higher expectations than I should have but that’s because I really enjoy the stranger films especially the original but this one felt like it was a watered down version of the original. Production wise the film looks great. Definitely felt like a bigger budget film but at the same time it lost some of the qualities that made the original special in my opinion. The original film had moments of pure silence that worked well along with the strangers toying with the couple by scraping metal outside, beating on the doors and windows, I didn’t feel like that was present at all in chapter 1. I really didn’t like the characters in chapter 1 because they made some really horrible mistakes. The couple in the original wasn’t perfect but holding the gun to the strangers head for over a minute absolutely took me out of the movie. I don’t know why that scene was even written 🤦🏻‍♂️ I know it’s just chapter 1 out of a trilogy but what a rocky start 😅

      Thank you so much! 😊 I think it's interesting when they do these reimagines/reboot/remake when the source material is so good and they CHOOSE to do something else. I totally agree! The movie looks good, it definitely looks quality but it lost that kinda low budget gritty realness. AGREED AGREED! I also kinda feel like there were so many moments in Chapter One where they were messing with us as an audience. Yoooooooooooooooo! I hated that part so muuuuuuuuuuch and you're totally right, it took me out of the movie too. How it was written and it got through all those people to end up in the final cut. Mmhm, I feel like I have to keep reminding myself of that, throughout the video and STILL TO THIS DAY. I feel like every time I complain about something a small voice in the back of my head is saying "maybe the next two movies will explain/make it better". I dunnoooooooo. We'll see 🤞🏼😬😅

So we get kinda what Paul is seeing in Part One as this ethereal beauty and all that and then we see her as a more realized character. She is a warrior with a deep love for her people, she's grappling with her role in a prophecy that she doesn't believe in (on top of the whole prophecy happening around her), she loves Paul and then that "JELOUSY" [✨I INTERPRETED AS✨] her realizing that Paul is falling in to the very thing he assured he would not. Buuuuuuut she can also be a jealous chick with no depth or personality that's just there with no substance to her and the only thing she IS there for is to be a love interest . . . if you see her that way and that's totally fine. You have your opinion and I have mine 😊

    The only growth, or change in Chani is her love of Paul, nothing else. She was the exact same in the end as she was in the beginning with added jealousy.

      @gilpineda I absolutely agree. The original, like I said in the episode, is in a league of its own and Chapter One doesn't even compare! 😤 This relaunch is definitely not off to a good start but we'll see what Chapter Two adds when it comes out later this year. I loved it. Barbie was the first Ryan Gosling movie I have seen, and I worked in a theater. I am 78. I have now seen all of his movies. He has never been typecast. I am reading "Project: Hail Mary" and an not a fan of Sci-Fi, but I love it and it seems to be written for Ryan Gosling. I can see him on every page.

    The 2 weirdest comments I have seen made. A woman who went to one of the openings said, "there were just too many stunts". I commented, "well, the movie is ABOUT STUNTS" and to think there needs to be fewer is nuts. The other one was really off the wall nuts. It was a man and said he left after 20 minutes because Jody was supposed to be seductive, and Emily is 41 and shows it. To begin with Jody is the director and not supposed to be seducing her staff and Emily looks great, especially for someone over 40.

    • @A.Rocket.Review
      @A.Rocket.Review 2 місяці тому

      I think it's always interesting to see people's comments when (i think) a movie is marketed clearly. I think the trailers made it clear it was going to be heavy on the stunts, haha. I could go on and on . . . and on about that comment about Jody and men objectifying of women in film/general BUT I WONT. She is older and it shows but, I agree, she looks amazing! I just can't believe someone commented on that, that's wild! And you're totally right, is she supposed to run around HER OWN MOVIE SET seducing people? 😂😂

    No one points out the long sleeve white shirt that Ryan wears when they have the seen with the garbage truck. I noticed that across the large letters it said "union" in cursive and I knew one was an "A", but couldn't decide on the other. I also noticed that it said "solidarity" down the left arm and "union strong" on the other. I finally when looking at the costuming found which union it was referring to and it is The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

    The wonky CGI, based on the budget it was given, maybe less than $15 million, won the Oscar for best VFX. It’s also the only film I have seen more than any other film, including The Minus Color, to make it a five times viewing in the theater.

      The CGI in this movie is great for the budget, I think I mentioned that a few times. What I thought looked wonky were the tanks. Even though that's what they looked like for the era, they just look wonky imo. obv the filmmakers put the budget where it counted and yes, the movie won an Oscar, after I posted this video 😬

    i saw the film honeslty its really bad i think it had some good ideas like the villain but most of whats done hear is so poorly exicuted from the weard ghost romance that made no sence or the villain having no way to actualy enter our world except relying on the ghostbusters tech to do so let alone way to much focus at to wide of a cast even the second team keeping things secret from the team makes no since. its a hard recommendation if your not a hardcore fan and even then i might more suggest wait for dvd or streaming as afterlife was leagues better then this tho the actors did a good job it was a writing issue that messed up this film

      OKAY I WASN'T GOING TO MENTION IT BUT SINCE YOU BROUGHT IT UP I didn't want to spoil anything but I WISH they explored the "ROMANCE" better or made it an actual/obvious romance. I felt like there wasn't enough there to honestly justify the way that played out. I would wait for streaming too but honestly I wasn't being super critical (I feel like you can tell if a movie is going to be good right away) and I had fun. I definitely agree though!

    This is why Jake Sully and Paul Atreides are the same person. The divide in the faith is seen in both islam and christianity and the divide was planted into the Fremen where Paul was sent to destroy their culture. Atreides itself sounds like traitorous because they use kindness as a weapon. And they made sure the Fremen were stamped by a boot for all eternity.

