1.22.24 Suncoast Wednesday Worship, Gal 1:10-12, Gospel by Revelation
Galatians: Getting the Gospel Right
Galatians 1:10-12
Wednesday Evening: The Gospel by Revelation
Introduction: There is only one Gospel. It is the Good News of grace and peace with God centered on Christ’s atoning death and resurrection (1:2) and our deliverance from the judgment of this evil world (1:3-4).
The churches of Galatia had become infected with a perverted “gospel” (1:6-9). If we seek to add human elements to God’s plan of salvation or if we fail to acknowledge the completeness of Jesus’ sacrifice we corrupt the way of salvation provided to us by God. Judaizers, many of whom were “believing” Pharisees, began to traffic false teaching in the Gentile churches - that no one could be saved by Christ without converting to Judaism (cf. Acts 15:1, 5). If these Jewish “believers” had only wished to retain the OT Law as a lifestyle for themselves, Paul would not have objected. It was when they taught that all Gentiles must become Jews in order to be saved that Paul condemned their doctrine.
Who do you seek to please? 1:10
Jesus is the only human being to live a life entirely pleasing to God (cf. Matt 3:17; 12:18; 17:5). This was His personal testimony (Jn 8:29). To please God means to be acceptable to Him, to live up to His standard in every way, every moment of life. Following Christ means no longer living to please ourselves or other people - in a kind, gentle and loving way we seek only the approval of Jesus in our lives. This is very hard to do because we all want approval - but it cannot control us. Paul says that if he lived for the approval of men, he would not be a servant of Christ. Those two things are incompatible. To please God is our ultimate life goal (cf. Col 1:10; 1Thess 4:1; Heb 11:6).
The Gospel of Revelation, 1:11-12
While the Judaizers were very concerned with traditions “according to man”, Paul asserts that the message of salvation which he preached did not originate with any man. Paul graduated from the school of Gamaliel in Jerudsalem but he did not learn the Gospel there. In contrast, it was a “revelation” from God - something hidden was unveiled within him (cf. Acts 9:1-16; 22:6-11; 26:12-18). The Gospel cannot be taught; it is not a matter of education. It must be revealed by God (through the Holy Spirit). The Gospel comes to life within us “by the revelation of Jesus Christ”!

Galatians: Getting the Gospel Right Galatians 1:6-9 Sunday Morning: Another Gospel? Introduction: There is a reason that Paul opens this letter to the churches of Galatia with two empheses. Galatians: Getting the Gospel Right Wednesday Evening: Paul, an Apostle Introduction: On his first and second missionary journeys the apostle Paul and his team had established churches in several cities (Acts 13; 14; 15:36-18:22, namely Pisidian Antioch, Iconium, Lystra and Derbe). These are likely the “churches of Galatia”, v2. Most scholars date Galatians in A.D. 49 as perhaps the earliest of...

January 5, 2025 Suncoast Baptist Church New Year 2025 Sunday Morning: Hope for the Future Introduction: Some people are naturally optimistic. Others think that simply having a positive attitude will change things in life for the better. Mere optimism without reason or foundation is groundless; it cannot change one’s destiny or future. The biblical idea of “hope” is not bubbly optimism or a posi...

