Exactly the kind of apartment I had in Manhattan in 1990 but I had a 1 bedroom so there was an extra small room attached as well. Hallway is identical. 4 apartments per floor, two in front and two in back. I had the back apartment intentionally because, as you hear in the video, if you live in the front you better like the street noise which is essentially 24 hours.

The apartment is okayish for a single person, but I'm terrified to imagine what the sound insulation is like. I'd kill myself rather than live every day to a TV set mumble coming from an adjacent apartment. It's even worse than the sirens.
