Best Camera Cage for Panasonic Lumix GH6
I currently use 3 gh6 and record to 3 hyperdecks to a separate building via SDI. While considering expanding, this UB10 looks appealing to me to run a single network cable to each camera and choose to record the data to a network connected device like a NAS instead. This could give me better access to the footage remotely as well. The missing screen is the issue I would need to workaround... I wonder if it will actually work like I'm imaging though.

Thank you for reviewing this lens! I am considering this to purchase in the next few months…
This is the first micro four third lens that I bought and I used it for a long time before I started buying more lenses. In fact the main reason I started buying other lenses was because I wanted a wider angle of view and the flexibility of having zoom lenses. It is a good lens. Let me know if you want me to provide any more information about this lens.
Thanks for this video, I found it useful. An honest review for a change.
Thank you, I'm glad it was useful. I have paid for all of my gear, so that's why I can keep my reviews honest. That's the only way to have completely unbiased reviews because if companies give away gear for free, they don't expect a review, they expect a promotional video to boost their sales.
I took the most auroras with this lens, but now i moved to 9mm
Can you please share your perspective on the image quality of these two lenses and how they compare. The Panasonic Lumix 9mm F1.7 is the next lens on my shopping list.
I don’t use lens hoods, find them useless after 20 years of photography. But this really is a good lens and so small!
That's interesting that you don't use lens hoods. I find that my photos get more contrast and richer colours when I avoid side lights hitting the lens. I agree with your take on this being a good and small lens, i.e. my selection criteria for buying a lens, because if a lens is big/heavy or if it's not good then I end up not using it.
@ I’ve found with modern lenses no difference in colors or contrast if you’re using a lens hood or not. Now the 12mm is one of Olympus first m4/3 and it can flare if you’re not careful.
you need 20 more years ;)
@ twenty more years of fun. Absolutely!
Almost 20y of photography without lenshood here. All lenses still ok all this time, so i don't buy the argument with protection either. It doesn't really matter if i get more contrast, i process them with fade colours anyway, almost raw.
Description of just anybody knows plain garbage 🤮🤮🤮
can you please elaborate?
I have this lens, I think they positioned it very well on the market, after long thought process I ended buying it few years ago. :) You did not mention that it is a really beautiful lens, few only can compete (I know it is subjective but still... :-) ) I maybe not use it very often, and actually brought it from my photo cabinet during watching your review, oh it is a gem! But still my overall winner is 20mm f/1.7 no matter what lens I buy, this one can not get off my camera. But I mainly do photo. For video it is unusable. I'll take a look what other content you have. Thanks for really good review.
Indeed, this lens is unbeaten on its size, weight, and aperture combination which makes it a nice lens for video work in combination with its appropriate focal length. I didn't buy the 20mm F1.7 because its focal length didn't suit my work but now that you speak highly of that lens I have become curious as to why that lens is so good? what type of work do you use it for? and should I be getting one?
@@RadCameraMan I went quite a long road with photography. No longer have studio or do any pay work, my profession is something elese now. For last years I photograph mainly environmental portraits of poeople that are important for me. But this lens I also use when I travel for actually everything. They say that 20mm is a "normal" lens in mft world because its focal length matches more or less the diameter of the sensor (thus diagonal FOV). I really don't know what is it in this lens for sure it is not the Auto Focus :) but it renders beautifuly. A little wider lens and you may end up with elongated faces and big noses. This one does not suffer from it and still is quite wide. I have it from the day it was released so many years ago I can't even remember, I own version one of course and thinking of buying version II because it is in black and looks better (I think with age you want to use pretty gear LOL). This lens is actually a legend. For me another important point is its size and weight because I use it as EDC with my E-M5 and I have it with me almost all the time. If you should buy it? Hard to tell, looks like you are more focused on video where this lens will be frustrating. But.... for the price? Just buy it and use it with small camera for photography (street photo, casual portraiture, travel). :) If you look for very distinct rendering I highly recommend Leica branded 45mm f/2.8 Macro (insane for portraits), and 25mm f/1.4 these two lenses are outstanding!!! If you have money to spend Olympus 75mm f/1.8 - I rarely use it because of not practical focal length but results are stunning too - but very different in character to Leicas mentioned lenses. My family members, for them photography is just pictures, they don't care so much, but almost every time they notice distinct quality from 45mm and 25mm Leicas. This was quite shocking but really even lame ones notices that something.
The Panasonic Lumix 14mm F2.5 II ASPH doesn't have a lenshood? Makes the frontlens vulnerable.
