Good Day Hero of the Day 02 22 2022 - CYO
Just a reminder that CYO basketball is more important than just a ball going through a basket. Thank you Fox5ny for picking up the story and allowing everyone to enjoy. Nice pass Will, better shot Freddie! www.cyony.org

where is the trailer though? I thought it had a guy chasing so that the fast break had to move fast
My favorite drill. Generally our coach wanted the pg in the 3 on 2 to drop back for d in the 2 on 1. Great work. I started showing my son all the stuff his coach is ignoring.
Yeah it's anybody at the top that must fade back
We like this against a Diamond press?
We used to run this on our HS team in 1976, with one difference. The drill started with an outlet pass to the wing, then continued on from there (just like we were supposed to do in an actual game). When the 2 on 1 finished, the rebound or made basket was grabbed and another 3 on 2 break began (the guy who rebounded threw an outlet pass and kept playing). It was something of a badge of honor to continue three or four consecutive times that way, though very tiring. It didn't happen too often. We'd run that drill for 15 minutes non-stop. It takes 7 players to fill all the necessary spots. The only players that got a chance to rest were the 2 defensive players (for a short time) and the 2 players waiting for the next round to begin. It's a drill that emphasizes skills (rebounding, passing, dribbling, proper placement) and builds endurance at the same time. And, it's fun. With 10 or 11 players, you can run this drill for a long time without getting overly tired.
😮
Its fine, especially for little kids, but much too predictable, and will only work against an even front zone
Great job coach
2-1-2 zone is the best defense you can play a team who can't shoot
Thanks coach I was given a bench team that needs a lot of work they are all decent players but never been on the court at the same time to make bigger decisions and have more responsibilities. We lost the other day but we're keeping up until the other team turned up and started to press after that we got smoked to many bad passes led to too many turnovers and easy buckets for the other team. We will start to work on press break this week to prepare for next tournament

This video was amazing! Simple yet effective movement! Number 21 flexing after the shot is amazing
For which age groups would it be more appropriate to have this drill done?
So it’s a 2-3 zone just with bump coverage but what happen if they go inside ball screen
What’s up I know it might be too late but I got a question, how do you determine who is the defender in 2 on 1?
Whoever takes the shot or turns it over whether they miss or make it on 3 on 2 is the defender
If the initial pass goes to the wing, does the opposite post dive to the short corner?
Will use at school
Clear demonstration of footwork 👍
Perfect vs a 2-3 zone. The entire principle of beating any zone is the short corner & middle options. Against man though, you'll need an offense with more cuts & screens. I'd suggest the 4 out 1 in dribble drive offense for that. If you have a good post, the triangle offense would be great too.
wierd ah zone
Is it against a zone or a man defense
zone but it would be most effective on a 2-3
Is this against a zone defense
This should be for a man to man defense
Is this also useful against man to man defenses?
high quality content -thank you
I like this si much. Tqvm
If they're like my team, they set up, pass once and then, run around like chickens with their heads cut off
😂
Haha I coach 3rd and 4th grade most the time they run good plays but I know what you mean!
bruh!!!! OMG too true. i currently coach a grade 7 rec league (most have only played a couple of years) so thats how it is the first few times we do something new. after practice youre thinking "oh yeah, we got this" and then come game time i call a time out and i'm like "guys!! we practiced this over and over, whats going on?!" lol
