How to replace a front wheel bearing hub assembly on a Chevy Equinox/Gmc Terrain. Simple how to video.
I always clean all the junk off the knuckle once the hub assembly is out. New one goes in cleaner. Also less likely to have problems if you or someone else has to take it out again
I'll take it
Thanks for sharing
My car has the issue of not starting sometimes. But once I jump start it, it turns on again. Also sometimes when I have the car on in the second car key position, i play music while I work/wash my car and after a while I can no longer roll my windows up/down or lock the car doors and the radio starts acting up. Alternator issue? Thank you!
I’ve also been told by autozone that my battery and starter is good. I’ve gotten my battery charged at autozone. They’ve plugged a ODV scanner tool to my car and theyve diagnose it with a failing alternator
Same thing happened to me lol
Thank u for making it simple compared to other videos
Great video all the way, but question... Would a pulley puller work to pull the hub off??
did you torque the bearing assembly nut
No torque spec??
Thank you it was really helpful
is there another CPS just below the oil filter location?
Yeah there's one in that area by fuel pump
All ya need to is spin the the hub by hand to beat it off the shaft evenly regardless of the dust shield.....
Yeah. I had a oh crap moment when he dropped that plug down in the hole. Just use the magnet.
Its not a wheel bearing bolt, its a nut that you're refering too. What bolt does that nut go on to? The axle. Its called an "Axle Nut" not a wheel bearing bolt. Also, a bolt is a threaded male and a nut is a threaded female. Not dissing, just filling ya in is all.
Hi, I did change camshaft sensor sensors, and they are leaking, is they using a sealer or an o ring ?? I already removed them and put it back again, tightening it well, and they are still leaking. I am missing an o ring or sealer?? Help
What did you find out?
this sensor bolt is damn near impossible to reach
Not sure that's a good idea to just let the spark plugs free fall to the bottom, potentially damaging the tip and throwing off the gap. I know you didn't have a 14mm spark plug socket but at least you could have gently lowered them with your magnet. But overall good video! Let's people know what they are getting into.
I'm here to ask the question about fitting the intake manifold back into place. I am on my 2nd time doing this job and both times the hardest part was getting the manifold to sit back in place in front. I literally watched your whole video hoping to see how you did that 😂
Las bujía nueva debes ponerla con cuidado por que vienen calibradas si la sueltas se daña la bujia
Friend, can you tell me the part number of this ball joint with grease fitting?
Use Rockauto to buy your parts.
next time show where you unscrew abs thats most important part
Show replacement of the front one lol those always break
he never show where abs plug in to
why in the beginning you showed 2 different sensors then the 1 you pulled out
Doesn’t anyone use a torque wrench anymore?
That's not a Camshaft sensor you replace,
Yeah, for a test drive!!!??? To the aligment shop, since that ball joint is not like the original (OEM) that has a dedicated side...
Good job!!
I think I’m having g this issue on my Jeep, trying to figure out where my leak is . I’ve notice, some fluid right under neath on the side of where the thermostat is but I don’t see it leaking when vehicle is on . I hope this is my problem
I only started swearing when you said it was under the intake! 😂 Damnit. I was trying to do it in a few mins, but now I'll have to wait. Good informative video, thank you!!
No problem! Take your time , it’ll be easy with the video 💪
Thank u for this vídeo 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽as im having trouble with this, initially i had p0013 (which i replaced both solenoids followed by an oil change/filter for my 2016 equinox) butI never would have thought that sensor was hidden in the corner after i received p0017 code😬😬😬😬 hopefully this should be the end of my troubles
Did this fix your P0017
@waltersweet4595 sorry for late reply..I'm thinking that it has the be the camshaft by the fuel pump since I don't remember the brand I bought but I gonna get me a Acdelco and see if it works
the new one is not like the original one ,the new one rotates 360 degrees and the old one is directional ,does it matter?
Hey this is one of the best on the matter on UA-cam! Nice
Thank you !
Do you use oem or what brand aftermarket part you use?
Perfect angles and advice. Keep making great mechanic videos
Ok overview video. Many steps of the job are left out of the video.
Question if the bearing is in the hub rust is in there recommendations tried heating up it still won't come out have tips
Get wedges and a headlamp
Perfect video for the job I needed to do! Thanks for taking the time and making the effort for a quality video.
I've owned a GMC terrain with a 2.4 since 2010 and kept up on all the regular maintenance and I can easily say it's the worst engine GM has ever made I've had nothing but problems with it. Cam sensors a&b high pressure fuel pump timing chain failure excessive oil consumption the list goes on and on
Do yourself a favor and take out the 2 bolts in the hood lock then the intake manifold will come out way easier.
Careful with that wheel sensor ring, good video Ty for laying out tools and good shots
Sir, this is an awesome and excellent video. Thank You, Willie Douse
I'm my 2012 equinox axle nut size socket is 35mm
You forgot to mention the torque specs. If you over torque the axel nut you might end up replacing the wheel hub again in a few years. Been there done that...
yea im just diy and i know that he is hack mechanic
Just got done with my wife's 2010. Happy wife, non-nagged at hubby! ;-) Thanks for the instructional video. Saved me taking it to the repair shop. Oh, I got lucky and just used the head of wood-splitting maul (backwards & minus the long handle) to knock the hub loose. Did not even need to hit the dust shield side before she just popped off. This might have been because I hit bolts and outside line of hub with penetrating fluid (pb blaster). Lastly, just snugged bolts and axel nut with air wrench. Finished tightening them w/ torque wrench per fella below. Thxs again.
My equinox 2016 come code p0017 My gear fails and the engine moves a lot.
Thank you
Coolant isn't bleed till the system is running and all air is removed by the bubbles of the Coolant Circulating IN the system and it comes up to operating temperature
Since you have a coolant funnel you can just bleed the system through the funnel instead of removing the temp sensor
The air Breather Should be at the 12 O'clock Position and it's Called a Jiggle Valve
