    why the ratio differs in preparing lipbalm for wax:butter:oil, for commercial purpose selling in india what is the best ratio to be maintained for lipbalm chapstick and small container. if i want to make cocoa lipbalm, what cocoa powder should i use at what temperature to the oil and butter

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 4 дні тому

      Thank you for asking The wax : butter : oil ratio in lip balm formulations can vary depending on the desired texture and firmness. For commercial purposes, a common ratio used is 1:1:2 (wax : butter : oil) for chap sticks (firmer texture) and 1:1:3 for small container balms (softer texture). However, this may need adjustment based on climate conditions in India-higher wax content helps prevent melting in warmer areas. For a cocoa lip balm, you can use natural, unsweetened cocoa powder for a mild chocolate scent or cocoa absolute for a stronger aroma. When incorporating cocoa powder, mix it with the oil phase and gently heat to around 50-60°C to ensure even blending without degrading its properties.

      @@diy.personalcare Thankyou for your reply. Could you please give me the percentage of butter:oil:wax for indian climatic condiction for preparing lipbalm for commercial purpose. I want to be firmer and slight creamy. could you please provide me the percentage for both chapsticks and container balms.

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 3 дні тому

      For Indian climatic conditions, where higher temperatures can soften lip balms, you'll need a firmer formula. Here are recommended ratios: 1. For Chapsticks (Firmer Texture) Wax: 30-35% (Beeswax or Candelilla Wax for a vegan option) Butter: 20-25% (Shea, Cocoa, or Mango Butter) Oil: 40-50% (Coconut, Almond, or Jojoba Oil) 2. For Container Balms (Slightly Creamier) Wax: 20-25% Butter: 25-30% Oil: 45-55% You can adjust the wax percentage slightly based on your exact climate and preference. If you want an even creamier feel, consider adding a little Vitamin E or lanolin for extra softness. Hope this helps! 😊 have a nice day

    Can i infuse dry rose petals or dry beetroot in the oil for a day or week, so the colour fragrance might infuse into it. I want to make the lipbalm natural without using the fragrance and colour. How to make it please

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 4 дні тому

      Yes, you can infuse dried rose petals or dried beetroot in oil for a more natural approach. However, keep in mind that beetroot infusion may not provide a strong or stable color in lip balm. Here’s how you can do it: 1. Rose Petal Infusion: Use a gentle carrier oil like sweet almond or jojoba oil. Let the dried petals infuse in the oil for 1-2 weeks in a warm, dark place, shaking occasionally. This will enhance the natural scent. 2. Beetroot Infusion: Since beetroot powder is water-soluble, infusing it in oil for color doesn’t work well. Instead, try an oil maceration method by gently heating the oil with beetroot powder at 40-50°C for a few hours, then straining it. For a truly natural lip balm, you can also use cocoa butter, shea butter, or unrefined beeswax, which add a light fragrance and nourishment. Hope that helps👍 have a nice day 🤩

    Sorry for asking lot of doubts mam Is Iscaguard PEG is natural or synthetic Mam ? And why some are using high molecular weight hyaluronic acid in preparing aloe gel

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 4 дні тому

      No worries! I am happy to reply wherever I can Iscaguard PEG is a synthetic preservative blend containing polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivatives. It's widely used in cosmetic formulations for its effective antimicrobial properties. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid forms a protective film on the skin, helping to retain moisture and create a smooth, gel-like texture. It’s ideal for hydrating and soothing the skin, making it a beneficial addition to aloe vera gels Hope that helps ☺️

    Mam how to find out the percentage of the ingredients to be used ? Example: For this much percentage aleovera (200x) this much water percentage How to learn about the percentage mam so that it will be useful to convert tp respective grams for formulating I want to prepare initially with 100g or 500g of aleo vera using aloe vera (200x) powder, deionized water, xanthum gum, glycerin, liquid germalls plus or geogard ect, essential oil and TEA

