    Wow I thought your video was a parody at first. There’s no way those legs flex like that…. I had this saw in my checkout. I guess I’m going with the Laguna. Sorry you had a horrible experience but thank you for sharing so I don’t have to also.

      Ha. Thanks for watching! Honestly the flexion of the entire table saw was the biggest reason I absolutely wanted to return it. I ended up with the Laguna Fusion F2. I have a review of that one also. It isn't perfect by any means, but for the price I'm pretty happy with it.

    Its called tuning your saw, you should try it before you complain about things that are easily adjusted. I owned a saw for years that had the same problems (Delta), and then realized that I was not taking the time to set the machine up properly. I finally spent the time and effort and was amazed at the difference in the machine once it was tuned properly.

    • @TopherWoodProducts
      @TopherWoodProducts 4 місяці тому

      Thank you for the comment. You are correct that there are adjustments that can easily be made. This was commented on previously and I did mention that the follow-up video addresses that further. In this video I was not clear that this was more of an "inconvenience" since it would be nice to have this set at the factory as Grizzly says that it is. However, there are many things in this video and the second that show issues that a slight adjustment cannot correct. Tuning the saw cannot fix a track that is not parallel to the saw - that can only be done at the factory. The issues with the stability of the materials is also a manufacturing issue. Again, I should have been more concise in this video which is why I made the follow-up. Honestly I am still working on the best way to put together these videos. As you see from this reply, I have an issue with keeping things brief (that's a joke). Anyway, thank you for watching. I hope you check out the second video about this saw that addresses these issues a little better (in my opinion).

    I noticed the noise from the miter slot disappeared. All miter gauges are trash from the factory. I dont think grizzly sells a upgrade. Your fence is probably off because you are locking it all the way down like a barbarian. It blows my mind how you keep shaming this company because you cant set it up properly. If you spent the time working on the saw to tune it. That you spent talking bad about it. You would have a nice machine.

    • @TopherWoodProducts
      @TopherWoodProducts 8 місяців тому

      Hello. Thank you for the reply. I see that you responded to both videos. I appreciate your feedback, and as I said in the video, I really hope that the one I got was a fluke. I have heard good things about this saw from others, and I'm glad that some (or most) people have a good experience with theirs. As far as the miter gauge, yes, they are not good from the factory. But perhaps people can't always afford to upgrade theirs when they have spent so much on a saw that they had to budget for. It seems to me that Grizzly should give one with the saw that you can use for the time being. In regard to the fence, if I snug it down the same on both sides, why would it change from one side to the next? You state that I shame the company because I can't set it up properly, but if you watched the video, my concern with the miter slots is the poor machining. Their are deep grooves in the miter slots that a little tune up isn't going to fix. You mentioned about the noise disappearing, but that's an editing adjustment. I also don't see a tune up that will fix the flimsy metalwork. The entire saw torques (the metal) when a little pressure is applied, such as sending a piece of wood through. This is a big safety problem. As I said, I really hope that this is a fluke that I was given. But seeing as it's my experience, and the company was so difficult for me to work with, that's what I have to go on. And I do mention that in the videos. Anyway, thank you for your comments. I truly hope you continue to have good experiences with this company.

    Idk. I love this saw. Huge upgrade from my rigid. Sorry you dont like yours. But almost every complaint was an easy fix if you go through the manual. And grizzly is a great company. They will work with you. Chisels don't come sharp out the box.

    My Grissley came with a stand. I foolishly placed the whole unit on a plywood platform with casters. Used this unstable table saw for years. Finally pushed the ( non running) saw until it hit an obstruction and it flipped over. It landed up side down, the fence prevented any damage. No one hurt very little saw damage. I built a very stable low center of gravity platform. However scared the $hit out me. I use my saw for non precision cutting. I agree with your criticism.

    Send it back! The miter slot not being filed smooth would have been enough for me to send it back. If there is no way to adjust the mechanism in the cabinet that holds the blade to be 90 degrees you have to send it back. There is no way you can live without having a blade at 90 degrees.

    • @TopherWoodProducts
      @TopherWoodProducts 9 місяців тому

      There is an adjustment inside the cabinet. The manual tells how to do that, but also states that it has been set at the factory and may need adjusted over time. I've been trying to get a hold of Grizzly for the past several days but I have yet to hear back.

    • @richardlug6139
      @richardlug6139 9 місяців тому

      @@TopherWoodProducts I figured that from the reviews of a assortment of different cabinet saws I have seen thru the years. Most of the time they are dead on from the factory, but some time the reviewer says the manual tells you how to fine tune it, if it isn’t. You were the lucky one that got to do the fine tuning yourself.

    • @TopherWoodProducts

      @@richardlug6139 Ha. I sense the sarcasm. I sure don't feel very lucky spending quite some time recovering my back after this. It just makes me appreciate my old table saw while it lasted. These things never happen at an opportune time (if there is such a thing).

    Some gentle criticism and advice. Don’t ever back a piece of wood out of a table saw when it’s running. Good way to get kickback and really get hurt. Nice box, by the way.

    • @TopherWoodProducts
      @TopherWoodProducts Рік тому

      Yes. Thank you. I was wondering when that would get brought up, and I probably should've commented on that. I have had to stop mid-cut before, and I shut the saw off. I really did think that something was on fire and just backed it out without thinking. I've heard conflicting discussions about this, and some say that you should back it out. I agree with your perspective, that if you need to shut off the saw mid-cut it's better to not reposition to a point where you have the potential to have a piece catch a moving blade. Anyway, thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback!

    • @TopherWoodProducts
      @TopherWoodProducts Рік тому

      Good tip. I was able to do that for one side. However, I should have made sure that the three sides that will be visible had the continuation of the grain. When I put it together, I intended for it to face one direction, but my wife liked the look of it another way. Had I made the front and two sides continue with the grain pattern, it wouldn't have mattered. So to your point, yes, I should have paid more attention to that. Thanks for watching! And thanks for the advice!
