Screen Printing At Home - Printing On Black Hoodies.
Today, we are screen printing on black Gildan Heavy Cotton hoodies. Screen printing at home can be simple if you have the right equipment. Here are some key points from today’s video:
1. Ensure that your platens are warm. Since the fabric is thick, it requires extra heat to help the ink flow through the mesh screen effectively.
2. Make certain the platens have enough adhesive to keep the hoodie securely in place during the printing process.
3. The placement of your design is crucial. Be sure that the design is not positioned too high or too low on the garment.

How you get the squares to show up on for each color it’s not working for me
The squares are a seperate layer. If you search "Spot color separations in illustrator" you should see some videos on how to.
Pretty much, the registration marks should be in it's on layer and keep it on the top. All the other colors will be on its own layer as well. Search those videos i mentioned
What was the dimensions on the original artwork that was exported from affinity program ?
I did not use affinity in this video. I just mentioned it in case people cannot get Adobe Illustrator. As for the dimensions, you need to be inside your paper size. Since im using 8.5 x 11 and you put 2 of them together my full dimensions are 11 x 16 but i stay with 10.5" x 15"

It's HP Envy 5500 printer.
Lol I just found out the printer at my work dose gerat for printing g the film positives. Haha all I need is my transparency paper and I'm golden. It's like a $2,000 dollar printer they got.

Is this water based or plastisol ink? Curious to know if it's possible to cure with the heat gun only
On the shirts it's plastisol ink. We cure it on a heat press. For the packaging we use water based ink on the brown paper. Yes you can cure with a heat gun but be careful as it can burn the shirt easily after several seconds in one spot.
Can I use regular dye ink?
Im not sure on dye ink for transparencies. These are specifically for inkjet.

We use film from screenprinting.com and for the ink, it's regular ink cartridges for the HP Envy 5000. Yes it's fast drying.
