I pray FF9 doesn’t get the same treatment, otherwise I can see it now: * Kidnapping the princess is now a “40 hour experience” * Vivi isn’t playable in combat until part 2. Why? Fuck you that’s why, play these mini games instead * Fate ghost drive the plot forward in part 1, and then part 2 introduces multiple timelines because why retell the old beloved story when we can just fucking ruin it with convoluted bullshit? * Freya and Amarant aren’t playable until part 3. Why? Fuck you that’s why, play these mini games instead * The comedy is turned up to 11. And by comedy I mean humor only appealing to Japanese audience in this international franchise. Sorry Freya, you can’t grieve Fratley not remembering you as some dude with a Speedo kicks down the door and says everyone has to leave Cleyra. * Garland pops up every other cutscene and just stares menacingly at Zidane