That's correct. It doesn't have a lens hood thread for attaching a lens hood however some people use its filter thread instead to attach a third party lens hood but that means the lens cap cannot be put back on the lens after usage unless the lens hood is detached. So some people have resorted to obtaining a larger lens cap and placing the lens cap on top of the lens hood instead of the lens itself. So those are two workarounds for this problem in order to avoid the front lens from being vulnerable as well as reducing side reflections. I will make a video about that lens soon.
My favorite M43 camera is still the E-M1X!
same here... I am in the process of making an in-depth video about that camera. I really like the ergonomics of that camera. If Olympus camera division wasn't sold off, that camera would have received a lot of firmware updates. It has the necessary processing power and the memory to perform a lot of functions that the OM-1 II is capable of.
@@RadCameraMan Can't wait to watch that one!!!

SAME FOR ME , I HOPE A NEW VERSION , EVEN IF I DON T KNOW WHERE IT CAN BE IMPROVED
Good take on the OM news, I think the lenses may be 1.4 pro, that was the direction of travel for zooms and the 20mm? Its small compared to the 1.2 lenses but big compared to the non weather sealed f1.8, lenses while meeting the splash and dust proof criteria. That would work nicely for me as I am happy to lose the manual clutch for a smaller weather proof lens. Exciting news
Yes, that makes sense since they emphasised the weather proof aspect. I have the 20mm F1.4 and apparently it was produced by Sigma which tends to produce F1.4 lenses. I believe going forward the production of all OM System lenses is outsourced to Sigma with minor involvement from OM System for their proprietary parts of the lens. This is also one of the reasons why Sigma stopped producing MFT lenses and competing with Olympus. I agree with your prioritisation of smaller size/weight over a manual clutch. This is a better compromise because we can always use the on-camera lever to quickly switch to manual focus so it wouldn't be a big loss.
@@RadCameraMan Thanks I have the 20mm as well and its a lens I really enjoy, I didn't know Sigma had designed / made it, but I guess it makes sense if they design for MFT (i.e. not getting the bulk of an APC lens adapted to MFT) then OM-D don't need their own manufacturing set up - with all the costs and investments and risks? The 20mm got mixed reviews at the time but my copy is good enough for me
indeed... my 20mm has also been good, I don't have any complaints and it serves my purpose in smaller spaces where I can't use the 25mm F1.2.
I think you got it wrong with the Astro camera. As I understood it, the original sensor has ben modified as most astro cameras are modified. They have physically taken away one or two of the original sensor filters on top of the sensor. The two body filters delivered together with the camera have other purpouses than the ones taken away.
That makes sense. Thanks for sharing this detail 👍 It seems like the Astro version of the camera optimises the IR cut filter located in front of the image sensor of for astrophotography, allowing it to capture colourful red nebulae. So they have improved the transmittance of Hα rays, which results in images with a strong reddish cast. So it is not recommend to use this camera to capture general subjects other than celestial bodies. Then there are the two camera body mounted filters: BMF-LPC01 and BMF-SE01. BMF-LPC01: The Body Mount Light Pollution Filter BMF-LPC01 eliminates light from artificial sources such as city lights and street lamps. This prevents colour casts in the night sky, allowing capture of the nebulae and constellations more vividly. In addition, since the area near the horizon is most susceptible to light pollution, the BMF-LPC01 is also effective when photographing constellations rising in the eastern sky or setting in the western sky. BMF-SE01: The Body Mount Soft Filter BMF-SE01 allows the effect of blurring and emphasising point light sources, making brighter stars appear larger and more blurred, and the colours of the stars are also emphasised, making the stars and constellations stand out.
Thx 4 your instruction from the other video, hence I followed your link to here :) while I gave it a try with my om5, I switched the dail to art mode, then pressed the little record button, iit turned back to normal mode I don't know why. hope I can get some help here, thank you! awesome video!
This video relates to the E-M10 IV camera. If I remember correctly, on the OM-5, you have to first rotate the mode dial to your desired mode then I think you have to go to: MENU > 📷1 > Picture Mode and change to the desired filter effect there. Then you should be able to start video recording with the art filter applied. Here is the video about the E-M5 III which is very similar to the OM-5: ua-cam.com/video/oCqL0Cv6GFc/v-deo.htmlh10m42s Please let me know if this worked or not?
@@RadCameraMan you are such a great help! with your professional suggestion I finally made it work! it appears there was a conflict in settings, iit worked when I turned off video setting-->image style to off. THANK YOU you are my HERO!
