I love the Orvis SF Touch & Carbon rods! The best rods ever for delicate dry fly fishing! I own the 7 1/2’ 3wt., 8’ 4wt. 6 1/2’ 2 wt. & even my 7’ 9” 5 wt. Far & Fine, ALL IN CARBON FIBER! When Orvis took the Superfine Graphite (Touch & Carbon) Rods away from us and substituted them with the Superfine Fiberglass rods they should have renamed them “Superbad”. They are heavier, with terrible recovery time not recommend for delicate dry fly fishing because you can’t get the tip of the rod to stop wobbling. Please bring the graphite SF rods back to your faithful customers! Please!

My dad and I went to Red's for a trip down the Yakima back in 2012 before I left for the Army. Best fishing trip ever!

Very cool I love glass rods they're relaxing to cast and will take the fight right out of a big fish in the gentlest way. Nothing wrong with graphite and I adore bamboo but if you want the relaxed sensation of bamboo at a fraction of the cost with more durability try fiberglass.

This is a great float. Hilary is great. Joe is a Jedi. I love to watch the Central Wa stuff done by Red's and Joe. I get all sentimental about my home rivers. I hope some day we will have a take punch card for these Yak trout. I'd like to catch and cook 1 or 2 per year. Just a taste would be nice.

You guys caught some lunkers! Another great thing about the upper river is that you usually don’t have to deal with drunk floaters, although they do add entertainment if the fishing is bad 😂

I guess the nostalgia is fun and all, but if I want to remember what it was like to throw line on one I just set up my Fenwick with a Pfleuger medalist. Know what? It's not as kind on my now older shoulder, and let's be honest: FG was an improvement over bamboo for consistency, durability and weight, but really it wasn't more fun. Graphite was WORLDS better, and still is. Light, sensitive, responsive and very powerful. A little forgiving for a beginner, (which FG is decidedly NOT,) but a solid graphite rod will give you more than you can use -until you get practiced enough to use it. Then, it's there. I don't see how this is even a fad. When I want to step back in time I use a little 7ft 4wt bamboo rod and hit the smaller streams. I have a few premium vintage FG rods lying around taking up space... Don't need to pay Orvis $430 for a new one hahaha

Where is Leif? I had him take myself down the Yakima with a friend. Leif was awesome with his enthusiasm and knowledge about the fishing the Yakima River. We caught a lot fish with him.
