R50 Pathfinder Rig Walkaround
Переглядів 34 тис.3 роки тому
Alex has been building this Nissan for a while now and it's really come together. Everything short of of a skottle for an long trip, and luxury enough for some fancy JDM parts while still being capable enough to wheel. Check out his rig on instagram at @theblackpathfinder p.s. take a drink every time I say nice

Harbor Freight 12v 150 PSI Air Compressor Review

Not an in depth review. It’s junk. The duty cycle is much shorter than you’d expect, and has poor overall build quality. When returning it I was told it was meant only for bicycle tires and hand dolly tires? Don't buy anything with a cord from hazard fraught if you plan on using it more than once.

    I thought the tire mount would be secured to a frame structure or something. Just mounting it to body sheet metal is kind of scary to me.

    I have a 2001 with manual transmission. I love it. But if you experience the dreaded “death sway” just replace the upper and lower trailing arms in the rear. Just did mine. Easy fix ps. Any pointers on replacing the radio/sound system? Mine has a Bose system and has all sorts of amps and relays placed around for the speakers. Just replaced the relays located in the rear because all my speakers went out.

    Lookin to swap my sf forester this weekend, how did it hold up and what broke other than axles long term

    • @stevenstiles1
      @stevenstiles1 Рік тому

      Held up for as long as I had the car, bought it with a blown HG and was destined for part out. I never had any issues but RWD guys will tell you that the axles are the #1 weak point and then the R160 rear diff is #2.

  • @harrylockhart7709
    @harrylockhart7709 Рік тому

    Is this really the only thing you need to do? I know nothing about transmissions but do you not have to touch the front end at all?

    • @stevenstiles1
      @stevenstiles1 Рік тому

      In Subaru transmissions the front and center differentials are both located in the trans, so this is all the front end work you need to do. The front axles do not need to be pulled as they are no longer receiving power and actually the axle stubs inside of the front hubs support the bearings.

    Starts out fast then hits a wall after 30psi, did my 3 35"s then on the 4th hit the temperature and shut down. Had to use my friends Viair which looks almost the same but faster and quieter. Great for a regular tire though.

    I had a 96 pathfinder that I inherited from my ex father in law. Absolutely unit. Bulletproof V6 and drivetrain. However, the front frame dampeners were worn out, so it made a horrendous from suspension noise. Also, we could never get the alignment right, maybe a rack and pinion issue???

      will work as long as the spline count is the same, but if it's a lower mileage trans in a newer car might be worth it to play it safe and just buy a spool for a couple hundred bucks

    I have a 1997 PF that I drove for many years. Actually the same color as yours but mine has a rear tire mount. The rear controls arms got so worn that it developed a death wobble. I bought all the parts to fix it but bought other vehicles in the meantime. I keep it around insured/legal for bad snow etc. It has 150k miles and never let me down. I retired and would love to get it set up for a little off road use. Maybe some off road camping. I'm watching such videos and thank you for yours. Excellent!

    I gotta ask about the manual hubs up front! Wanting to put them on my 01 qx4 But have heard of issues with the transfer case with the “auto” option, something about the light flashing and having issues even with the hubs unlocked and in the 2wd, have you had any issues ?

    • @ilyafilru
      @ilyafilru 2 роки тому

      I have the hubs on my R50. The 4WD light will come on on the dash if you cruise on the highway for about an hour. the light will go out when you cycle the key. The transfer case doesn't detect the front drive shaft turning, so it thinks something is wrong.
