Kerr Lake at Buffalo Park Campground
Thank you for the video we are newbies from VA and are looking around at state parks for RV camping from VA to NC. Falls lake is near Raliegh where I have family nearby. What other locations do you all like to camp?
Thanks for watching! Please see our other videos to see other places locally that we enjoyed visiting.
Brings back wonderful memories of Wintergreen Ski Club trips for skiing. We would fly into Munich and spend a day there. Then on to Garmisch for skiing on Zugspitze. Muriel and other non-skiers would sightsee other places while the rest of us skied. I took a day off from skiing for the castle tour.
Wowzers breath taking
How fun was the gondala
Ooo the deserts looked awsomly yummy
Look at my Jazzy she so cute adds style to Germany
The structures are exquisite
Ahh u ran into snow too
Gorgeous Alps
Such a beautiful place
Hey guys!!! Looks like a really fun campground. Too funny in the monkey bars - that would totally be me ;-) (dellynn) thinking oh yea, they’re so fun… makes it 2 bars and drops hahahaha! Love how you add all the species of plants and bugs - too cool!💜
@@notsoperfectlifers9410 So glad you enjoyed the video! The monkey bars made me want to hit the gym more 😂😂
Ouch! I saw that jellyfish. I was at this park hiking only several years ago and thinking about going back there.
It is a great campground. The staff is super friendly and events for the whole family. We were actually there this same weekend offering our groom services for the campers. Campfire Cutz Campground Grooming. The campground is a beautiful, peaceful family place to visit.
@@aprilingram6854 Omgosh, yes!! We saw y’all and thought it was a cool idea. There were several people traveling across country with their pets. Very convenient 💗💗💗
What a pity party.
@@roberthughes9773 We never asked for pity. It’s just the reasons why it didn’t work out for us. If you love the place, then enjoy it.
Recently don’t allow umbrellas and canopies. It’s because people have been impaled by part of the umbrellas, and if you were an area that has a problem with wind this is a lot of reasons why they don’t allow.
@@mikel.5850 they allowed umbrellas
How about tent camping? I like to do real camping. Not a house on wheels. I can do that at home.
@@Dean-dc5qv They have tent camping available. Rv/travel trailer camping isn’t for everyone. The area is beautiful. Enjoy whatever style of camping you choose 🙂
Thanks for visiting look forward to seeing you again
Nice review. Do you remember how far the lake was from the campground? Locally at Pocahontas park, when they rebuilt the campground, they moved it from right at the water, to 1-2 miles from it, so sad!, thanks
I remember driving to the lake. So it’s further than I wanted to walk
Yall shouldn’t be campers. End of story, also there is plenty of places to launch at lake Anna about 11-12
Obviously you’re a die hard Lake Anna fan. Enjoy. It just wasn’t for us. Scroll on.
@@billtessgreatadventure1481not at all just do research before going camping . Clearly yall didn’t know how to google anything which is your fault
Nice looking campground. We just watched your Pocahontas State park video as well. Great campground reviews. New subscriber.
Awesome! Thank you!
Great review of the state park. Looks like a good one. Thanks for sharing and take care.
How bad were the water crossings? The Dam looks amazing. Great Video!!!
It was in November so, it was really icy cold water. There was one decent crossing, water up to lower calf. Again, it’s dry season. I expect 4-5 crossing in the wet season.
Tessa and Jazzy are so pretty. And my son Bill ur so handsom
A really beautiful place
We're heading here at the end of March, thanks for the tips on the caverns!
Coincidentally I just enjoyed camping in that very camping spot 10 the past few night. (Were you actually blasting loud music ?)
It was on his phone, so no. We aren’t like that. It was only heard because I was right next to him.
@@stevenrauschelbach5913 Not really. It was on his phone and I was close to him so it could be heard by my camera, but it probably couldn’t be heard from the street in front of our site. I was giving him a hard time about it because I didn’t want to hear it 🤣🤣
Geocaching looks fun. Great ideas for dinners. Thanks for sharing.
