11 years huh? This show brings back a lot of memories from that summer, hope all the other folks from this year look back on this with the same sense of pride I have now. - some CPit kid P.S. Y'all should heard the original ending ;)
The way this show builds is not like any other. You get that opener hit and then it slowly builds until you get to the closer adagio impact which is one of the greatest moments in recent drum corps history.
This whole show is just a banger through and through. I’m so glad I attended my first ever movie theater live stream of prelims and got to witness this.
8:24 im the trumpet on the left. This corp was full of the hardest working people I've ever met. I cannot express to you how proud I am to watch this. FHNSAB
I actually auditioned for Cadets 2013, got cut second round, (it's fine it was 10 years ago) but I didn't expect the show to be so top notch with the music selection and drill/set design
I could never forget seeing this in person on finals night in 2013, made the hairs on my arms legs and neck stand up. This show hits way different in person. Absolutely stunning performance
Saw this from the track in the south before Atlanta and good lord this show is epic in person! And that was with 2 weeks and change to go! Wish I could’ve seen it finals night
ok SERIOUSLY, a few seconds before and after 12:09, is that just filler music or is it from an actual piece? it REALLY sounds like Devils 96 there (right before the end of their show, and the rhythm itself is the same big rhythm that opens and closes that show.) anybody know? I mean, whether it's just a coincidence, or the arranger 'borrowed' it, and/or it's from an actual piece in both cases?
@@as_sv9788 thanks for the tip, I was actually at finals in 99 and somehow don't remember. weak, I know. except I know that my best friend who was later in vanguard showed me that show and said he loved the opener (the canyon, by philip glass,) which I love, and he said he wasn't too big a fan of the rest of the show. for some reason I have seldom heard the rest of the show myself. will check out.
I like that they tried the through melody. it's.... certainly unexpected. the two are side-by-side in an unexpected way, which fascinates me. I mean, I haven't 'finished' figuring out what's happening harmonically at one point... the Medea music is in f minor, and the other melody is... not, gonna have to listen more carefully (life's like this, even WITH perfect pitch:) life's like this when you are hearing harmonies that seldom are heard together.
Truly entertaining. My alma mater making me proud! I had friends in Star - they were wonderful too. Cadets did Les Mis, then Vanguard did Les Mis. Everybody does everyone's eventually.

Contrary to popular opinion, the best unit of any corps in 2013 wasn’t the Crown hornline … it was the Cadets drumline
The PortaPotty show! 🟪🚽🟧🚽🟥🚽

While I slightly prefer Crown 2013 and SCV 2013 overall, the Scherzo section here was the best movement on the field that year.
Needs more flams.
Everyone talks about Crown's 2013 hornline but I absolutely loved Cadets' hornline this year.

Best interpretation of barbers 1st on a football field

they (drum corps in general) don’t do dynamic contrast like this anymore
excellent show
One of the best Cadets show that people might have forgotten

wow, the contrast in audience response from the ending of Cadets 87 and this... disappoints me, both are awesome.
This show was great in 1999 when SCV did it.
That final push is just incredible.
Star of Vanguard 2013.
This is my favorite Cadets show that didn't win
Great corps. This percussion section is legendary
Any other year they win brass. That year had crown 20.
Very well executed and fluent sound, drumline could have been the best ever.
22 did y’all right. Back on the right track.
New. York. City. :)

No Sam this is the best dci show of all time
WO, 12:09 sounded like Devils 96....melody and rhythm.
Loved those BD corps of the 90s. Much better playing.
holy crap, this is somehow the FIRST I've heard this! it's star 93 OMG
More of this show is from 99 scv than star. All 3 in my top 10 favorite shows of all time.

Love this show, but I still wish they had just done a "straight port" of SOI's show and left out the through melody
Same

This might be the best cadets show. So out of left field.
it's ends like Cadets 87, but without the INSANE crowd response.
? One of the most inside shows. Popular music. Sticking to themes. When they played Adagio for the 4th time it was cool but not surprising.

Ah yes, the good ol outhouse props. Served many a mason that year. Had there been a buffet prop, they probably would had won.
Me when I find Southmoore trumpet cam.

Personally I wouldn't have used flour as the base for the muffins but I'm sure they still turned out amazing

Criminally underrated show right here. And it shouldn't get taken down because it's not from the flomarching era.

I wonder how the Indiana Star Baking Academy feel about these 1993 rival bakers using their same recipe...
One of the same chefs too (McNutt)
