Join us on our journey and if you are an allotmenteer or an experienced gardener then we welcome you very much as we may need all the advice we can get!

Thank you for watching Michael 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
you are making brilliant progress, each video i watch you can see the change...keep on going 👍👍
Thank you so much! I love the changes each week ☺️ thank you for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Great work! It might be better to create 2 or 3 levels across the allotment, it would be less work on your part.
That’s a good idea! We found enough bricks in there that we could make a step down with. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Nav I would decide what needs leveling when you decide if beds are going north south or east west as a wee bit of run off is good but a pooling opportunity isn’t 😢
That’s a really good point. Do you think we should just have a slight slope? Just take the edge off the dip so Roman doesn’t fall etc? Thank you so much for watching and all your advice! We really appreciate it ☺️👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
@@Adayintheleaf I think a wee bit of run off is fine I just don’t think you have to knock yourselves out trying to be exact in levelling. Good thing about winter is you can see where water pools, bad thing is getting the sun figured out for placement. Always something isn’t it but I’ve always said if gardening was easy everyone would do it 🤪
You’re right! Thank you ☺️ I think maybe there’s a reason it’s lower that end as the previous owner had the plot 30+ years I asked the neighbour but they didn’t really know too much. Xx
Oh lord Jade we do nail hunting too 😂😂😂 normally when we a burn or b Gerald is taking something apart 🤦♀️
I quite liked it 😂 my dad did 3 hours nail hunting for me so that helped loads. Nearly all gone now thank god 😂
Wow Nav that looks brilliant 💪💪. 😂😂 say it with me “husk” “a” “varna” 😅😅. She just wanted you to rotivate more in payback for threatening her shed. Sound great but I think a song or two would give us a better idea 🎶🎶🎶. My god was it a metal recycling place at one time 😮 that is crazy 😜. But hey keep going and keep the videos coming, Ali 🥶☔️🇨🇦
Haha Ali I think he’s got it now he’s been practising all week 😂 the shed is staying 🙌🙌 I can’t wait to fix it up.
That's coming along really well now. Will you section off raised beds? If so you might not need to move too much soil .
Yes we are doing raised beds (not really high ones) ☺️ thank you for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
New microphone certainly an improvement
I’m so pleased! Thank you for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Looks great a lot of work, but so worth it!

looking really nice now great team work to both of you. looking forward to the next video update ☺☺
Thank you Nathan ☺️ can’t wait to start building things! Thank you for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Your plot looks better with every video yous make. The new mic is working a treat, the audio is much clearer. Yous should be very proud of what yous have achieved in such a short space of time. Looking forward to your next update 👍
Thank you Jimmy☺️ we get proper excited everytime we go. I’m so glad the audio is better 🙌 thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
@@Adayintheleaf no problem at all 👍
Yeah!😀👍👍
Thank you for watching 🫶
Drill a couple of holes in a board longer than your rake and tie it to the inside of your rake securely. The tines will help hold the board in place, this really helps leveling loose soil by widening the rakes path
Thank you jelly bean! That’s a really good idea. We’ve got a much stronger wider rake at home so that might work well with this idea. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Sound quality 100% better, doing grand job fella, looking like an allotment already, that low part give it an extra working with the rotovator, wonder if you cold lay your hands on a scaffolding plank cut it bout 4ft long and attach some rope to it, see if you can pull it across the plot to level it. Maybe tie couple of bricks on it for weight to hold it down. Anyway your both making some grand progress. All the best Gary n Irene.
That’s a great idea! We have a few scaffolding planks at home, might even make beds out of them too! Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
The improvement from week to week is amazing, be proud of the work you guys have done! ♥
Thank you! We’re so proud.. can’t stop looking at the pictures we took and how far we’ve come☺️. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Tremendous progress. Your rotavator is making light work of that area. Helping your knees and back.
Thank you 😁 we’re so lucky to be able to borrow it. I would have been digging until spring 2026 otherwise 😅. Thank you for watching 🫶
Great video guys. So amazed by how much has been done! 👍

Thank you so much ☺️🫶
My mum had a council house neighbour with a back garden as big as your allotment. For 55 years,(yes 55)he cultivated that plot by hand, using only a fork!He incorporated tons of manure into the ground, producing incredible crops from apple and pear trees, fruit bushes, and all the vegetables you can think of.He also had a small greenhouse for propigating and exotics. For 55 years he fed his family and half the neighbourhood. He finally had to stop when he was 96 years old! The kindest, most gentle soul I have ever met.Rest in peace Wally.
That’s amazing! The fact he did it all by hand too! I’d love to be able to grow enough to feed more than just us. A lot of the other plot holders near me are in their 70’s and they look fit and healthy infact I wouldn’t have believed it if they didn’t tell me themselves. It seems to be the perfect lifestyle and not consuming pesticides etc too! I hope I’m still going when I’m 96. Thank you for sharing that with us ☺️ Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Yous have done a fantastic job considering how long yous have had the plot. Congrats on 500 subs 👍. Yous have made a good decision not to rotovate down where the bad weeds are. If you still have the rotovator when you have taken the metal etc out of the ash, spread it on the soil and run the rotovator over it again. Well done guys
Thank you Jimmy ☺️ we can borrow the rotavator whenever so we will do that hopefully this week as the forecast says it’s dry this week 🙌. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶

@@Adayintheleaf I was just saying to my husband it's great to see how far your plot has come on and it's good that yous have videos like us from the start. 🤗X
its looking good now job well done to both of you. fantastic video☺
Thank you 😃 it’s starting to resemble an allotment now. Thank you for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
That's good Jade, you found what I thought might be ground elder. It's dreadful to get rid of, years ago I had an acre that had mares tail as well so I know the frustration when it just keeps coming back! Have a good week.
I can’t imagine having to keep on top of an acre 🙈 there are some of the plots on the site (not close to ours) full of mares tail too. If I’m not sure what it is I’m digging it out 😅. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶

Next time we are taking marshmallows 😬. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
Wow, what an amazing job you're both doing! I've subscribed because I'm really interested to see what you do once it's all cleared of rubbish 😁 It looks like you've probably got enough water butts that you could set one up next to every garden bed and run gravity-fed drip irrigation from it 😆
Thank you for joining us☺️ there was so many water butts on this plot and a few bins, I need to pick the ones I want to keep and take the rest to the ‘reusable’ bay. Our plot neighbour said something about a gravity fed water system 😂 I’ll looking into it lol. Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
I think you mean 313 square metres, not square feet? Because that site looks waaay bigger than 313 sq ft.
Yes! Haha can’t believe I missed that 🙈😂 thank you 🫶
@@Adayintheleaf just wanted to add, I'm super envious of how much space you have to grow. It's going to be well worth all your efforts 😁
Love watching your progress. Looking forward to seeing what you grow.
Thank you so much! Hopefully our first year growing will be somewhat successful 😅🤣🤞 Thank you for watching! 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
What are you going to do with the worlds largest water butt collection you seem to have inherited?
Wow you both need sit down do a plan compost bins allways look on book free stuff
I can’t wait to build the compost bays 🙌 I’ve drawn a few plans and think we are building the bays from pallets 🤞 hopefully they go well 😂 thank you so much for watching 🫶
The condition of so many of these Allotments as made me clear, tidy or remove stuff that was making my large 32 year old farm vegetable garden.
There’s so many derelict ones out there and a lot of people struggle to clear them now days. Hopefully one day when ours is done I can give them a hand. Must be lovely to have a farm! Thank you so much for watching 👩🌾👨🏾🌾🫶