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 4 дні тому

      1. You can calculate the percentage of ingredients using the formula in my previous reply 2. 200x means it is 200 times more concentrated than fresh aloe vera gel or juice. It is made by dehydrating aloe vera juice, removing the water, and leaving only the active components in a highly concentrated powder form. To return it to its original aloe vera juice form, you must dilute it with water: 1g of 200x aloe vera powder = 200g of aloe vera juice So, for every 1g of powder, you need 199g of water to make 100% aloe vera liquid. Hope you can calculate the percentage of all the ingredients using these details. Please feel free to ask in case you have any further questions Happy formulating 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

      @@diy.personalcare Thanks for these amazing replies Mam. How did you calculated 850ml of water for 10g aloe mam. From your calculation of gram ingredients i have calculated to percentage mam. Please check and tell me its correct or wrong. DM water = 95.5% Aloe powder = 1.12% Carbomer = 1.12% Glycerin = 2.24% Propylene glycol = 1.12% Total i got 101.1% Mam Should i bring it to 100% and stay with 101% From these percentage shall i convert to the respective batches i need ? From where to learn about these percentages use in formulations mam ?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 3 дні тому

      Great question! Actually as you noticed earlier my total amount comes to about 900g plus. So the calculation will be as follows: DM Water = (850 ÷ 900) × 100 = 94.4% Aloe Vera Powder = (10 ÷ 900) × 100 = 1.1% Carbomer = (10 ÷ 900) × 100 = 1.1% Glycerin = (20 ÷ 900) × 100 = 2.2% Propylene Glycol = (10 ÷ 900) × 100 = 1.1% Total = 99.9% (which is close enough to 100%) This 99.9% calculation was made without considering the preservative. Typically, preservatives make up around 0.5% to 1% of the formula, depending on the specific preservative you are using and its recommended usage rate. After including the preservative, you can adjust the rest of the ingredients to bring the total back to 100%. Once you have the correct percentages, you can multiply them by the total batch size you need. You can check following books 1. Handbook of Cosmetic Science and Technology" - Edited by André O. Barel, Marc Paye, and Howard I. Maibach 2. Cosmetic Formulation: Principles and Practice" - Gabriella Baki, Kenneth Alexander There are also online courses from Formula Botanica and other cosmetic science platforms. Hope that helps😊👍 Have a nice day 🤩

    • @diy.personalcare

      Yes, essential oils have natural scents that can enhance your product’s fragrance. However, they are usually milder than fragrance oils and can fade over time. Yes, without added essential or fragrance oils, your product will have the natural scent of its ingredients, which is fine for personal use. But for commercial product, its better to have some fragrance

    Thankyou so much for this video. Am about to start my small business and i have some doubts 1. Does the final product made gives 1000g aloe vera ? Because you have mentioned formulation for 1000g aleo vera gel 2. How to calculate for 1000g Mam ? Because the quantity which you gave totals up 890g. How to calculate the percentage given for preservatives and essential oil to grams for 1000g 3. Can i convert the given values gram values to percentage so that i can convert it for respective grams batch i want 4. What kind of natural essential oil can i use for aloe vera gel Mam ?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 4 дні тому

      Thank you for your question ☺️and best of luck with your business! 🥰 👍 1. The final product should add up to 900g plus. 2. To calculate for 1000g, you can use percentages. If a preservative is 1% in a 1000g batch, that means you need 10g of it. Divide each ingredient's weight by the total weight and multiply by 100 to get the percentage. 3. Yes! You can convert the given values to percentages and then scale them for any batch size. Just use this formula: (Ingredient weight ÷ Total batch weight) × 100 = Percentage Then, for a new batch size:(Percentage ÷ 100) × New batch weight = New ingredient weight 4. You can use essential oils like lavender, tea tree, chamomile, or frankincense for their skin-soothing properties. Choose based on your skin type and preferences. How that helps 😊

      Hi Thank you for watching and for your question! The shelf life of an air freshener gel made with water, gelatin, and essential oil can vary. Without preservatives, it typically lasts around 1 to 3 months, as the water and gelatin can provide a breeding ground for bacteria and mold over time. It’s ideal for making gels like this because it dissolves well and provides good clarity. • @diy.personalcare