@@0ioiuibgfg no worries, I'm glad it worked 👍
Hi awesome instruction! can you take video with art mode on?
Yes, you can record video in Art mode. The filter effects can be applied to both video and photos. There is a shutter button for taking photos and a separate record button on the camera which let's you record video in Art mode. See this video for more in-depth details and instructions: ua-cam.com/video/TKlZQdeysnI/v-deo.html
I wrote to the maker (VRURC) and they confirmed in writing that it does support “Pass through” charging and simultaneous use….with a caveat. I tested and can confirm it works. VRURC Support Wrote : “Thank you for your inquiry about the Model T3016. You can indeed use the pass - through charging function as you described. However, we do not recommend using this function frequently. When you use the pass - through charging feature, the power bank is simultaneously receiving and supplying power, which can put additional stress on its internal components. Over time, this repeated stress may lead to a reduction in the power bank's overall lifespan and performance. We suggest using this function only when necessary to ensure the longevity of your power bank. If you have any other questions or concerns about the product, please feel free to let us know.”
Many thanks for sharing this. It's good to know that the capability is there.
Are the filters adjustable in intensity on a slider? thanks 🙏🏻
No, most of the filters don't have an intensity slider, but some filters have three intensity levels e.g. 1:23 Vintage has three levels. All filters have different configuration that can be adjusted within their submenu, so you should be able to achieve the desired outcome to some extent. Some filters provide a colour picker, colour filter, monchrome colour, etc. to adjust the effect accurately but the available options vary depending on the filter. So each filter has its on configurations which can be adjust. See 20:40 e.g. Dramatic Tone II 20:57 and Partial Color I 21:09 Aside from the filters, picture profiles e.g. "i-Enhance" allow customisation of intensity level (Low/Standard/High), Gradation, Saturation, Contrast, Sharpness, etc. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarify any detail.
Does the VRURC support pass through charging ( charge whilst in use ) ?
I don't know, I haven't tried this. I am hesitant to try it without knowing whether it supports it or not because this sounds like something that could damage the power bank cells.
@radcamerman Hi, the Amazon UK site says it does.... if you search in the "looking for specific product info" text box .

Will the Curry carry the M. Zuiko name, and will it be a Pro model Curry?
😂🤣
I'm curious how you know there's been improvement is subject tracking? Did you test the two cameras, or is this just what OM is saying?
I didn't test the subject tracking. It is what OM is saying but other people on UA-cam tested it and confirmed OM claims. The tracking on the Olympus cameras has been really bad so far so I believe their claims based on other peoples tests. By the way I haven't purchased the OM-1 mark II yet so I cannot verify it.
Normally the astro versions of dslr cameras have the filters right on the sensors removed that give you correct daytime colors. If you use these for normal photography you get weird colors. So you need filters to use it as a normal camera. Just google astro modified camera.
Many thanks for sharing this information. I will look into this. 👍 This aligns with their claims as well.
Very helpful . Thanks

You already said and showed that this powerbank does not charge the M1X! Please, update linke and also a link to the right cable USB c PD, thank you
5:42 there are two power banks in this video, the second one works with the E-M1X. The E-M1X will work with any power bank that is compliant with "USB Power Delivery (PD) Revision 3.0, Version 1.0a" and can provide at least 9V at 3A. These same specifications are required for the USB-C cable as well. So try this one: amzn.to/4gCby7I
You have a great wish to help others about charging the M1X camera, thank you so much. I wrote you in the other video about that you help me to buy the right USB PD cable by finding some offers in Ebay and send me in you answer the name of the tittle of the product, the same for a powerbank, this is because it is very difficult to find base on so much information and I am afraid to buy a wrong producto, I will need the cable and the powerbank, please, help me to identify correctly these 2 items, the cable and the powerbank! Many greetings from Germany, Wish you all the best for 2025. Alfredo
Power bank: amzn.to/4gCby7I USB-C cable: amzn.to/402wxcW Regarding USB-C cables, almost all cables that support 60W or more can be used, so feel free to buy a cheaper one if you want to because most of them will work. Regarding the power bank; this can be more tricky. The power bank must support "USB Power Delivery (PD) Revision 3.0, Version 1.0a" or a higher version. So that it can supply at least 9V at 3A but ideally more. All such power banks are expensive. So the link that I shared is a good compatible one and it is not too expensive.
