Hey there!
I'm a twenty-something, newly wed, entrepreneur who has a passion for personal finance.
Never seen without a beverage in hand, my favourite activity is to grab drink and get deep with a friend about our financial & life goals. We will be chatting for hours, sitting in a cosy café, hiking up a mountain or lazing on the couch with a cheese board & a glass (*bottle) of red wine.
My goal is to be a millionaire by 30 and I thought it'd be cool to share my journey and everything I learn on the way.
So here it is, By Majella, your place to chat about Investing, Personal Finance and Creating a Life You LOVE, over a cheeky afternoon glass of wine.
Grab a drink, let's make millions!

Going back to work & money hang overs | Stop being broke PHASE 2 | Podcast EP5
I'm going back to full time work, in a brand new career as a corporate lawyer at a Big Law firm after maternity leave. Here are all the things I'm doing to prepare my family for the transition back to work after maternity leave and how I'm feeling about putting my 1.5 year old in full time day care for the first time. I worked part time since my baby was 7 months old, but full time hits different. Getting organised and making plans is a big coping mechanism for my anxiety and overwhelm so this chat really helped me. We also talk money hangovers and how to prevent them by managing your money so that you can spend without the guilt.
Thanks for being here, k love you byeee 3

Very well said
So keen for this journey, playing you guys in the background makes me feel like I’m a part of it! 🤍
I feel like being someone’s background noise is such goals 👏👏
Best guest yet!
@@connorrutty3760 🤣🤣
😂
Can’t wait for Connor to join next episode! 😏
@@connorrutty3760 hahaha ofc you can’t! Inviting yourself to every episode 🤣 we love it.
24:40 - “burn the boats” I got you 😅
@@AlanDeriard hahaha my brain was like nope
I hope the stories keep coming. You're so authentic with it!!! I hope you get what is owed to you guys it sounds pretty unfair and unfortunate. I learnt not to let money control what im up to. everything with me is on the cheap😂 unless it's important. I love it when women ask what do you do for a living. My answer is always the same. I work for ( insert name here)company, and let's never talk about this again!! I would much rather talk about life and other experiences than someone's job. People at work have actually commented to me!! You never talk about work ever 😂 to me we've been trained very well to consume, go to your job, consume some more, and you'll be happy!!😂😂 Im more passionate about the freedom money brings.
@@simonlyons6866 ah I love that!!! My husband and I used to brainstorm different responses to the inevitable question “so what do you do?” when you meet new people, bc work is such a boring topic of conversation ! So much more interesting to talk about what people do outside of work!
We need to do a reaction video to this! So we can comment on all of the assumptions and do an update of where we are at now
@@connorrutty3760 such a good idea let’s do it
We all want to see REAL content, not many can stand tall and open up with truth (good or bad) and I’m here for it! You’ve inspired me to be even more honest with my content! 🫶🏼
Thanks Alan!! Loving your honesty too!!! I agree. And sometimes it can be just as hard to share the wins as it is the losses, so I hope we can create that space for people. 💟
I’m quite shocked Australians are apologizing over a show that’s pretty good. That’s something Nigerians will never do.
What a incredible story, excited for the next episode! I would love to hear more about what business you were working on during that time 🤩
Thank you for the comment and for being here 😍💜I'm excited to share the next instalment of the story. It gets pretty crazy. Connor and I will definitely do a business episode - in the works so stay tuned :)
I love the honesty and hope this drives you guys to greater things
Thank you! Yes, as hard as it's been, it's forced us to get super clear on our goals. Plus, it makes for a hell of an origin story.😂
What an amazing story. The struggles of life. Keep moving forward with it all. Persistence is the key. I would like you to know your advice from your older videos about investing and saving has put me in the position I'm in now. Thank you for that!!!! I'm in a much better place because of it. I pick and choose jobs whenever I feel like it and do whatever I want because of it. I still live below my means way below!!! But don't go without either. I'm in the highest paying job I've ever had, I just rinse ,recycle, repeat. I generate income from my investments. I am focused and clear and don't spend unnecessarily!!! Again, your advice, so thank you (Although I am thinking of buying a new car) Congratulations on the baby!!! I hope you persist with what you are doing. l hope all your dreams come true. P.S. I also got rid of all my debts like years ago because of all your advice.
@@simonlyons6866 this is my favourite comment I’ve ever received. Thank you so much for taking the time to connect. Sounds like you’re practising a lot of intentional spending which I personally have loved in our own journey. I’m so happy to hear that you’re living out freedom in your decisions & have financial peace. It’s such a gift and a wonderful place to be in life. Re the car, idk if you listen to Dave Ramsey at all (I personally love it bc it’s so entertaining / there are lots of lessons in each person’s individual story), he believes you shouldn’t spend more than 50% of your household income on cars, which I think is a great guiding principle to think about. Something I love is that he is all for enjoying your money once you’ve been smart with it 🥳 so happy you’re feeling good with your position. 👏👏👏👏 keep kicking goals
Hell yeah brother. Great stuff. What a great and inspiring comment.
@MoneyByMajella I'm happy 😊 you liked the comment. You deserve it 👏 With the car scenario. The current car is almost 25 years old, and she's getting tired, and she also has roughly 5000000ks on her. I can assure you I'm currently on 150k ball park figure their is absolutely no hope I'm ever spending 75k on a car 😆🤣 im way too cheap for that. I'm thinking more like 5 or 6k max, and the houses I usually reside in are complete dumps. So the rent never really goes up, and I'm never really paying that much anyway as nobody really wants to live in them. Take care of yourselves and keep giving advice to people as we are not taught anything in school about finances or investing. We are taught how to spend, though. I wish I had youtube when I was younger . If I had the advice, then I probably wouldn't be working now!!! Thank you again!!😊😊
@mikefittler-x9u Thanks, mate!!! I hope it inspires people to stop making poor decisions about borrowing and spending!!!
@ sounds like you know what you’re doing and have a plan! Thank you again, I’ll keep making videos for sure (but more stories about my own situation & not giving advice bc that’s illegal 😅) Be sure to keep in touch 😊
This is exactly what I have been looking for!
Woooo here we go!!
So keen for this homie!

Ohhhh very excited for this podcast 🤩

please reduce the horrible music🙏
Hello, thank you for the comment and feedback :) By reduce do you mean it is too loud? Or less music generally? Have a great day :)
@@MoneyByMajella I don't find the music bad, but it is too loud making it difficult to hear what you are saying so maybe you could reduce the music volume so we can hear what you are saying? I found I had to put on captions as the music can drown out your voice. Other than that - Great content in this video!!

😍😍😍
100 percent do a video on money psychology.!!!! We have all been brainwashed and well trained consumers with all the crap put on all the television commercials game, shows, movies, TV shows, product placements everywhere, etcetera, etcetera, all over the span of my generation alone. Let alone everybody else's. I was watching reruns of wheel of fortune from my era and the rubbish that they blurted out, about how all this stuff will enhance your life. It's so far from reality. But people would have gobbled it up and gone out and spent. There absolutely needs to be more emphasis on the subject. Thanks for the video, another eye opener of course.
Thanks for the comment Simon!! I will do the video on money psychology soon I think :) Happy to have you here as always :)
Have you done a mid year reset for your finances? What's your best tip?
You are just awesome , loved your video
Awww thanks so much Yasin!!! Super appreciative of the comment & you following along 😊😊😊

I will make a new video on this topic and upload, lets keep in touch :)
