I'm excited to watch along as you open this year's box. It was a ton of fun last year hearing the results of your research, seeing the yarn spun, and watching your coat grow. I hope you enjoy the mini stockings as a bit of a quicker knit than the coat. It would be fun to see your non advent projects but if you only have energy for the once a year intensity of these daily posts I'll keep enjoying the advent videos!

Oh my goodness..I think I'm going to need to make some batts with some of my BFL & Shetland from my sheep...and I never thought of adding Sari silk to those 2 fibers, but I happen to have A lot of Sari silk! Jess, I'm so glad I found your Advent spins.. you have done a great job from day 1, but I see an improvement in your videos each day! Kudos to you! I'm excited to see that finished coat! 😊

Wow, what an interesting tradition! As my house is full of arachnophobes, I don't think we'll be adopting this tradition for ourselves, lol. But it was so fun to learn about, and what gorgeous yarn to go with it! It reminds me of a woodland forest on a misty morning.

Lol...Blue Faced Leicester (pronounced like Nester..with an L) we have 2 BFL sheep and 12 Shetlands (+several other breeds) in our flock of 30. That's a beautiful fiber.

Pōhutukawa is the NZ Christmas tree. It flowers bright red during Nov-Jan (hence the name!). We are fortunate to have a huge tree in our yard that our mother planted when she first came to our farm in 1922. Since we don’t have snow at Christmas (being summer here), when the flowers drop (they are filaments, like bottle-brushes), we call it red snow!
