Over 4 years have passed since my last solo flatland edit, “Eventually.” Since then, the journey that I have undergone can be seen through the concepts of “Too Close To See.” Through battles with depression and creative frustration, I have never felt more limited in my own vision and understanding of my direction. In fact, it was precisely that limitation that allowed for this video to be made....

      Thanks! Yeah, unicycling is a very physically demanding sport, especially when it comes to cardio and fast twitch actions. I personally don't do any other sports, but any kind of long/high jumping advantages I have are probably from unicycling haha

      @@sebastiansullivan4770 Yeah! I started picking up skateboarding a few years ago and it’s super fun to learn. I learned alongside a friend (with no unicycle experience) and we progressed at pretty much the same rate. I think this is mainly due to how complex of a sport skating is compared to the brute strength of a high jump or something similar. This is probably more scientific data than you’re asking for, but it’s true haha 🤣

      @@scottyjulian Can ask for some tips on coasting? I noticed you hold and press down the seat for that. When I coast, most of the time the tyre just rolls forward while I drop behind. Other times, I stop immediately to a halt and drop in front

    • @scottyjulian
      @scottyjulian 10 днів тому

      @@jokersingam I assume you're trying to do just one foot coasts? (sitting down on the seat with one foot on the frame and the other dangling off the unicycle). For that type of coast my only tip is to go into one foot until your foot that's pedaling has just a light touch on the pedal. That way, when you release, you will already be balanced for the coast. That being said, I'm not very good at that type of coast. I never much had the patience for it haha. The type of coast I did in this video is called a forward scuff coast. I think generally people find that coast harder to do because of the weight distribution of the seat in front of you.

      Just go outside, grab a fence, mount it and try to get a half pedal forward without holding on to the fence, then repeat until you can do it consistently, then master a full turn, then 2. It's quite easy of you just work consistently, progressively, a few minutes a day. After some months it will come to you on it's own. Hope you try and have fun!

    Yes Scott"y" loved this as always! The lighting in the basement with the sun coming through is a real treat, what a great place to have to ride when you're at your parents place. I really love how your scuff coasts are coming along, so nice! This back story stuff for certain tricks is golden mate, getting Andy Anderson vibes from your content workflow of late. (Huge complement because he is brilliant...) Can't wait to keep following your journey of riding, growing as a unicyclist, human and filmmaker. 🥰

    I love these dude. Getting to see your insane riding and your personality and back story behind the tricks and your riding is such a treat. Thank you. Please keep making these. It's motivating me to make videos too. Also, I have similar sentiment with the 32H. It's way less stable for tricks in general but it flips and spins like a beast. Some tricks are actually easier on my super heavy 48H because of that gained stability with the weight. Overall I ride the 32H because it's just more fun to toss around, and is especially fun for big flips.

I wasn’t sure if it was all in my head or if there was a real difference. I’m with you though, riding 32H setups is such a blast. Being able to rip quads like they’re nothing is a crazy feeling.

      I think the Fifth Overflip was the biggest "grind" of a trick to get. I had already landed it once before, so I was surprised to see how long it took me to land it again for this video. Other than that trick, it was probably the hick over treyflip (fifth middleflip?) at 4:24. There's so much going on in that trick that I started to lose the mental battle with it. Eventually I got it and Levi was patient enough to film it twice haha