Great Video!!
Thank you. Great video!
Loved this adventure! The baby cow was so adorable. Looks like a great time.
What are the coordinates
Definitely looks like a nice campground with good boat access. Great video y’all
Another AWESOME video! Was that a beaver in the tree?😮
Hey Tommy! No, I think it was a nutria, but it was still surprising. I’ve always seen them on the ground, never up in a tree 🌳!
Another AWESOME video! Was that a beaver in the tree?😮
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL video! Thank you for your time and dedication to making these videos and sharing your adventures!
Thanks Tommy! We should plan a trip together sometime 😊💗
Looks like y’all had a blast. Great video
Breathtaking magical waterfalls! Makes me want to got out and see some beautiful nature. Thanks for an awesome video!
Doing away with the music while you are talking would be greatly appreciated.
I will work on it, thanks 😊
Wow what a bummer!! Sorry you guys had to deal with the nonsense. The canopy situation makes absolutely no sense.
Thank you for sharing
hopefully you'll try Cliffs of Nuse and Raven Rock in NC also, we really enjoyed both but a word of caution about Ravin Rock, don't follow your GPS there, read their instructions as one way takes you thru a creek as a friend discovered . . . good luck, enjoy your videos
Thanks for he suggestions! We’ll check them out!
Thanks for this video. We're in Chapel Hill so this is not too far. I'll put it on the list for 2023.
I would go there for sure. Beautiful area.. Some glorious water happening. Love your rig! Thanks for sharing.
Christopher Run campground is a nice campground at the lake. Mostly enjoyed by people with boats who want to access the lake.
I was just there the end of August, gotta argue tho that #25 is the best site, great access to the river
There are so many great spots there! We love this campground 😊
Great video! The wife and I are headed there the end of this month September 2022
Love the foot out the window🤗 That is Dellynn’s favorite way to go pilot 😆 Looks like such a cool place, love all the street art❤️🎨
Looks like a fabulous Park. It felt like a little vacation just watching your video. Thanks for sharing!
State parks are having the same problem in getting workers as every other enterprise, which may cause some services not being available from day to day.
That lady was full of it. We go to Douthat VERY frequently and they put the parking pass in the packet, or it’s given at the front check in area. Glad to know how things are there, as we’ve considered this park as a destination. Thanks!
Thank You!! We were getting some responses on FB from people saying it’s pretty standard at most of the Virginia SPs now. About half of our trips have been in Virginia and the others were in NC. Only once was the packet attached to the post and it was an entire envelope. At the end of the day, that wasn’t the reason we left, but seemed so silly for the lady to argue about. We’re headed to Douthat this fall. We’re looking forward to it!!
karen
Douthat is absolutely beautiful.
Wow, good to know. We won't be booking there. That's sad since it looked like a decent place.
It’s not a bad place depending on what you want to do. We wanted to go fishing and the launch area gate is closed during prime hours. If we had an umbrella, we would have stayed for the swimming. Just a lot of information we didn’t know about and had we known prior to, we would have had a much better experience.
Bummer. Thanks for letting us know!
How bad was it pulling up the hill and into the campground?
It was sketchy. The rangers told tails of people that got stuck and couldn’t make it up the turn with the corner that goes into the campground. With a 30 footer we made it though. There were rigs of all sizes, so I guess it’s a combo of experience and tow capacity.
@@billtessgreatadventure1481 Do you mind me asking what size truck you pulled it with?
@@ShaunEJulian We pulled it with a Nissan Titan XD with the 5.0L V-8 Diesel. And It did struggle a bit. If I were to go back today or again, I'm not sure that my Silverado 1500 V-8 gas engine would make it, but then again I am only pulling about 6250 pounds so, who knows, cause it pulled great going up the Grayson Highlands and if you have ever been there, you know the Mountain to get into the park is steep and windy.
