Your video was the most helpful I’ve seen when dealing with this situation. Other videos made it look easy, but you set realistic expectations: it is time consuming. I do have a Ford with baked-in stripes which are now cracked and unsightly. Hopefully, I can remove them in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your video.
@genef2988 You're very welcome and glad that it will help. I did mine over a good period of time, just to keep my sanity. 😆It is a very tedious job, but it is completely doable. Good luck! 👍
Thanks for sharing, I bought a second hand car and 60% of the body is covered with vynl which is wearing off and changing colour. I got a quotation for paint respraying but is very expensive I'm definitely going to use your method to remove the vynl
I don't understand why you would heat up decal with hair dryer and then cool it off by spraying that goo be gone on top of it, doesn't it defeat the purpose of heating the decal? I thought the goo be gone is to remove the adhesive residue left behind?
I got a dodge challenger and the vinyl strips are the same as yours so I'm going through trying to find and easier way to remove the strips. I am not looking forward to this job.
Rocky, Thanks so much for the video. I'm facing the same installation on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Eco Diesel, using the Curt 13392 receiver. I'm also installing a Mopar OEM trailer harness which looks like a fairly involved job. Did you install a wiring harness? The Mopar factory bracket for the plug sockets need to install somewhere I'm not sure about. Cutting the Curt and DEF tank skid is no problem for me, just wondering now about the wiring plug bracket.
@@rockyjl8152 okay and thanks for the response. Looking at your video, it doesn't appear the frame has the two factory mount holes for the plug socket bracket on the driver side, probably due to the presence of the DIF tank skid mount shield and bolts. On your jeep, does there appear to be a couple of drilled holes in the frame bottom to the right of the receiver? Reason for asking is my jeep is not here yet and I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row.
I’m doing it’s the same on my Mini Cooper. Exact same way, saw your video when I was looking for a faster way. Happy I’m not the only one doing it like this. God Bless
@@waynejordan7473 I had three stripes on the hood of my Mini Cooper. It took me half a day to get them off and it didn’t come off that clean. They were really burned into the surface of the paint. After cleaning the affected areas the best I could with solvent. I used fine sand paper and sanded where the stripes were to get as smooth as I could without totally going through the paint. I applied my new stripes in about an hour and a half. They came out pretty good. I used a slightly wider stripe to cover past the edges of the old stripes. God Bless and good luck
Of the dozen or so videos I've watched this is the only one so far that dealt with my exact situation !! My Mustang is an '06 and as far as I know the stripes have been there the whole time. They are baked !! Thanks for this vid !! Obviously time consuming but I think this is the way to go !!

I think the point of heating it up is to try unbake it from the paint

Most helpful video I've seen in a long time

Hi Daryl, Sorry can't help you with the wiring. I never installed it. Hope you find someone who can help.

Much appreciated and glad to be of some help.
Very helpful using this technique on my 66 mustang this weekend
What’s the tool called
This is possibly the coolest video I have ever seen
Thanks! Have the same problem on my 2011 and have tried almost everything, now time to try this lol
The camera man sacrificed his life to film the driver performing this beginner climb. Murder hornets we're seen in the immediate area.
Dude that driver is a stud but the camera man is p...y! Scared of a bumble bee😅😂😅
Loved it