      Glad you liked it. 💕 Thank you for asking. 😍 1. If you are adding Rosemary extract and Leucidal Liquid SF, then it's not necessary to keep in the fridge. It will stay fresh for at least 12 months. 2. If you are not adding any preservative, in that case yes you will need to keep in the fridge. It's shelf life will be roughly 1-2 weeks depending on various factors as purity of water, sterility of containers used etc. Hope that helps😊 Have a nice day 🤩

    • @christinekarras4212

      I only have rosemary. Is that enough?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      Hi again 1. Actually without preservatives if the cream can last for 1 month, it's considered very long. 2. While rosemary extract can help with antioxidant and some antimicrobial properties, it doesn't offer full protection against microbial contamination. 3. If you're using store-bought aloe vera gel in your rice face cream, the shelf life will be slightly longer compared to homemade aloe vera gel, but it still depends on the specific ingredients in the store-bought product. 4. If you want to avoid preservatives entirely, stick to an oil-only formulation (no aloe vera gel) for a more stable product, or make smaller batches to use within a short period. Hope that helps😊 Have a nice day 🤩

      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      Hi! Thank you for watching and trying. Really glad you asked! 👍 1. If you're using the home-based recipe, the separation happens because oil and water don't naturally mix. To help, you can try making gel more thicker and stirring the gel gently before use. 2. If you are using commercial formulation, you can try adding an emulsifier, like Polysorbate 80 or liquid lecithin (in 1:1 ratio) , to the essential oil before mixing it into the gel. Hope that helps😊 Please let me know how it goes or if you have more questions! Have a nice day 😍

      Hi Thank you for your comment! I understand the concern about high production costs. I actually made another video where I demonstrated how to make an economy version of dishwashing liquid that might help reduce expenses. You can check it out here: [.ua-cam.com/video/O5o-c66G8QE/v-deo.htmlsi=Jc94_aCYMiNqxVKz] Also if distilled water feels too expensive, you can also use water from a drinking water filter (like those with reverse osmosis or carbon filters). It’s a cost-effective alternative and works just as well for formulations. Just ensure the water is clean and free from impurities. I hope this helps! 👍 Please feel free to let me know if you have more questions!😊 Have a nice day

      Hi again Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear it ended up being expensive for you. There are few ways to cut costs: 1. Once you are satisfied with the formulation, look for ingredients in bulk or at wholesale prices, as this often reduces the cost per batch. 2. Alternatively, you could try adjusting the formulation slightly to fit your budget while maintaining the effectiveness of the dishwashing liquid. 3. Use filter water in place of distilled water so you don't have to pay for water. Let me know which ingredients are costing the most, and I’ll try to help with some alternatives! Hope that helps😊 Have a nice day

    Thank you for this beautiful video. I have a question. For commercial use, how long does the scent last approximately if I’m placing it in a toilet ?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      Glad you liked it Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments 👌 In general, your air freshener should release fragrance for about 4-6 weeks. For commercial formulation, longevity of your fragrance depends on few factors. To make your air freshener last longer you can adjust the formulation and usage strategy as follows: 1. Use a higher percentage of fragrance oil (e.g., 3-5%) to ensure a prolonged scent. 2. Use a combination of fast-evaporating top notes and slow-evaporating base notes. This creates a sustained fragrance profile over time. 3. Increasing Propylene glycol percentage slightly (e.g., to 3-5%) can improve longevity. 4. Adjust the HPMC/ CMC level to create a thicker gel or a slow-release matrix. 5. Store the air freshener in a container with a small opening or perforated lid to slow down evaporation. Hope that helps😊 Have a nice day 😍

    Hi Friend, today I made a large batch with HPMC and followed the directions of this video and adjust the percentage for the batch. But today a small portion of the gel rose the top and it separated from the liquid . When I remove the top layer of Gel . I noticed another layer of gel on the bottom portion of the container. So there for top layer of gel and liquid in the middle. Do you have any suggestions or ideas why this is happening?? I made sure I added plenty of HPMC and also made sure it was mix properly.