Hello, I am a casual photographer but want to get more into Portraits. I have the OM1ii, is there a wireless trigger and flash you could recommend for this system? Thanks in advance
Olympus/OM system have their own flash system however I don't recommend that system because they don't actively develop it so you would be locked into a system which is likely to be discontinued soon. Also, they don't have other type of lights so you cannot grow with their products. Instead my recommendation is to use generic brand such Godox because they are actively developing lighting products including flashes, triggers, and various type of studio lights. Godox products will work across different camera brands and systems. So your investment will be future proof in terms of continued product support and future development of their products. Also if you decide to use a different camera system you can still use the same products irrespective, so you won't have to buy new equipment again. Also, they have a lot of lighting solutions so if you grow big you can purchase additional equipment from their range of products which will be compatible with what you purchased previously from Godox. The Godox product codes which end with the letter 'O' are compatible with Olympus / OM system / Panasonic cameras. For example "XPRO II O", and "X1T-O", and "V1Pro-O". This is a good flash but you can look on their website for more options... there are too many options at different price points for you to choose from: amzn.to/3Pm0ekf
@RadCameraMan Also, if I may add, I bought a universal wireless trigger and Speedlight from Westcott, which does cover Olympus to some extent, but not OM Sytem ( according to their website, should've checked before purchasing). So my Em10Iv could fire but never actually tried my OM1ii....Thanks for giving me another option to use this fantastic powerful little system. Cheers from Los Angeles.
@@georgieb.4278 I assume it will work on the OM-1 II as well. I don't think much has changed between those cameras in terms of their flash connection and communication protocols.
Do robienia filmów najlepsza jest kamera , a aparat w głównie przeznaczony jest do robienia zdjęć.
I thinking the distinction has blurred overtime because photography cameras had higher resolutions and have been able to produce better quality videos than camcorders at substantially cheaper prices although without the practical aspects of camcorders. So a lot of people including me prefer to use these type of cameras for videography. Which camera do you use currently?

I remember watching this a few months ago when I was thinking about moving from E-M10 IV to OM-5. And I did move, mostly because of the computational features of the OM-5. Everything you mention here is just on point, very good! I disagree only on the screen issue. When vlogging with the E-M10 put on a stick, the flip screen lays behind the stick mechanism. Also the tilt screen of the OM-5 can be used even when using a mic or a remote release - just be careful... Battery life is a downside, always must carry some spare batteries. And the missing USB-C / power bank option does not help in that. Just ordered a dummy battery and an extra battery door cover (to punch a hole in it for the cord). Other than these, I'm very happy with the OM-5.
I agree with everything you mentioned. For me the IBIS, UVC, and vertical shooting was the main draw as I mainly do video recording and live streaming.
Thanks now I don’t have to buy a expensive fujifilm❤
I'm glad it was useful. What do you typically film?
The gross retail price on alibaba is 66$ but they ask more than 350$ for it on aliexpress. How much have you paid for it ?
everything will always be cheaper on alibaba but that's for bulk purchases by other stores. I don't think you can buy a single item at that price: tidd.ly/4fOfPng
@@RadCameraMan In bulk it's sold 60$. The markup is way too high...
@@mousbleu agreed, some of it might be import tariffs or sales tax which is not shown on the bulk prices but nevertheless it is an expensive product for consumers.
@@RadCameraMan There's no tariff in place yet, and sales price doesn't explain the 800% price increase. Anyway I doubt they find buyers at this price.
For me it was very helpful. Thx ! ...maybe black table and black gear doesn't seem to be a good combine, but still the content is substantial :)
Many thanks for the feedback. I agree the black table and black equipment is not a good fit, and what makes it even worse is the lack of proper lighting so everything is dark... I need to improve the quality of these videos... lol
Have you looked at the 7artisans 18MM F6.3 Mark II UFO Lens? This is another option.
I don't have that lens but I did consider buying it however it is not wide enough for my intended use. Ideally I prefer small lenses that have a focal length of 12mm or wider. If I have to, I can work with 14mm or 15mm lenses but only if I really have to... any focal length larger than that is not really practical for my intended use. If 18mm suits the use case then that is definitely an interesting option. Do you have that lens?
@ I have a number of them that I’m using as body caps. They seem to work good. I have the Olympus as well.
@@waynecox5138 I see, so you are actually using them as body caps! I use them as lenses but I usually have a lens attached to my camera even when my camera is packed in my bag, so I never have a camera body without a lens on it as it makes it quicker to setup on location
This is nonsense. I use gh6. And have a 5 too. Your issues are no big deal. No streaking or battery issues for mine. Camera is very responsive..no problems. I think you have a bad copy. Send it back get another one

Thanks for the tutorial and just got one recently. Everything seems working well but got an issue with H265 streaming, seems like the device doesn't accept HLS (http) links. Hope UA-cam rolls out SRT in the near future but it works really well with H264.
