This is how I beat the summer heat inside my well insulated camper without the use of an air conditioner. I installed 2 Sirocco wall mounting fans close to my windows to maximize air flow inside my camper. They have been performing well and they keep me cool during the summer heat. I have also added a passive ventilation to enhance my entire system.

    Some great ideas and definitely detergents to make the quick grab thief’s run away. I would suggest you keep in mind that battery powered grinders with cutting discs cut anything in seconds. Even your wheel chains can be cut in seconds but definitely way better than nothing.

    First time I've seen the jack handle padlocked...good idea.. Years ago I poured a slab for my 5th wheel. And as usual I have a tendency to overbuild things. Anyways I poured a slab 5.5'' thick and in the rear of the slab I set into the wet concrete some anchor chain pockets like body shops have for straightening frames. Makes a good place to padlock to unnoticed. Using chain lengths rated for towing is also recommended in a grade 80 or 100

    This has got to be my favorite cargo trailer conversion. Do you have any issues with weight distribution for towing? I saw someone say it takes them a long time to move things around so it will tow properly which makes it great when staying in one spot but a pain to pack up and move constantly. Also is dealing with a black water tank really a huge hassle for people? I’m kind of treating that as a necessity considering the specific people I’d like to take with me. Draining a tank with a hose seems way more desirable to me than manually dumping everything constantly.

    • @trailhouse9706
      @trailhouse9706 Рік тому

      Thank you.. The weight distribution is not an issue for me as it was a very important step of the design process. I used my engineering background in Supply Chain and Logistics to eliminate any design flaws. My trailer is so well balanced that I don't even feel it behind me at higher speed. It's not rocket science but it should be taken into consideration from the start. Just buy most of your heavy items and design your camper around them. Most people do the opposite. It's not a house where things come standards like appliances, toilets...etc. My two heaviest items are the bed and the fresh water tank and they sit on each side of the axle. The center of my trailer is empty and everything is near the side walls for a great counter balance when taking curves or avoiding a collision and I really don't do any packing. As far as the black tank. I did not want one. From experience, It is a hassle to handle and they all smell no matter what they claim. It's not fun to store and travel with poop smoothy. The black tank gets used couple of minutes a day. On the other hand, the Grey tank gets used all day to cook, clean and shower while protecting the environment. I use a modified portable dry toilet used by the military with horse pellets for both number 1 and 2 at the same time and move the bag to a 5 gallon sealed bucket outside the camper. I hope I answered your questions and thank you again for watching my video. Good luck with your build

    Good idea with chain and padlock. I can only suggest turning the wheel a hard lock left or right, turn off the car and then turn to activate your steering lock. That way you have another layer and they cant drive straight without breaking your steering lock. I dont know how you get the inner tube around the chain, looks like a very tight fit.🤔🤷‍♂️😆

    • @trailhouse9706
      @trailhouse9706 Рік тому

      Thanks for the advice. The inner tube is not needed but I don't like noisy chains. I usually chose a bigger tube with a tight fit. Have a great day.

    Great to see all the layers of security, especially the wheel chain and Abus Granit lock.👍 I wouldnt use any Master locks or steel cable but they are still better than nothing and a great deterrant. You provided good advise to the general public.🍻🤠🇦🇺

    • @trailhouse9706
      @trailhouse9706 Рік тому

      Thank you for the feedback. These layers of security have proven to be very effective for me so far, but I still use common sense when choosing where to camp or park my vehicle and the camper. I am always aware of my surroundings and I never let my guard down. People can still follow you for miles if you're not paying attention. However, I don't make people traveling with me paranoid. I can still engage in conversations and enjoy the trips. The systems do all the work, I just manage the system smoothly. Thank you for following my channel. I need to post more content.

    Tying up the chains doesn't help much if they have chains in the truck yet are going to take it with. The 2 things that slow them down enough they might lose interest would be to secure Wheels with boot devices or remove the wheels all together put It on blocks. Especially if it's not being used for a while. I've recovered stolen trailers for towing companies I've seen everything. If your trailer is small enough they will pull it onto a flat bed trailer. Thieves are getting bolder

    Very well thought out. I don't have a trailer anymore, but putting small fans near a window is something I still do even in my house. I'm not a fan of the colors, but it's tastefully done looks like you thought of almost everything. That's how I would've done my bathroom, too, with a circular curtain and some kind of tub to step into, if I ever decide to build one. I don't like using curtains under counters, but you made it work and I'll have to remember that. : ) I like the spacious feel, too.
