When you clean a set of these carburetors make sure you take the time to check all the air and fuel passages are clean and clear, especially the ones at the bottom of the accelerator pump float bowl .

Now these are apart I can have a better inspection of them to locate any hidden issues after cleaning.

Now that all parts have been cleaned, plated its time to reassemble this set back together. The reason I have started doing a set of videos for the carb sets I rebuild is to show potential buyers what they are really purchasing, from how they looked from the beginning , showing external and internal condition of individual items.

This set just needs to be tested for fuel leaks and then I will list for sale on my Website Seventiesmotorbikecarbs.com, now onto my next set which will be for Kawasaki KZ900A4.

As you can see in video getting the large amount of small parts prepped and plated is time consuming, the dust plate gaskets I have made are what I would use for the Kawasaki Z1 Mikuni carbs as the linkages on those and CB500 Keihin's are almost identical, this helps to keep the cost down of the rebuild.

This video gives a good insight of how many components are in a set of these carbs, a lot of the small items will need replated so this adds to the amount of hours required to finish a set of Honda CB500 four carburetors.

All of the carburetors and parts are now at the finished point ready for reassembly.

I have stripped this set down to have a better look into their condition before going through the rebuild process. The following videos will give you an idea of what is possible to achieve with a dirty/rusty set of carbs.

Now all items have been cleaned and plated, I can start reassembling the carb set adding new kits and parts as shown in video. The entire labour process from start to finish takes about 22 hours .