Quick update, used the Enhanced RTMP with the H265 encoder and it works!!! Looks awesome btw! Sent an email to Zowietek and HLS is in their future plans. Can't believe how good this product works!!! If they can add more OSD features then it's a game changer!
I didn't realise it supports Enhanced RTMP with H.265... are you sure about this? How did you verify this?
@@RadCameraMan I did a test stream using the Zowietek H265 encoder on UA-cam. I'm not 100% certain if it is true but looks really nice. UA-cam does support H265 (HEVC) using RTMP after a recent update. The enhanced RTMP feature is in the protocol section on streaming along with RTMP & SRT.
@@yymediaprod ok, nice... this must be a new firmware update on the Zowiebox! This is really good for my usage because I typically use low bandwidth 4G/5G connections with H.264 RTMP streaming, so H.265 is going to be a good improvement. I will test it out soon.
24:30 yes, this must be a new firmware update because the option for Enhanced RTMP with H.265 does not exist in my video which is from a while back. So this is impressive that they are making meaningful firmware updates to their device. This feature is a big deal for me because with 4G networks sometimes they can be stable for 3Mbps but 4Mbps becomes unstable and glitchy so if I can use slightly lower settings while maintaining the same quality, that is really good.
Hi, does it show video on PC when you switch your camera to 4k @24, 25 or 50fps? I can't find any mention of Ezcap supporting these framerates :/
Can you schedule the livestreams and recordings to auto start and stop at certain times?
Let me check this and get back to you because I only tried live streaming with it and I scheduled the live stream on UA-cam instead of the box itself but let me check and get back to you.
@@RadCameraMan That would be awesome. I feel like they advertised it to do this and I just don't see it in the menus....
Видео мне понравилось. Хороший подробный обзор устройства. Спасибо за обзор.

Hi there, can the zowie box be used with just the camera without a network connection as a secondary backup device when doing videography?
Yes, you can record the video footage to a USB stick or a MicroSD card. Keep in mind the write speed of your storage so that you configure the video bitrate accordingly.
I do not recommend this product. I bought two and both have the same problem. This is a product in development and does not work correctly. I bought it and had to return it because via USB-C as a webcam, the image distorts when configured to 4K at 30 frames, and it does not matter what app you are using (I used Windows Camera and OBS). If you increase the light level, the image looks worse. Via NDI and HDMI, there are no problems.
Many thanks for sharing your experience. Regarding changing the light level; are you referring to light in the room or the brightness setting of the video image?

Hey there, I've seriously been considering buying this and I've seen a ton of videos including the 1-hour live stream by Sony, I don't understand the esim/simcard function. How do I get network signal out if I'm not using ethernet or Wi-Fi? You've mentioned that I have to use Sony's app rather than UA-cam, for example, to live stream, does paying a monthly fee for the Sony service activate the esim? When purchasing a SIM card, can I go through any carrier ? Thanks so much in advance!
An e-sim is just like a normal physical sim card which you buy from a mobile carrier and pay for it to the mobile carrier. It has nothing to do with Sony software or Sony services. You can choose to buy a physical sim or an e-sim from your mobile carrier, they are both identical in terms of functionality. The only difference with an e-sim is that you don't have a physical sim to insert into your phone (or this device), instead the mobile carrier with provide you with a code to enter into your device (sometimes through a QR code, or over the phone, or through their website, or via email) which you can use to "label" your phone so that the phone company can recognize it. In addition to the e-sim, you can also insert a physical sim from a different mobile network carrier into the device. This will allow the device to use which ever mobile network which provides the best connection speed or fail over from one to the other which has the best connection (but both cannot be used simultaneously). To live stream, you don't need Sony's app, you can use the UA-cam app or any other third party app. However the UA-cam app does not have the features and customization options that I want, so I didn't try using it, but any streaming app work. The Sony app has good features but it has a monthly service cost which you need to buy and pay for to Sony. This has nothing to do with the monthly service charge which you pay to the mobile network for connectivity. Currently I use one physical sim card but no e-sim. Also, I use the default Sony app (Sony Monitoring App) for live streaming to UA-cam by connecting my mirrorless camera to the device. I am not sure if I have answered your question so please feel free to ask clarifying questions so that I can elaborate on any of the above details that are not clear.
