A spontaneous 3 mile trail run in a RC rock crawler running an outrunner motor with a single speed 3 gear transmission. This LCG rig, with a 9imod outrunner motor run at 100% throttle for 90% of this run. Until I bent an axle shaft off camera. Please enjoy

This is my 1st brushed motor rebuild. The Holmes Hobbies Crawl Master Expert 13T stock brushes finally wore out. After an estimated 12 miles of multiple times being submerged in water, rough trail runs, 2 Comps, and too many rocks crawled to remember. The Crawl Master Expert is so smooth i didn't want to replace it.

I see what you meant. Grease up front and rear end real good, plastic spur gear, maybe even plastic internal transmission gears in the metal transmission. Take off the dustcover or use an open cover. That may negate some of the noise.

Naw, it's irritating 😂 You're not wrong. In person, it's more of a whistle, than that scream. I'll upgrade soon. Quality Outrunner setups can get expensive.
I want one really bad but I have the Traxxas Hauler . How do they compare ? I've never had a Cross Rc
@Bluecuban71 The #1 difference is after market support. All the available upgrades are on the Cross RC site. Not much. The hauler may be a little more..."sturdier?" Siffer chassis, driveline tighter. Cross JT-6 driveline has a more scale setup, divorced transfer case, nice axles also, better tires ( I'd say), both have nice shocks, I like Cross RC performance on the rocks better. BUT both have been nicely upgraded. I have a few videos with them running together. Even a tug of war👍🏾thanks for watching 🔥

@@OGRadGrow Is it the Gears or Electronics ? I am new but i heard you can put those resistor things on the motor to quite quiet (LOL) it up ? I put real Car Bearing grease in my gear box, Helped. Yea the noise can get annoying. My Wife hates them all LOL
@JamesDirtRC a little of both. The squel is the electronics and that transmission has all metal gears. A quality outrunner will be much better. This is a $30 9imod (Amazon) outrunner motor, so....This was just a parts bin build.

Your transmission is quite compared to others ive seen. Im debating on getting one but thats been a troubling sound making me hesitant. Stock transmission?
Almost all outrunners are loud. A good esc may help
I'm looking into getting a quality outrunner setup, Holmes Hobbies, or even Rhino. I'm sick of the noise myself 🤣

I have a Rhino crawler motor that is very similar to yours, that I have never tried yet. If it's sounds anything like that one when I hook it up, I will throw it right in the trash immediately. It appears your noise was always coming from your motor. that's too bad because you changed the tranny 3 times because of it. I guess we all learn by watching as well as doing.
I don't think that Rhino setup is nearly as loud. 🤣 I really want to run an outrunner setup on this rig, I'm looking at options now. Thanks for watching 👍🏾🔥