9.8.24 Suncoast Sunday Worship Luke 23:49-56, Funeral of Jesus
When we can't see what God has in store, always know we are seeing things with human eyes. Don't forget God is still on the throne. I cant wait til Jesus returns. Come Lord Jesus Come.
A very nice church great people.
PastorTom does great Bible studies on Wednesday nights.
I remember
Hey everyone
Love this Church.
Very nice church.
Very good service.
Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice. Thank you for taking our place. The ladies possibly looked at the tomb and the body just like somebody would closely read a love letter. Reading it over and over again.
Murder is in the womb as out of the womb. I'm not understanding the difference. Why do people think it's any different? Even with rape a baby involved can be adopted. I have 3 beautiful grown adult children and went through many hard times. Never would I even think of doing something like this. The Bible says these days will come. The woman committing this crime, was given life. Why take a baby's life? What if Jesus was aborted? Then what? God may those who are doing this have a change of ❤️. I know a girl that is pregnant and on drugs. David and I and one other person are by her side. She has nobody in her family to go to. A couple weeks ago she came to me and gave me a hug. When she was leaving I went outside and gave her a hug and said we love you. Many women on drugs turn to abortion. They need help with their addictions
May we be a good example
Can you imagine as a human being not knowing our way of dying but Jesus knew His death and how it would ɓe. The closer it came to that day how did Jesus feel? Fearful? I believe His love for us was and is so intense that He was willing to give His human life not only for our freedom but also by example of what we should be here on this earth. Thank you pastor Tom Great message!
Great message Pastor Tom. Crucifixions were for those who committed treason, trying to overtaking the Roman throne, and Prisoners of War. I've learned in most cases those who were Roman citizens were beheaded not crucified. We also did this message in the Celebrate Recovery last week with a video of Billy Graham. The physical pain and all Jesus endured was awful but, the spiritual freedom He gave is everlasting. Thank you for this message to many for them to have a better understanding.
Thank you
Yes it does
😳 Promo-SM
Good singing Dwayne. Glad your back. Yes It will be worth it all when we see Jesus. This world is not my home. I'm justa passing through.
Marcy and I really enjoyed today's message. We miss all of you.
Miss you Marcy (Theresa)
A great message Pastor Tom
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Sandy Patti sings a song with these words. The Lord has many names. Just to do a study on the names of the Lord is neat! Prince of Peace, The Great I Am, The Alpha and Omega, The Lily of the Valley, The Bright Morning Star, and so much more. The day of His 2nd coming will be glorious for those who know Him. Thanks Pastor Tom

KINDLE makes the words bigger ... 👍👍
The stories in the Bible and people in the Bible are just like today. Trust in the Lord. He will never let his people go hungry. Both Spiritually and physically. Reach out to others and God will provide what is needed.
To God be the Glory. Amen.
Hey, sumbody ran off with yur shoe ... !
Amen Pastor Tom. Those who love the Lord will do what He asks out of Love to Him and do for Him even when theyre not asked, like this woman.
👍👍
Love the wonderful songs and the great sermon. Thank you Pastor Tom. Martha is doing wonderful on the piano.
I read somewhere that Madeline Murray O'Hare got bumped off by one of her own (an Atheist), and she wound up in a metal drum.

We are blessed for our Pastor and his wife great Epistle’s.

Good to hear Dick Tribou singing!!
I am so thankful God has brought me to Homosassa florida to meet very special people at Suncoast Baptist Church.
Glad to hear that Tom! We miss you and love you!
Good job. Thank you. I just wanted to touch base with you. My family got you on my phone so I can watch you every week.
Pastor Couric beautifully answers two challenging questions about God in this sermon. Thanks for your Faithfulness in always adding sermons on here for those that can't attend.
Oh, O.K.... so THAT's how it worked. Thanks for making it clear ... in the old Jewish way of counting a day, a PORTION of the day counted for the WHOLE DAY (and its night). So in their way of thinking, Jesus was in death for 3 whole days (including the nights). That works!
Hey Tom ... I believe in Jonah, and I believe in Jesus ... but there's something that throws me off, when Jesus said that Jonah was a sign for Jesus, just as Jonah was in the fish 3 days & nights, so will Jesus be dead 3 days & nights .... so here's the problem. Jesus was crucified on a Friday, was placed in the grave that same day ... then he rose again on Sunday. He was dead Friday, Saturday, and a little bit of Sunday. That's 3 days. But that's only Friday Night and Saturday Night, which is 2 nights. So my question is ... where is that 3rd night? The 3 days are covered, but what about the 3 nights ? Thanks ... Rich
... I knowed sumbody who robbed his grandmother ... it didn't turn out well 4 him

Today is Daddy's 101st birthday ... I had a role model. I'm so thankful he & Mom gave us a home to be safe and grow up. My little brother is the reason I'm pro-life ... having a new baby in the house was a magical time, the happiest we were as a family. God help this country
Heavenly Father, please change my character to be more like Your’s. More and more, everyday.
