What anime audiences of Tales of Zestiria DON'T understand is that Alisha's treatment was based on how medieval princesses were actually treated- she was last in the line of succession so she was ignored by the crown- and Sorey did what was best to help her out without stealing her thunder (meaning the game avoided showing that Sorey was a lot stronger, that he needed to rescue Alisha to get her out of trouble or that he has some romantic interest in her, which justifies his concern and sympathy. In other words, Alisha has her own spotlight within the limitations of a support character.) Most game pairings between boy and girl, sell the CLICHE ROMANCE romance between BOY x GIRL under the pretext that they are mutually dependent on each other and staying in each other's company even for a short duration will make them fall in love and become best partners. That's BS in the real world. Realistically, princesses don't get to fall in love with anyone they choose. They don't get enough chances to fight in the war under their own banner. That's why the game DLC shows Alisha making a promise- that she will carry on and do what she can do best- to be a warrior, politician, etc. Of course the dlc is for Alisha fans- there's no point in making a dlc based on a main character. Something that anime audiences DON'T understand either- Alisha's character was REWRITTEN FOR THE ANIME to suit her fans' demand. It was NOT the ORIGINAL characterization of Alisha that they claim was changed by the game. As PROOF- Alisha has ZERO references in the prequel, Tales of Berseria while other characters have even the vaguest references. This shows that Alisha was a SIDE CHARACTER- not the protagonist everyone wants to imagine she was. Going back to the game, when we see the epilogue of Rose's grave and we don't see an aged Alisha in the party mourning for her, we are struck with the truth. Princesses who are deemed too ambitious in a man's world do live shorter lives. Is the game misrepresenting Alisha as weak? NO. Alisha did what she could and handled herself well- she fought for her ambitions knowing the risks. If she were represented otherwise, that would've been less truthful and honest. It's like copying the OVERHYPED trope of Xena the Warrior Princess that's good enough for naive tv audiences in the 80s and 90s who like to see strong women acting like men instead of showing their strength in ORIGINAL ways that do not borrow overhyped masculine traits. This is a digression, but borrowing a man's "masculinity" to portray women as stronger is what we see in Berseria's protag, Velvet Crowe. In contrast to Alisha, Velvet started out as a common girl with motherly feminine instincts and traits. In the context of Berseria, a female character must have some strong motivation like "revenge" to CHANGE into a strong woman- and the stronger she becomes, the more masculine she becomes as well. Alisha was motivated solely by her commitment to do her people justice. Her strength of character is much more solid than Velvet Crowe's- though most audiences would say Velvet was by far better written. The harsh truth is princesses have the right to assert themselves- but that carries the risk of being subverted by politics and other forces that make the medieval "man's world" a world that really, should change for the better.

Yea... I think yt blocked it worldwide shortly after the upload back then... And i simply haven't had the guts and nerves to find a solution. First of all, Genshin Impact is my favorite game. I love a WHOLE bunch of characters and it definitely has a special place in my heart and many memories I made with friends! ♥ Scara in particular, I was waiting for 2 years for him. When I first saw him, I read his lore and instantly just fell in love with his story and character. Everyone knew I wanted him to be playable. The hope was there constantly and the Scaranation (and I) were going through ups and downs during these 2 years LOL because a lot of the hints were saying he will never ever be a playable chara. But then when he was finally announced playable, it was the biggest excitement and hype ever. His lore was expanded even more and I grew to love him even more as a character. He's considered one of the tragic charas and I can't help but want to just protect him. If he were real, he'd probably be one of my best friends and I'd do anything to help and make him happy ♥ THE BIGGEST thing of all is that I had a lot of friends hypng with me and they know how much I was excited. So honestly, I don't ever think anyone in Genshin will ever make me this excited or beat this hype. I of course will grow to love more charas that's for sure, but the hype for Scara (Wanderer) will never be beaten and I want to treasure this day for the rest of my life! ♥ Thank you to everyone who made this happen for me! And I mean every single one of my friends because I wouldn't be alive to experience this day and happiness if it wasn't for you all.
