They are trying really hard to hold back the British accent.

This brings back good memories. Patrick was sick and delayed his start in the show from 10 July to 24 July and I was lucky enough to see his very first performance and meet him after. He was amazing and he said he performed without even rehearsing with the orchestra beforehand.

Why is Elphie always the one who actually seems like she hates Glinda, and Glinda the one who always seems to have a crush?
I think Annalene Beechey may be my favorite Glinda. I love Kristin Chenoweth and her more comical and brazen version, but Annalene just feels a lot more like the original meek and soft-spoken Glinda from Wizard of Oz.

Wicked is not one of my favorite musicals in the world but you got to appreciate the pop culture impact. I was already a fan of Idina long before Frozen! There are so many things she should do in between voice recordings as Elsa! On the day that I saw Frozen at the El Capitan in Hollywood, I wore my Wicked T-shirt to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary.
Awww that's so awesome!! It would be some to see a show together in LA. The second time I saw Wicked was at the Pantages in the 6th grade with Eden and Megan. Way back when!
To anyone saying the accents clash, the solution is simple. Next time instead of asking the original Elphaba we'll just use the actress from the Wicked UK tour, since Children In Need is a British thing. Stop complaining. It was good, especially Annalene Beechey.
+Daniel Stylianou I quite like the accent clash. It brings more impact to 'Your voice', lol!
I don't know I kinda like the clash in accents, drives how different they are, as the two characters are meant to be near antithesis of each other

Annalene's accent is not NEARLY as irritating and over the top as Helen Dallimore or Diane Pilkington!

@Destiny Gill, the reason she pulls the smile back is because it's Idina smiling, not Elphaba. Elphaba is supposed to be very angry during this scene, not smiling and laughing.

I think she pulled back from the smile as it wasn't what Elphaba was supposed to be as feeling at that time I mean she and Galinda are singing about loathing each other but you just can't help but smile at that part of the song I know I can't
