Hopes And Expectations For Dragon Quest in 2025

If you're reading this I wish you all the best for the upcoming year! The song at the beginning is "アンモナイトの歌" by Kirinji. I usually try to limit myself to DQ OST, but during a long session of spotify autoplay while I was editing it eventually started playing and fit the mood so well that I had to include it.

Greenthumb Garden - Dragon Quest 7 Story Analysis
Oh I remember this manga, it wasn’t finished so I drop it, then I begin investigating any other dragon quest media at the time. If I remember correctly, I saw an old dragon quest anime, it wasn’t Dai but something else. Thinking about it properly, I remember correctly there was a manga about Dragon Quest 6 but it never got translated. There is also Emblem of Roto but it wasn’t also fully translated either. And also there was few light novels about Dragon Quest that was never released.
I have a Priest, Monster Wrangler and Merchant. Was thinking of getting all of their skills, then changing them to Sage, Martial Artist and Thief.

I absolutely love the german accent
And on the third visit back to this town I realized they named it “not again” 😅
I was overall a bit disappointed by DQ3HD2D. But honestly a lot of my criticisms such as the heavy nerfs to physical damage flat out wouldn't work in 1 & 2's design so I expect they'll be toned down. Apart from that I'm really crossing my fingers for party chat in 2. Something you didn't mention I'm very curious about is if they'll ever update or re-release as a pro version of DQM The Dark Prince. That game released without a ton of fan favourite monsters from the joker games, a lot of brand new monster designs that were completely unobtainable, a pitiful postgame, and overall a significant step down from the DS/3DS stuff. Also I expect the Switch 2 to play a key role in the timing of a lot of announcements
That's so nuts! I used to always store them all until right before the final dungeon, then I'd drop every single one on the hero
I'm going through draconian mode and I'm getting spanked an overwhelming amount of times I reach a boss battle

you are wrong here. act 3 is relevant because it establishes itself to dragon quest 3 and its order in the timeline. without act 3, you wouldn't even know. therefore, it's neither meaningless or irrelevant.
Imo the dq timeline isn't relevant, but also I didn't call act 3 meaningless

