6:13 "Slab-off is always base up." -- But what if you have minus lenses? Seems to me with minus lenses, slab off would be base down.
8:47 "This actually causes the prescription to get weaker, which means the patient would see a BIGGER image . . " -- I think you mispoke. With minus lenses, as you move the lens further away from the eye, the patient perceives a SMALLER image.
2:55 Plus or minus 7. What about SPH -5.50 CYL -1.50? If you add them up, you get -7.00. Would vertex distance matter in that particular case?
Is meridian and axis the same thing?
this video seems for those already have knowledge.
Good example thank you can you give us more examples please
Why use 50 percent ?
Thank u so much!
the correct answer is 70 mm cause we add 2 mm
I finally understand. Thank you so much for your video
fajne :D
what would you then put as the cylinder power and axis after determining the sphere power in any requested meridian?
12:00 how do you determine the percentage of cyl to use for examples at a different axis? Thank you for this video, very informative!!
You need to use "Power in Oblique Meridians Formula". Laramy-K Optical UA-cam Channel has a video on that. Let's say your prescription is SPH -5.00 CYL -0.50 AXIS 40. 40 is 50 degrees away from 90. You take the sine of 50 degrees and then square that. Sine of 50 degrees is 0.766. The square of that is 0.586. Multiply that with CYL -0.50 and you get -0.293. Add that to SPH -5.00 and you get -5.29.
Thank you for this video. Very good explanation.
Hi Why are not not uploading videos?
great video! very detailed
great examples. is it possible to get an emailed copy of the practice workbook you're referencing to?
If your left eye is 2.00 vertical up, but your right eye has no prism issue, is it better for optical vision to split the prism over 2 eyes or just put 2.00 up in the left eye? Also will one help prevent prism getting worse over time than the other? Thanks
if you just putting 2D up on LE will cause vertical diplopia on LE , normally splitting prism is for cosmetic purpose
Aree sir writing improve karlo..
👍
I can’t thank you enough for posting these videos.
U didn't xplained either base up,down ,in out.
