I'm excited, the game looks great and I'm a Switch player so no complaints about having to wait for it to come to PC or Playstation. I'm a little concerned that they might make a few changes to the script but if all they do is a couple clean up edits then I'll be happy

Nice collection, and yeah no worries, even I have a JRPG pile of Shame, I haven't played OG FF7, haven't touched ANY of the Dragon Quest games, obviously I'm playing Persona 5 Royal a little later than before haha....

Thanks for the response! I FULLY recommend the Xenoblade Chronicles series as well as the FF7 Remake series...I would probably vote Remake higher so maybe go with that! Remake is OUTSTANDING!!!

As someone who played FF7 back in the day, I would go play the Xenoblade games first. You could always binge the 3 FF7 remakes together.

You've got some good games to look forward to, so that's a plus to having a pile of shame! Xenoblade X is a very dark-horse favorite of mine, I did NOT think I would care for it (despite being a huge Xeno series fan) because of some of the choices I knew they were making in it--but when I finally played it a few years ago, I ended up falling in love with it. It still has, in my mind, the best open world I've ever played in a game. Monolith Soft does not mess around. Having said that, I might recommend you start with FF7 Remake/Rebirth. It's a bit more timely, and you might still have fun engaging with some of the discourse while it's still active. Plus they're not going to be as huge of a time investment as the alternative.

Im with you on VP2 and xenoblade X. Ive been meaning to play them for a while now, but i also know that they are very grindy, very time consuming games. In regards to your final question, both the FF7 remake series and xenoblade trilogy are excellent. But id argue going for the FF7 games if you are strapped for time. (Which zeems like you are, learning about your busy schedule)They certainly arent as long as the xenoblade entries. Glad to see another video. Keep it up man

I discovered trails in 2021 and that has rearranged gaming schedule a few times. As someone who played World of Warcraft 15 years ago, Xenoblade definitive edition scratched that open world, tons of quests feeling itch but I couldn't stick with it. The story unfolded to slowly and there was so many quests but none of them felt meaningful. I would like to try Xenoblade X though since I have heard it's a very different style of game

The Trails Sky Trilogy is great on the Vita if you are willing to patch :) Zero and Azure too! All "Evo" remastered versions!

I played the demo and thought it was pretty good. But nothing about it warranted a day 1 $60 purchase. Im alreasy knee deep in a few jrpg series so it wouldbt be wise for me to succumb to FOMO

I really need to finish Azure already, I started the Trails series finally last year and played from Sky FC all the way to the fourth chapter in Azure (~300 hours played!) but I got distracted during the holidays 😅

I agree completely on the Trails series. I have played Sky the 3th years ago and Azure and Zero with the Geofront translation, before diving fully into the Cold Steel series (I had only played a half a hour of Cold Steel I, before starting from scratch with Trails In The Sky). I must say I played another Falcom game in-between that I liked very much. I am talking about Tokyo Xanadu eX+. Love that game. And of course YS VIII and IX. I also playing Nayuta - Boundless Trails, Trails into Reverie and the new Tales of Arise DLC right now. Great games. I liked Breath of the Wild (I still have to finish it though), but that fast breaking down of weapons dove me nuts. The first Blue Reflection game is a bit of a mixed bag, The second one is miles better in my humble opinion. But I really also like the Atelier games Atelier Sophie and especially Sophie 2 are my favorites, together with Atelier Firis and Atelier Lydie & Suelle (I liked the Ryza games too, but a bit less). I could not really get "into" Dead End re:Quest, but probably because of the real dark nature of that game. Anyway - Good to see you enjoying all these JRPG's. There is still a lot to come in 2024...

Your 2023 sounds like my 2022 when I played all of the sky and cold steel games. I haven't played the first blue reflection but I did get the second game on sale and will get to it in 2024

Eternal Darkness definitely deserves a modern remake. Heck, even a remaster would be fine, it holds up so well as it is.
