Hello. I am an Indian citizen. My Husband is portuguese citizen since he is from a place which was a Portuguese Colony before. So he is portuguese citizen for about 8 years now. We got married in India in 2020 December and have kids. So our marriage is more than 3 years now. But we haven't yet registered our marriage in Portugal and neither we have lived in Portugal. As the main requirement for this article mentioned in AIMA website states "Proof of legal and uninterrupted residence in national territory for the five years immediately prior to submitting the application". My mother both grand parents were born in Italy in 1900, and got married in Italy, and moved abroad in 1920. My mother was born abroad in 1947. She told me that she does not have right of due citizenship because in 1947 did not exist in Italy a law that allowed due citizenship. This law was approved after she was born. Is this correct?
