Damn, JC...one of the greatest baritone voices I have ever heard!

I have to say, i don't like this version. JC toned down his vocals on his strong high notes, the most powerful parts of the song, which evoke the most emotion from the listener, the crowd , everyone. I feel like he's being muted in a way. I appreciate that they tried something different, letting all the guys be heard (they are obviously all amazing singers,) but this song should have been JC's moment to shine. He has the perfect voice for this ballad, and it was his full circle moment with Richard Marx, whose songs he sang before Nsync, and who wrote this song for Nsync, because JC would knock it out of the park. Even the original, I don't like Justin's parts. He sings beautifully, but I wish there was a recording of just JC singing the main parts with the guys supporting with their amazing harmonies. It's JC's VOICE and the passion and emotion he puts into it every single time, sending chills through us. There, I said it. And not to take away from anyone in the band, which I love them all together, the 5 of them are NSYNC forever. But they themselves established the two most main lead singers, and I just look at "This I Promise You" as a JC song. (Ok and all of their ballads and probably more, but this is my opinion so there.) And don't attack me, because look at "Gone" on their very next album, all Justin, while everyone is just sitting in the background. That song was Justin's 2 weeks notice that he was leaving Nsync. He was gone and never looked back. The "Celebrity" era pushed Justin Justin Justin Justin Justin Justin ALL the time in the media and radio, everything we saw back then, it was all Justin after that, that's all we heard about. Pushed by the record label and media.

This is the first time I've heard the sound engineers properly balance all the vocal parts for NSYNC. They usually make Chris' or JC's mic too loud during the pure a capella parts. It ends up drowning or Joey who I usually can't hear well. Can't leave a comment without praising the legend JC of course. Greatest tragedy in the history of music that he hasn't put out another album.