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      @foreman4900 Hey there Welcome back It could be because of a few reasons. Are you using hot water to dissolve HPMC? Below is my reply from 3 days back where I explained the procedure for dissolving HPMC 1. Sprinkle HPMC powder gradually into the water (room temperature) while stirring continuously. 2. Stir with a whisk 3. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour. 4. Once HPMC is hydrated, gradually heat the solution to about 60-70°C (140-158°F) while stirring gently. This activates the HPMC and causes full hydration. 5. Continue stirring until you achieve a smooth, lump-free gel. 6. Once gel is fully formed then you can add remaining ingredients one by one stirring in between Generally HPMC forms a very stable gel. So please make sure to follow the waiting time and stir continuously while heating Hope the helps Have a nice day

    Can add fragrance oil?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      Hi again Yes, you can add fragrance oil to aloe vera gel, but with a few important considerations: 1. Ensure the fragrance oil is specifically labeled as "skin-safe" or "cosmetic grade." 2. Use only a small amount (typically 0.1-0.5%) to prevent any potential irritation 3. Check if the fragrance oil blends well with your formulation. 4. If you're making aloe vera gel for commercial purposes, fragrance oils must be approved for cosmetic use. Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

  • @திறமைக்குமுதலிடம்

    Miss we can add alovera extract 10ml ?

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 2 місяці тому

      Thank you for watching and for your comments 💕 If you want to use Aloe Vera extract please check the label on your aloe vera extract for its concentration ratio. Aloe vera extracts vary widely in concentration (e.g., 10x, 40x, or as a 1:1 liquid extract) 1. If your extract is 1:1 (meaning it's the same as fresh aloe vera juice), that means you can't add any water. Use the extract directly 2. If it’s 10x concentrated, you would need 200ml of extract in 800ml of water 3. If it’s 40x concentrated, you would need 50ml of extract in 950ml of water So it all depends on the concentration of your Aloe Vera extract Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

    Hello we are conducting a research and we decided to create a Citrus aurantifolia (lime) gel air freshener, how can we create a product made out of natural ingredients? we've tried it but the scent doesn't come out at all😭

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 3 місяці тому

      Hi Good to know about your research. 🥰 Thank you for asking. ☺️ You can either use the first recipe which I showed in video or you can use following ingredients 1. Distilled Water: 90% 2. Agar Agar or Carrageenan Powder: 1-2% - A natural gelling agent 3. Essential Oil of Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime): 3-5% - For fragrance. You may adjust this amount depending on your desired scent strength. 4. Natural solubilizer, like Polysorbate 20 or Solubol. These ingredients help essential oils mix into water without separating. For a small batch, try adding 1 part Polysorbate 20 for every 1 part essential oil (a 1:1 ratio) and stir it well before adding to the gel. 5. Natural Preservative: Leucidal Liquid (made from radish root ferment) or Grapefruit Seed Extract. Use according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Instructions 1. Heat the water to around 80-90°C (176-194°F). 2. Slowly sprinkle agar agar or carrageenan powder into the hot water, whisking continuously to dissolve fully. Keep stirring until the mixture is thickened and slightly gel-like. 3. Let the mixture cool slightly 4. Add citrus E.O to equal amount of polysorbate 20 in a separate container 4. Once the gel has cooled to around 40-50°C (104-122°F), add the lime essential oil and solubilizer mix and stir well. 5. Add preservative according to the usage rate. Hope that helps Please feel free to ask in case of any confusion All the best with your project 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

      @diy.personalcare 3 місяці тому

      Hi Thank you for watching and for your comments Yes, you can replace CMC with xanthan gum in your air freshener gel, but there are a few things to consider: 1. Xanthan gum creates a different gel texture compared to CMC. 2. Xanthan gum can sometimes affect the way fragrance is released, so you might need to adjust the concentration of fragrance for optimal scent diffusion. Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

    • @diy.personalcare
      @diy.personalcare 3 місяці тому

      Hi there, hope you are doing well! The scent duration can vary based on several factors: Fragrance Type: Essential oils may not linger as long as synthetic fragrance oils Concentration of Fragrance: A higher concentration of fragrance oil will give a more intense scent that can last longer. Environment: The scent will dissipate faster in larger spaces Typically, air freshener sprays will last 1-3 hours in the air for a moderate fragrance level. Yes, adding an odor neutralizer can help make your air freshener spray more effective by not only masking unwanted odors but also neutralizing them. Yes, you can substitute NP-10 (nonylphenol ethoxylate) with decyl glucoside Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
