Nicks Custom Officer Boots Review
Apologies for the quality of this video/review. Hopefully it's helpful for someone looking for a pair of combat boots which will hold up. I was not paid for this review.
In case anyone is interested, the configuration I picked for these is as follows:
Leather: Black Chromexcel (which is the tea-core as opposed to through-dyed option)
Top Style: Rolled
Hook & Eye Color: Brass
Hardware configuration: hooks and eyes
Toe structure: Soft
Toe Cap: yes, 4 rows
Outsole: 430 mini lug
Edge Color: natural

How big is the heel?
Matt. Do you have an updated review? I'm specifically interested in how the soft toe is aging. I am sure a bunch of other folks would love to see Patina! Thanks.
Nicks has black leather laces but you have to buy them separately. I am about to pull the trigger on my 4th pair....
It's a stitch-down construction, not a welt which is a strip between a shoe sole and upper

What last did you get 55 or HNW?
The Officer boot is made on the HNW last. If you want an Officer boot in a high arch boot then look at the Charley.
If you really want the 10-inch boot, look at the Nick's Overlander custom configuration. Prwtty much thebsame boot but it has a 10-in option. Normally comes with pull loop, and without a toe cap, but both are optional with the custom configuration

Nicely done! I agree 100%. I am always going to get Nick’s boots. That’s it!
If you want more customization options check out Frank's boots. When Nick's boots moved Frank (a former manager of Nick's) opened his own shop using the same practices. The price and quality are the same and there's more customization options available.

OMGoodness!! Those jump boots brought me back so many memories. I used to wear them when I was in JROTC in high school in the early 90’s. Always kept them super shined. Thanks for the video. Please visit my Chanel and subscribe if you can.
Those Corcorans are really parade boots. They are not really made for everyday wear and tear. I have those in black and their Field/Jump Boots in brown. I have not worn them enough to wear them out, though. As it happens, I am waiting on a pair Nick’s Officer boots to arrive this week.
How are they now?

Fantastic review. I'm really surprised that this is your only review. Frankly the only reason I haven't subscribed already is because I don't know if you're going to do a 6 month review or another boot review again. About the Nick's boots ,I have the lugged Overlanders which are quite the same thing ,but without the toe cap and the vibram mini lug sole and yeah they're a bear to break in ,but a pleasure to wear if that even makes any sense. Right after this they started selling the Overlander……which is 10 inch and lug sole ….maybe the listened to ya!

Is that a Victorian rug.? Or afghan.? What ever it is,love the rug and hardwood flooring. Boots are awesome! I have the Americana’s, fitted through a 3D imaging app called Eclo, that nicks partners with. Perfect fitting boot I would highly recommend.👍😃

What do you use these for? Do you think these would be a good option for a beat cop daily use boot?
I wouldn't wear these on patrol. They're gonna be heavy and not ideal for any kind of foot chase. They're great boots but not for beat cops in my opinion. Stick to lightweight tactical boots.
Hi, I was wondering for comparison what size your corcoran boots are? I am ordering some Nick's boots also and do not trust my brannock size at all. Brannock tells me 12.5, my Nike's and Vans are 12, sometimes 11. My Red Wing Iron Rangers are 10.5 and Corcoran's are 11. Thanks.
my Brannock size is 8, but i can't ever get my feet into size 8 closed toed shoes. I typically wear a size 9.

They would look so much better if you would use the tongue kilties and they will save your tongue on those trust me.
$70.00 on a top quality belt is a bargain. You got a good deal.
Nick's is the best bang for your bucks. Condition them with quality Obenoffs.

I am replying to your response. The boots they make are very good good leather and good workmanship.I made comments on the pitch of .the shaft Higher shaft they do not like to make because it would be harder to brake them in A custom made boot should not need braking in time. Real custom made boots cost even more. The last is the most important thing for a good fit. Example a size ten have different combination different widths the arch has to fall in the right place plus there are low arch and high arch same heel height Then the foot is short or long in proportion to the last that is needed. The boots that they make have rocker bottom otherwise you would never brake them in. Only your leg would be sore. Your old boot could be resoled to give you what you like and want to match the nicks sole bottom I would wager on that. I personally made thousands of shoes and boots myself from A to Z in my lifetime. I have only one problem I am no good at bullshitting that is promoting even if it is good I stand by my comments any time and anywhere
Ah I misunderstood. Yes, they’re certainly not fully custom. I ended up with a standard last, which fits well. Better than most of the boots I’ve ever put on, but obviously a custom last would be ideal.
The shaft of the boots pitches too much to the back therefore it is hard to brake in a proper pitch would make the boots more comfortable lot faster
That depends entirely on the shape of your foot. I actually asked them to give me more space in the heel, and I would take another 1/4” if their last would allow it. I think its about whether your calf muscles come down real far or not. Mine are high.

If you like the soft sole, the Travelers are nice boots. I got mine in the late spring, so it was too hot to wear them in the summer. Barely broken in, so ready for fall.
Man they look great with that toe cap. Redwing Iron Ranger who???
Who you jest? Myself for one. Luckily, I found them on sale for $230. A couple of years down the road I want to spring on a pair worth up to three times as much.
I have a pair of urban loggers. They're so comfortable. Definitely one of the beefiest pairs of boots I've owned. If you're looking for some solid black laces guarded goods makes some all black laces. I don't think nicks has all black leather laces
Finally someone make video on officer boot. Thanks! 😍 About the height, i measured 10 inch boot is just below my calf muscle, which might be uncomfortable. My military boots just 8inch tall and it is sufficient in term of protection. 8inch tall boots also allow me to fold the top of my socks, so the fold act as extra cushion againts the top of the boot, hence more conformable. 😊👌
I admit the lack of a video review on them made me a little hesitant to buy them, but I’m glad I did. I see where you’re coming from on boot height. It depends entirely on the shape of your legs and how long they are. My legs are long and skinny, and no matter how in-shape I am, my calf muscles never get lower than about 14” off the floor, so a higher boot looks and feels good.

For regular wear you don't need 10" boots . 8" is plenty. Enjoy !!
Nowadays, the officer is available in 10" as well. If one reeealy wants it. :)

Ah I meant to. It’s black chromexel. I wanted a teacher sort of look as it aged. The other leather is even thicker.
