WW1 prominently had black soldiers who fought in the Great war, from France, Britain and the US. And at least 15,000 served in the His Majesty the Kings Army.

Watching this at the Cinemas when it first came out made me literally sob
He thought he died and went to heaven. Only to realize he's still alive, and everyone around him will march into their deaths if he doesn't hurry. One of my favorite films ever.
