Echo Lodge Equestrian
Australia
Приєднався 24 жов 2023
Come with me, Echo Lodge Equestrian, an older amateur rider and my three trusty grey pony companions - as we take on the world of show jumping, one jump at a time!
Based in the picturesque southern tablelands of New South Wales, Australia, I'm here to share the highs and challenging lows of our training adventures. But I'm not alone in this ride - I've got a dream team backing me up every step of the way!
My rock and soulmate, Ian, whose unwavering support keeps me grounded and focused. And then there's Ben Netterfield, the mastermind behind my transformation from nervous wreck to more confident rider. With his expert guidance, I've learned to trust in my skills and push past my limits.
And of course, my team of grey 'green' boys with a passion for jumping- Yaramlea Pumba, the warmblood stallion with a heart of gold, Yaramlea Pablo, his spirited son ready to take on the world, and Timaroo Echo, the welsh cross thoroughbred pony with a fire in his heart.

conquering combinations
Hey everyone! Today we’re focusing on refining our jumping technique and tactical skills over a one-stride vertical-to-vertical combination.
We set up a one stride vertical-to-vertical double. I started with the first fence at 90 cm and the second at 1.00m, gradually working my way up. My final attempt had the first fence at 1.05m and the second at 1.10m.
The session’s main focus was on getting the approach, landing, and turns spot-on, and being aware of my position in the non-jumping stride between the combination.
What I really worked on was riding forward to the first vertical while maintaining control of rhythm and balance after landing, then setting up for the next fence just like I would in a course. This also meant practicing some tighter turns off the short side of the arena, which is always a bit tricky! I used the whole arena to set up the canter and made sure I kept that rhythm and pace into the first element.
As the session went on, each approach felt better, especially as I started reading my line more clearly. Pabs responded to my legs, giving us a better canter and approach making each jump within his stride.
The key for me today was to stop resisting and start accepting to unlock my power to act and ride forward!

fine-tuning that connected canter
Переглядів 8914 годин тому
"Hey everyone! Today’s session with my coach, Ben Netterfield, was all about fine-tuning that connected canter and setting ourselves up for success with the right striding to the fence. We worked through a great exercise using canter poles to really nail the rhythm, length of stride, and overall connection to the jump. We set up three ground poles with three strides between them, followed by an...
rhythm + balance = better take off spots

Try this grid to single fence exercise to help your horse find the proper take-off spot. Set up a simple grid with a bounce leading into one stride to a small vertical followed by two strides to a bigger vertical. After the grid head to a single fence. The key is to let your horse carry the same rhythm they’ve developed in the grid. This teaches them to think and find the take-off spot themselves

Does Insta360 Flow Pro track and zoom automatically or only track?
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Yes the Insta360 Flow Pro does track and zoom automatically. The Auto Zoom mode the Insta360 app Flow Pro will automatically adjust the zoom to keep the subject in the centre. In saying that I have an old iPhone 11 and I understand that it works better with the newer iPhone models.
@@EchoLodge-Equestrian Perfect, thank you for the answer. I ordered immediately and waited to be excited.
A lot of our fundamentals are layered with emotions and life experience from previous horses and experience which is why being totally present in the moment is a huge part of the improvement 😀👍well done
Thank you! and yes for me it's all about letting go of past emotional ties and focusing on the horse to rider, rider to horse connection right here right now.
Courage looks different on different days ~ being brave when it matters no matter how big or small the challengers seem or feels are. Well done simply saying in a very uncomfortable place and letting the emotions wash over and you; is empowering once you can see it from the zoomed out perspective.
Thank you! All these life lessons wouldn't be achieved without your support @DaretoCoachingEquestrian-AUS

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 well done
This would not be if it was not for your continued support and guidance!
Great riding and beautiful horses! 🐴 I am not at all trying to be mean when I say this. but I felt the bit you had on Pablo was a bit much, and I felt like you were pulling quite a bit with him and Pumba. And with Pumba's, "unusual" behavior could be from pain, soreness, anxiety etc. I have ridden horses for many years, and I hope you can use your bits softer in the future. ❤
Thank you for taking the time to watch and thank you also for your feedback.
@@EchoLodge-Equestrian Yes of course, I am sure your aware of what I said already, I hope it did not come off as mean! Also I never noticed how cute Echo is, such cute greys!! ❤❤
Thank you 🙏 for the lovely inclusion- wonderful to be part of it 😀
Our pleasure!
