Tinkerin’ With Mojave Dave is all about tackling everyday things,large or small, that can and do go wrong and need fixin'-and staying positive while doin' it! It's about making the most of what you have, often fixin’ things with little or no money. It's about upcycling, recycling and reusing. It's about taking that breath and counting to ten...and carrying on. I always TRY to have a positive attitude, no matter what! I do this each and every day! This week, all I managed was mostly completing the replacement front leaf spring hanger. It was fun. And the ‘ol Everlast Cyclone 140e did her job, using flux core for this task (it’s all I had in those regards). But she’s welded up good and ready to check fitment…ONCE I GET THE TRUCK OUT IF THE BARN! 🤣 ✌🏼 ~MD

I didn’t get too far other than finishing up the tow bar I need to jockey this thing around and sorting some tires and parts. But at least it’s some sort of progress for the week. I’m so anxious to get her moved out of the barn and be able to move it around to really get wrenching! She’ll get there. Little by little. Thanks for following along! ~MD

FINALLY! Got that stubborn, seized pitman arm off to modify. Working on this truck by hand in this particular barn is a PITA with no power in that building. So…we make do and manage. In this case, I ended up removing the steering gear to get the impact on it! The steering gear needed a good bath and paint anyway. I couldn’t run a decent extension cord that far AND don’t have a cordless impact b...

‘82 Toyota pickup-25 years in a barn! It’s just far too long to let it sit there anymore! But in order to really get working on it, I have to fix the steering just so I can move it around. Small gate repair over the weekend…

This was a sagging steel framed gate with an overall nice look. But it had cracked or missing welds, twist, poorly installed hinges with as much as 3/8” gap between the hinge plate and frame at one point, causing the gate to twist, plus it was anchored incorrectly to the block wall…coming loose. There were numerous small errors made by the previous “fabber”. The wood planks are going to be repl...

hello greetings from Pontassieve province of Florence Italy I have a Suzuki Jimmy 4x4 with a 1.3 lt petrol m13a engine from the year 2001 all original that I usually use on rural dirt tracks and on forestry dirt tracks that lumberjacks use to pull wood from the forest with forestry tractors and with skidders and forwarders and with forestry trucks used for transporting wood! and despite the fact that a 4x4 off-road vehicle with original set-up does a great job on that type of track

Time to toss some rollers on it, roll it out and clean the dang thing! Then clean the barn so you can get jiggy with it! So looking forward to seeing the progress in the ol' girl!
Heck yeah! Scowering the FREE sections (good luck) for tires! 😂 It has both rears mounted, only one holds air. So need three donors. 🤣 I have a few little things to do before I can roll’er out and wash her. ✌🏼

Wow! I somehow missed this comment! This was just playing around with scrap and settings in the new Everlast welder. I’ve used this little jig for holding primarily wood at either 90 degrees of 45 degrees while drilling holes or assembling, like some small gate stuff recently. :-)

All these amazing buildings going into Brent's Town is amazing. You can just see it happening This town is going to become an amazing attraction. I can't wait to see the cable car going and the ore buckets on the tracks again. Brent and all the volunteers are going to make a peace of history come back to life.
I desperately want to get back up there myself and see how things are going! It’s been too long!

Howdy XB W! I am tossing a little bit together, sort of an update, to all the mechanical and timing/schedule headaches I've had lately! I'll post that in the next day or two. As for Cerro Gordo content...well, I've just not had the opportunity to get back up that way for a visit. And I'd just LOVE to see the progress they are now beginning to make on the Americal Hotel rebuild! I'll mention a little bit about CG this next video to sort of touch on that part of your question. Nice sound, what was the number of that magnaflow? What size inlet / outlet? Looking to upgrade mine for as little as possible.
Good afternoon! I initially commented on here this morning, then realized I was addressing the wrong video with that comment! LOL I forget the number of the magnaflow. It was a whopping $26 at Pep Boys, in an urgent situation as the exhaust is a mess and the cat was gutted. I needed SOMETHING, ANYTHING to help with a little back pressure in the V-TEC. It was "OK". She sorta fell on her face the first 10-15 feet from a stop, then would wind up pretty good. That muffler was a 26" overall length with 2.5" inlet/outlet (made it work ). I have since had the exhaust refitted with a proper catalyctic and some nice piping out to the rear factory muffler...for now. LOL She runs far better this way. Sufficien back pressure and scavenging are key.~MojaveDave
@@tinkerinwithmojavedave thank you. I have been reading a lot of reviews and trying to learn the best way to modify my exhaust system without throwing codes or messing anything up. I was thinking about a Short Ram Intake but that's just sound no real hp or mpg gain. So I am going with swapping muffler and possibly removing my resenator or replacing with a more free flowing (to keep back pressure).

@@tinkerinwithmojavedave Thanks again for showing me what was causing the tilt in my truck. 44 year old leflet spring bushings. Oh there's more humor or drama, the outfit selling the new bushings want's to know what the "main eye", spring width, molded or steel outer, year and serial #, color of new Urethane bushings, and such. I have been under the 44 year old luxury truck about 10 times now. What fun. I am sure your removing parts and installing parts out of the other Jeep is much more difficult.

Yo Mr Dave all good men run thru these trying times. Had to walk away many times and set down to think things out myself, as all men have had to make a new game plan. After 15 years of putting a new engine in the green truck I figure out I got the wrong Harmonic Balancer had the timing 28 degrees off for years. And set fire to it not once but twice. Still got my health and bad deranged sense of humor tho. A wise man told me "To keep on Trucking" thanks Dad.