@RadCameraMan Thanks for the answer, you certainly clarified some things for me. One concern I have though, if you can speak to it, is that utilizing an esim or SIM card from Verizon etc. doesn't yield much better connectivity than a cell phone or a hotspot from the same service provider. What do you think? Is there anything particular to this product that I would suggest otherwise?
1. In comparison to a cell phone; the connectivity should be identical (to my knowledge). This device has almost identical hardware to the Sony Xperia 1 V cell phone which further validates this. 2. Regarding hot-spotting to another phone over Wi-Fi with the same service provider; there are some differences to consider (good and bad). There is one big advantage which is that it will use less power to transmit data over Wi-Fi than over 4G/5G. So the battery will last longer on the PDT-FP1. However there is also one big disadvantage in that transmitting data over Wi-Fi and then again over 4G/5G will delay the transmission of data, which can be detrimental when used with protocols such as RTMP (which is what is used on UA-cam) since this protocol is less forgiving on delay and re-transmission of data for live streaming video. So the live stream is more likely to experience glitching. 3. The best approach is to hotspot using an Ethernet cable which is what I do. So I connect the PDT-FP1 via an Ethernet cable to an Ethernet dongle which connects via USB-C to my phone. This approach not only consumes less power than Wi-Fi (and 4G/5G) on both the PDT-FP1 and my phone but it also eliminates the added delay associated with Wi-Fi connectivity. This is my preferred method of connection. This approach does have its own disadvantages in that it requires an Ethernet cable and an adapter to convert Ethernet to USB-C for connecting to a phone. So you have to carry more equipment. Also, since the USB-C port on the phone will be taken up by this, it is not possible charge the phone simultaneously unless you also carry a small USB hub with you. So in my opinion this approach is the best but it requires some more equipment and might be less practical.
This is a used lens that has been unpacked before :))))
No, it's new. I suspect they package it this way to avoid paying import tax on it.
I accidentally screwed my lens cap on too tight, and used your video to determine what direction i needed to unscrew it. I then was able to unscrew it successfully. A great relief. Thanks!
I am glad the problem was resolved. I never thought this video would be useful for this issue.
The closest thing that looks like a PSP sony produced in quite a while.
I guess phones are so powerful now that they can play most games but without the good ergonomics of a PSP
How much did it cost while it was on sale?
I don't know about sales prices. I don't think Sony produces these anymore so whatever is out there is old stock

I only wish I saw this video before purchasing (and then the hassle of returning) the camera. Your analysis of the ergonomics/buttons/dials is on point. You are right re: the downgrade in color science, and in my experience the EVF and LCD color completely do not match with each other nevermind even the live scene. One real big annoyance for me is that a button cannot be assigned to enable the front dial for managing WB while the back dial manages +/- exposure (or vice versa)l. This is one of the most used features on my Pen-F, yet this latest powerful camera only allows one function to be managed by both the front and back dial?? A tad simplistic for such a computational beast no?
I agree with your take. I have spent a crazy amount of money on Olympus gear. So I really want them to make a better camera but my hopes have started to fade. I mainly use my cameras for videography as opposed to photography and I have started using Panasonic Lumix micro four third cameras more and more. The Lumix cameras are still not as good as Olympus when it comes to stabilisation, battery life, ergonomics, and colour science (previous generation of Olympus cameras) but the Lumix cameras have continuously improved and have a lot of other superior features since Olympus has not improved significantly in the last few years. So I don't know what to expect going forward from Olympus but if they don't improve and even regress in some areas, I can't see myself buying their newer cameras over the Panasonic equivalent.
After returning OM-1 Mark II, I bought a used E-M1 MKiii instead. What a difference between an original Olympus camera is vs. OM-System. Right away and to my relief, the EVF and LCDs match, the Olympus colors are back, the handling is much nicer. One other thing that really bothered me with OM-1 Mark II is the BOXY shape-it seems they didn’t want to spend too much time on aesthetics and were confident having the tech side only, is good enough.
@@svvancouver3307 You are 100% correct. In fact OM System recently released the E-M1 III "ASTRO" instead of releasing it on the OM-1 II which further validates that they themselves are aware of the problems with the OM-1 series. I think OM-1 has sacrificed image quality in exchange for faster readout speed, so for fast paced action or video recording that might be preferred despite the worse image quality and colours. You mentioned the "boxy" design aspect. This gets even worse if you compare the external battery grips for these two cameras: ua-cam.com/video/0Je6hF1CpLQ/v-deo.html