    Let's start with the bloody joke of an antagonist that makes 90s terminator 2 villain look like a nightmare. I sincerely didn't find anything funny in the movie. That being said, I still enjoyed the movie because there hasn't been a superhero movie in such a long while and bcz I still find Dakota hot. Unfortunately, even Ms. Marvel is a better movie on 2 many levels imho. To sum everything about it in a single line - It's like the first episode of a fixed budget television series with very sub standard editing. Hopefully Dune 2 in a week shall not disappoint. Thank you for your honest review. Guys please subscribe and support her.

      The "antagonist" was sooooo bad I couldn't believe it. I honestly thought the ADR was going to be the worst of it but when I watched the movie I gotta say it wasn't JUST the ADR the acting wasn't there and the character just isn't well written at all. 😂😂😂 Dakota hot is a valid reason! I think she is a good part of a bad movie, her acting and her delivery of some lines was so dry and flat she had me laughing so much in the theater. I absolutely agree though, it was giving TV show and honestly I wished they leaned into that and actually made it a series. THAT I think would have given them more room to do at least the proper origin stories the director was so worried about stuffing in to one movie. AYO I HEARD DUNE IS THE BEST MOVIE OF THE DECADE LIKE LORD OF THE RINGS GOOD AND I HAVE HIGH HOPES! 😭 Thank you so much for your support and taking the time to comment! It means a lot! And I am always dropping my thoughts even if the movie isn't the best, hahaha!

    The Mean Girls movie came out before I was even born, and I never saw it growing up. Since I’m a musical fan and have been in a couple, I went with a friend to see this because why not? In my opinion, this film is getting way too much flack for the most minor things. I would’ve never even cared to see the Broadway musical or original film if not for this! This is exactly the point of remakes! They did a creative spin on the original movie (i.e. making it a musical) and modernized for kids now to enjoy and appreciate the story. By no means is it a perfect film, but it’s just so fun and ridiculous, I don’t understand how people can hate it so much. People complain about remakes all the time, but when a decent one actually comes out, they still complain about it. Like dude, it’s a musical! It’s supposed to be campy! That’s literally the point of a musical. I think it does a good balance of real and ridiculous. Also, who cares if Janis is a lesbian/ethnic, she’s an incredibly talented actress and singer, so she deserved it! Or maybe I’m just a stupid Gen Zer with no good thoughts or opinions!!!

      You're a wonderful Gen Z with valid thoughts and opinions! 💓 I think the conversation around the movie (or anything) being "too woke" is something silly that I will NEVER understand. I really love that about the movie because representation really matters and showing a diverse cast (and characters) is something that is more and more important every day. I would definitely recommend the 2004 film (if you still haven't watched it yet) it definitely holds up BUT that comment I made is so real, there's a lot in the 04 movie that they couldn't do today 😅 This musical definitely did what it did so well. Like you said, modern, creative, campy, FUN and it balanced that over the top with real grounded moments 👏🏽

    About the CGI tanks. I felt the same way when I first saw the tank scene. Too featureless smooth outlook without any protrusions or even paint. However, I later found out that they were Imperial Japanese Army’s Type-4 “Chi-Toh” medium class tank that actually existed as a prototype at the very end of the war. They recreated its never realised “Mass production prototype”. Then I saw an independent simulated appearance of it drawn by some weapons mechanism experts, and it looked exactly like the film. Because the tanks were urgently produced to fight Godzilla after the war in one of supposedly destroyed factories as a story setting, they never had any time to outfit parts or paint thus that too cheap look maybe somewhat intentionally, at least to some extent.

      THIS COMMENT IS CRAZY LONG! 🤯 But I approved it (sorry, I didn't realize it was being held for review!) because there are a lot of good movies on this list! There are some I've never seen before too so if anyone's interested they have a ton of options to start with! Thanks for sharing! 😊

    As bad as the tanks looked, they were still on model for Japanese tanks of the era. That should tell you something when the characters in movie complained about how crap the tanks were! Lol I totally agree with you about Hamabe's Noriko. She was absolutely radiant, and Kamiki's Shikishima should win him awards! Absolutely stunning performance by the young man! The crew of the minesweeper were totally engaging, with stand out performances by the actors who played the skipper and Doc. I had the pleasure of seeing it in the initial week with my son, and we left the theater completely delighted! Great discussion of Minus One!

      Yes I did research after the first comment about the tanks (there are so many now 😭 and I'm fighting for my life in the comments) and I get all that I just mean the CGI looks wonky, no comment on the tanks themselves 😅 She definitely made such a big impact with the time she had and I was definitely surprised! He did an amazing job I totally agree! I was very surprised by the survivor's guilt and the bigger ideas they tackled and how well he delivered these idea. YES! I wanted to talk about them but I knew this video was getting too long! 😅 The crew was amazing and I love the detail they brought to the story! !! I'm glad you caught this one with your son! I think that's amazing to have a similar interest! I hope you're both looking forward to Godzilla x Kong too! 🙏🏽 Thank you so much I really appreciate it!

    Three Toho movies make me cry: the end of "Rodan," the end of "Godzilla vs Destoroyah," and a few times in "Godzilla Minus 1.0."

    I like "Tremors", but I also like "Shallows" with Blake... I haven't watched this movie, but it seems to me that it is very much like the movie "Prey" from 2007...

      THE SHALLOWS IS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE! So I looked up "Prey" (2007) and it actually does look a lot like Beast (2022), haha.