Can someone explain to me, why sleep is getting used over paralysis?
Cause sages don't learn a paralysis spell
@ fair, i asked because in my playthrough i found para better then sleep. I used it all the time with the thief ability
the base chance on that one is only at 40%, compared to snooze, snooze sticks or coagulant at 60% and I also would have had to get a weapon on my sage
@@Easssae ah okay, thx for the explanaition
but i h fun with act 3
Technically no even on Dracky mode since the game doesn't HAVE a NO encounters cheat by default you also can't really HACK the Switch ITSELF for adding a NO encounters cheat and it still takes a While for Padfoot Thief Class Holy Protection Hero and both still really ONLY NULL battles if your at the same lv or HIGHER then the dungeons enemies completely while IN effect. ONLY play on Dracky mode else you won't LIVE long enough IE one 1 turn if your ONLY fighting bosses.
Huh?
The Switch for me in Unhackable that's why I can't add a NO encounters cheat to IT and even if I did it would still be ON Dracky mode where you can't EVER DIE.
yeah but you don't need dracky mode
I do since I'll never attempt the run WITHOUT it.
i'm german too and i keep hearing you say schwein it's too funny. anyways, been enjoying this whole dq7 series of analysis videos. 3:25 "the malign schwein" you're SO FUNNY!
did he just say schwein?
After playing through DQ11, I find Act 3 to be more of a postgame kind of thing, which made me sad the game's main ending was so unsatisfying.
When I reached the middle of your Video I realized a lot. I didn't came here to hear what you said but I'm glad I did anyway. You earned a sub from me. You are genuine and I understand your frustration with the system. At the end you are doing what you are passionate about and I find that very honorable. Keep at it and acrew those other guys who just are in for the engagement!
You should end your videos with, "I'll be back!"
there's a non-zero chance
best DQ video i've ever seen!
Hell yeah, my audio got better! That's what I like to hear
Thanks for making quality DQ videos. I had the same feeling about the poor quality of other videos out there, being someone introduced to DW 3 on Gameboy color. Your videos are top-quality and I appreciate your good work. Liked and subscribed, whether you are promoting that or not!
31:30 the dragon quest fandom wiki is a HORRID CLUNGERY. you could get more information about Dragon Quest Monsters 2 for 3DS or DQMJ3 from a 1 hour chat with one person who's played less than 3 hours of it than you could get from a 24-hour marathon of every last letter of each page relating to it on the fandom wiki. i've seen that green thing in luminary gear more than my own mother and NOBODY HAS DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT IN 7 YEARS
I feel you on the bad advices topic, I've been playing Romancing Saga 2 and the main advice you'll see is to not fight a lot cause the enemies scale. So I followed that advice, skipping one dungeon worth of enemies... And I got stuck on the first main boss for an entire day. Then I went back to fight all the enemies I skipped, fought the boss again and absolutely trounces him easily, so the "DoN't FiGhT" advice was wrong and caused an irrational fear of interacting with the combat. It's really difficult to find GOOD advices when people jump for views and don't even care about testing their theories As for your videos, I watched this and your DQ8 one and I gotta say, it was pretty interesting. I sure didn't know you could cheese Talos with sleep spells nor that the npc lady could give you strong medicines with rng manipulation. And while I didn't play this remake, it was interesting to know that monster wranglers ignore levels for their skills. Keep up the good work, and if other people prefer more flashy but inaccurate videos... Well, it will be their downfall when they play the gane
@@maverick5169 Good comment, but I'm not a fan of that last sentence. It's not someone's fault when they get taken advantage of. The people that look up guides are the ones without a clue, so the fault is on the people that prey on that, especially the AI generated written guides are disgusting. And I'd also disagree that acwano's videos are flashy, except maybe when he cuts to a bright scene without a transition.
I only found your channel about a month ago and I’m still in shock that someone cares as much about the series as I do. I know things are somewhat discouraging, but I’ll stick around for whatever you come up with next!
GC uploaded a video just a few hours after I uploaded this one, where he explains where his channel is at right now. I highly recommend you check it out as it might give you a new perspective on everything I'm saying ua-cam.com/video/hcvSMnFrtfM/v-deo.htmlsi=gu8vyhpoSWirQDhr
UA-camr: makes comment about how this video is in the background playing on a phone out of reach so they can go on a rant about the UA-cam algorithm. Me: "jokes on you, I'm into that shit."
16:46 - No! I was diligently watching, interested to see how you overcame the Bones of Baramos! Edit: 26:56 I feel lied to! Relatable diatribe though. I hope you find it in you to do whatever you want on UA-cam and enjoy it. Just because you don't make slop content doesn't mean your channel is a failure. This has been a really interesting examination of how objectively bad videos seem to do really well, but the video you spend ten hours on can never seem to break the view count of the video someone threw together in twenty minutes.
Do people think I can make one of these videos in 10 hours?
I can't speak for you. How long does it take? Scripting alone could take that long, and you'd still have to get footage. Editing, I think, is usually the worst part - that takes the most time.
Yeah, it depends on the video. This one didn't take all that much time to edit, since I could put whatever clips I felt like in the last 15 minutes. On the DQ7 videos, the amount of time I wasted searching for specific 5 second clips where I talked to an NPC I wanted to reference 10 events later was pretty awful. I think the video I showed that got less than 70 views took about 30 hours (most of that time going into research and scripting actually), but most take more. This one for example took me ~10 hours of planning, setting everything up and recording, although I wouldn't really count the 7 hours that I played the game for as work. I rewrote a lot, so I'd estimate about 10 hours of scripting, then I had to rerecord a lot because of mouth noises and of course I end up cutting out a lot of breaks etc, either way I recorded a bit over 2 hours of raw audio and then I edited for probably 20-30 hours. Had to re-render twice because of small mistakes I spotted while proof-watching the whole thing. I think it also takes me longer because of the cutting style, wanting to always put either relevant scenes or ones that add something of substance. And that doesn't take into account how much mental space it takes up outside of the time that I'm actively working on it. You can probably relate on that one. I am getting much more efficient though as I'm gaining routine. For example I got way better at writing scripts with specific scenes in mind and segmenting my recordings in such a way that I more easily find the important scenes. I used to just write and then sometimes get stuck at certain scenes with no idea on what footage to put there or I'd remember a scene while editing, but have no clue where in the 100 hours of dq7 footage exactly it was. The video I put the most time into was of course the dq7 on religion one. That took like over a whole month, almost 2 of all my free time where I barely slept and put in like 15 hours every saturday. It's something I'll never again do. If I had to give a number I'd say 400 hours, but that is excluding the work I did on that video before those months during the time where I made that video series leading up to it. Like I read at least 100 hours of gnostic scripture for that video. It 100% has more hours put into it than it has watchtime on yt. Some of the shortest dq7 story analysis vids are probably at around 10 hours if you're excluding gameplay though, but by that I mean the 4-5 minute ones
