Peugeot tried to crack the city car market, more accurately there only was the Smart. However the 1007 was indeed much cheaper and in fact much smarter than the Smart. Why Peugeot did not carry on with it? Well, nobody would buy it, it was as sales flop. Sadly, made me wonder how dumb some people are, why everybody buys a Smart when the 1007 was much cleverer and much more functional for a way lesser price tag. I have to agree on most other things in this video though, if it is AI or not. They still had massive motorsport success with the 206. But with 207, 308, well in around the 2010s with these wannaby F1-noses, God did Peugeot's turn ugly! I had 4 Peugeots up to then and was a very happy customer, but I wouldn't want to be seen in a 2010s Peugeot. They turned better by now again.... And finally, why did they not follow up the RCZ with anything? Or the 406/407 Coupé with a decent engine? When they rallied the 205 T16 and launched the 205 GTI, this was exactly what made me buy Peugeots and turn a huge fan of them. However when they won World Championships with the 206 WRC, the fastest road going 206 even labelled "WRC" had 132BHP. They showed great concept cars as i.e. the V12 engined 907 RC and when asked why they don't offer something like this, they said they couldn't sell them in decent numbers. This to my mind is extremely short sighted. The pure existence of these cars is marketing. See the Toyota GR Yaris, or a few years earlier the VW Golf R or the Ford Focus RS with 300BHP and its lovely 5-cylinder sound or even cars like the Ford GT. You see these very rarely indeed, but occasionally you see them, or you see a report of them somewhere and every time it makes my heart beat and makes me want a Toyota or a Ford. Peugeot in contrast when they won World titles with the 206 WRC made me think: "I like that, what can I get? They have a 206 GTI WRC-line, it only has 132BHP? It is decked out in full World Rally decals but is slower than a VW Golf Turbo Diesel? Sorry, I am not interested in embarrassing myself like that!"
