Tyvek vs Everbilt house wrap comparison test - Remodels by Leo
Переглядів 3,9 тис.Рік тому
I’m in the house wrapping stage on a build and I wanted to see the difference in Tyvek and Everbilt products. Reasoning behind it was that Everbilt material was very readily available at a low price but Tyvek was sold out at double the price. I wanted to see if the chase was worth the effort.

    I get these as well in front left during hot weather. Wasn't sure which bushing/joint was making noises so just sprayed water on all off them and it's quiet for now

    When you add siding or something else you are adding tons of holes and they are not taped??.

    • @Remodelsbyleo
      @Remodelsbyleo Місяць тому

      Yes, siding nails will still make holes in the house wrap. The siding will overlap so water shouldn’t get in those holes. Also, if you count the sq ft of surface area that the house wrap covers vs the sq ft of the nail holes, it’s still going to make a lot of sense to wrap the house prior to siding.

    Thankyou for this video. I was getting a similar issue with my furnace this evening. After checking the exhaust vent as that's what several google searches turned up for a probable issue with mine I stumbeled across your video. Took the vaccum lines off, cleaned them and re-installed and the furnace fired right up! Thanks again!!

    My exact problem twice now in 2 years took a hair comb with metal point end and bent it to gain aces to that nipple end and push it in and something gave debris or something and then my unit started working again.

      I should add I had the same 3 blinks indicating a pressure switch stuck open but it was something inside the end of the blower exhaust fan where the hose connects.

    Awesome video, woke up this morning to a cold house 59 degrees, blowing into the switch was all it took, did not have to go as far as trying to use the paperclip for blockage, service call on a Sunday would have been pricey.

    I tried jumping mine like you did, but furnace never kicked on. I checked for anything plugged up and was all clear. So could the pressure switch be bad?

    • @Remodelsbyleo
      @Remodelsbyleo 5 місяців тому

      Unlikely. First off, are you getting any flashes on the motherboard?

    • @TheAusherGuy
      @TheAusherGuy 5 місяців тому

      @@Remodelsbyleo yes three flashes

    • @Remodelsbyleo
      @Remodelsbyleo 5 місяців тому

      @@TheAusherGuy ok, if three flashes on your unit indicate that the pressure switch is stuck closed, you’d need to remove the jumper pin. If three flashes indicate that the pressure switch is stuck open, then you could use the pin to jump the two wires. Do you hear the pressure switch cycling when you suck and blow on the hose? Are you absolutely sure that the orifice is clean?

    • @TheAusherGuy
      @TheAusherGuy 5 місяців тому

      @@Remodelsbyleo sucking and blowing in the line I can hear the pressure switch clicking like it's working. I tried to jump the two wires and furnace wouldn't kick on and motherboard still flashed 3 times. I blew in the lines to see if they were clogged and where they plug into was clogged, but it all seemed clear. I reamed out the holes with wire too. Did everything you did in the video and furnace still didn't kick on. Thank you for the responses and help.

    Thanks for the video. I’ve had this problem too and have been clearing like you demonstrated by blowing/sucking on the hose that connected to the pressure switch. My problem seems to happen on windy days. I’ll have to try cleaning out the inside.

    • @Remodelsbyleo
      @Remodelsbyleo 5 місяців тому

      We have also noticed that the orifice seems to get clogged by the build up when we go without using the furnace. Perhaps cleaning inside of the motor housing and ensuring that orifice stays clean would help.

    I'll add my thank you's to all the others. Just at dark on a cold Saturday we noticed the house getting cold. I knew it probably wasn't serious but didn't know where to start. Your video was exactly what I needed. I followed the steps, put the hose back on, flipped the switch back on, the flashing code went off and the furnace fired right up. You showed and explained everything perfectly. Thanks so much!