Please don't let the struggles of being a youtuber with standards get you down, but also please don't feel like you have to be the Akira Kurosawa of Dragon Quest videos. I think you can find a happy medium
Eassae, you are genuinely one of my favorite content creators on youtube. I can feel the hard work you put into every video, and i appreciate you talking about the nature of making youtube content and the conflict of wanting to make content that is both popular and high quality. Unfortunately, people want to watch what they want, not what you want. If you keep your happiness as a content creator tied to your views, you will only stay frustrated as low effort slop gets the most attention. As a DQ fan for over 20 years, the lack of high quality english guide content and especially discourse on the writing and themes of dragon quest games has always been a source of disappointment. Please never stop being yourself. While you might not become as popular as you want, your videos have a high level of impact on me as a viewer. Make videos about what makes you happy, not what will appeal to the widest audience. You have caused me to engage with these games at a higher level, and deeply examine both the chatacters and story writing for the dragon quest games (especially DQ 7). I do not wish you get more views, but instead that you find the most happiness in making content. Never let your passion die, those who care will recognize it.
That's basically the conclusion I put at around 28:48, but you really formulated it nicely. Cheers
Eassae, I found you channel due to the Dragon Quest VII analysis. I understand the frustration you carry with effort not equating results as you visualize it. I appreciate allá the effort you put on your scripts, I've been listening to your DQ VII videos lately as I prepare for work. It's a moment of respite I get from all the comings and goings of each day. I also appreciate that you're someone who takes a deep dive on the themes of a franchise that has a message that a lot of people may be very well need to hear nowadays: The importance of legacy, family and parenthood and the positive connections we can build with those concepts. I hope you keep making the content you enjoy the most. Be well.
Amazing video man, ive been trying to plau all mainline dragon quest games before 12 comes out and have been suffering through the terrible guides in all of them, it feels weirdly validating to see someone else mad a how terrible the English resources are And for what its worth i think people dont really care how hard challenge runs are, just that they make you play the game in a different/ interesting way, the most popular challenge on UA-cam is the pokemon nuzlocke and its pitifully easy but theres an entire community around it still because it has an unique playstyle and makes you see the game through a different lens
@@shury4260 It's true that people don't care all that much about the challenge, but the playthrough here was so easy that it didn't really allow for much interesting gameplay. There were like 3-4 aha moments, but that was all. I could have played up finding out about kaclang or sth and described the struggle against garboyle in excruciating detail, but that one as well as almost all the strats here were ones I already covered before. I guess it's not that it was too easy, but more that it felt redundant because it was so easy that I didn't end up innovating all that much
I watched your entire Dragon Quest 7 playlist multiple times. I was waiting for someone who cared about the game as much as me to cover it in depth, but your videos showed a different perspective on the game that I never thought about. I knew the game was related to religion heavily, but not to that level. It may not have many views, but it had alot of heart. The UA-cam grind is tuff especially when you want to make more indepth content that takes time to prepare. I've struggled with it myself. I say this to say keep grinding man I don't think it's over for content like this it just takes longer for it to connect. I made a Grandia video that stopped gaining views around 130 after the first week. I poured months into making it. Then after almost a year it starting gaining views almost over 2 thousand and positive comments came flooding in. It just takes time with content like this I'm sure yours will grow fast at a point especially with this quality.
I appreciate the character arc in the video lol it was fun.
ive definitely seen the videos youre talking about in my suggestions but thankfully your in-depth guide class guide piqued my interest first due to its length and frankly it just gave the vibe that you better knew what you were talking about from the thumbnail, the actual content of the video made it clear that you did. i hope you get some more viewers and appreciate the vids!
Wow I can't believe the bones of baramos was truly no way no how impossible, hope zoma gave that guy a pay rise
(In all seriousness great video, been enjoying the content. I like that youtube ethos)
You are related to Arnold Schwarzenegger?
very cool challenge!
I have an argument for using them once everyone is at their final vocations you want to use, and at level cap. Then you dont waste seeds, if the characters hit a stat cap before leveling all the way up. I focused on my hero with all of them, and my hero got HP capped at around level 65 I believe. That is a good amount of HP seeds that could have been fed to someone else, and my hero could have still hit HP cap naturally it seems like.
My all time favorite game, just a shame they did the remake on the soon to be phased out 3ds. I'm awaiting the day they release it for pc where I can play it fully uncensored and in a non grainy pixelated look.
i will definitely never be replaying DQ7 ever again
good video so far but the audio quality could be improved
yeah, my audio used to be crap. I had basically no clue back then. Bit of a shame since the actual info is good, but the editing/audio editing is so terrible that these older vids don't hold up in the slightest
I've restarted the game after reaching Romaria to tweak my starting team to better reflect on what my end team would be. My companions are a Thief, Priest, and Mage, with my Thief going to become a Sage and Mage going to become a Warrior. I'm torn between setting my Priest to a Martial Artist or a Monster Wrangler, as I do want to conveniently collect those friendly monsters and have a reliable attacker.
Awesome vid! It details things other videos don't even bother to or think about. I wish I was taking notes from the beginning. Even a (relatively) short write-up of this info would be valuable information.
i only made it 9 minutes into the video before i realised i should have been taking notes and should start over lol. there is allot of good information packed into this i wish i had the chance to see this video before playing through the game. there is so much to consider vs what i knew about Dragon warrior 3 from the NES.
Is there a way to get Bat out of Hell on the hero at the start of the game?
@@CriPPleR_HD nope
@ thanks for the quick reply. Might have to go Paragon then. I beat the game with Clown and it was fine, but my hero became an item bot by the end of the game, starting a new play though soon. My first play through I beat the super boss in 8 turns. Hero with snooze item, Sage with dupe hat and snooze, thief with Peruscutter and falcon blade worked extremely well. Great guide, learned a lot that I will take into my next play though!
