I just picked up a 16 oz bag for blending but I really like the way it is by itself. It is one of the best straight burley blends i have ever packed in a pipe. I am gonna hydrate it some to slow down the burn, I usually do that to all my D&R blends I smoke. I am also a fan of D&R Ryback, AP Rimboche ( a very good Va /Per) and Picuyane ( in small doses , its very strong).

Vacuum sealed tins for major bucks? You guys are not thinking straight. Maybe you guys also think c-rations taste better after many years. Look, tobacco DOES NOT AGE OR BECOME BETTER in a vacuum seal. It’s as fresh as the day it was put in the tin. That old blend tastes better because it’s the original blend before some other tobacco house got hold of the recipe. I see all these reviews on Tobacco reviews.com talking about how better it is if it’s an old tin. The only tobacco that will be better and aged is the tins that were not vacuum sealed ie. Rattray’s, McClelland. Those flat square and round tins like Capstan,St. Bruno , MacBaren’s are super vacuum sealed and will stay fresh for years until the seal is broken. Quit getting ripped off.
