As a fellow trombonist I salute you
How do you keep the support when playing staccato ?
I really wish I could give this vid a second like
this is making me smile... idk why :)))))))
It was hard to see the head, and my initial impression was that it was not a cottonmouth...but the underside was light and seemingly of only one color. The western rat snakes have a checkered or mottled underside, the underside is a major distinguishing characteristic.
Enough to make a grown man cry and that’s ok
Sounds amazing! Euphoniums blend so beautifully together. :)
Awesome work! Thanks for sharing it!!

Seth! Why is this not on tromboneexcerpts.org? Seriously, can I get my hands on your arrangement?
LOL! I played it all by ear, guess I really should transcribe it.
Yes, please do
This is so wholesome

Hello Seth V. and thanks for your work with this website. Can I have your email so I can contact you? I have some questions about your book. Thanks!
Hi Francisco, you can contact me: stvatt at gmail dot (com)
'Murican thru and thru
Love it
the top left corner at the beginning is when you do something completely wrong and have to redo it
After going through the video, I cannot come to a solid ID of the snake. Due to the video quality, at certain points it looks like a harmless rat snake, and at others, like a venomous Cottonmouth. Unless you have photos of the snake from that day and a location, then I would be willing to help ID it.
It was in Allen, Texas. Definitely venomous, as I saw its fangs up close.
If you saw its fangs (long fangs that fold back like switchblades), then it would be a venomous Northern Cottonmouth (Agkistrodon piscivorous). Again, I personally couldn’t make it out from the video due to the 240p quality, but if you saw its fangs then there’s no debating that.
Seth V. I just consulted with someone from a snake identification group I’m in (super reputable) and they confirmed my initial suspicions: nonvenomous Western Rat Snake (Pantherophis obsoletus) due to the pattern and and the fact that it’s in a tree as cottonmouths are too heavy bodied to be in trees, let alone one that high, but they will climb small shrubs on occasion.
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever watched. Thank you, sir.
i am obsessed with this video. it brings me so much joy. i love this show endlessly, and i played trombone in high school. thanks for making this and sharing it.
i need to learn this so i can join in
