GES Introduced Expensive Curriculum; My Brother's Child Will Learn Carpentry Instead
GES Introduces Expensive Curriculum; My Child Will Learn Carpentry
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has recently introduced a new curriculum that is sparking heated debate among parents. Many are expressing concerns about the cost and practicality of the curriculum, which now includes expensive subjects and vocational courses such as carpentry.
Parents feel burdened by the rising costs of education, with the introduction of more hands-on, practical skills that require additional resources, tools, and equipment. "My child will learn carpentry, but at what cost?" asked one worried parent.
While the curriculum aims to equip students with diverse skills to make them more employable, many families are struggling to keep up with the financial demands. Some parents are questioning whether vocational subjects should be introduced at an early age, especially when basic educational needs have not been fully met in several public schools.
The GES, however, maintains that the new curriculum is meant to align students with real-world skills and the growing demand for technical expertise in the job market. Whether or not this approach will benefit students in the long run remains to be seen.

Don't worry. You'll get it sooner than later.
Kofi Should remember that without Ghana Passport, he won’t be able to get access to Netherlands not to even talk about Dutch Passport.
Point of correction, you can rather compare Dutch Passport with Ghana Economy not PHD .
😂😂😂😂

Speak English. Ghanaians can't speak English. Shame on you guys
Please i want someone to take me to the Netherlands so that i can cry over there😢
Your wish has been heard
First of all this is fake, but hw3 aboa bi ba speaking in this video. Not all that GLITTERS IS GOLD, backward thinking from Ghanaians, What opportunity are you talking about exist in NETHERLANDS? GYIMIS3M nkoaa. She can do far better in Ghana than in NETHERLANDS......................
But of course if she does not have anything productive to do then it's better go come back home. Home sweet home 🏡
Her issue isnt about work
Its a cultural shock. We all went through that but managed it differently. I hope she gets some counseling, nurturing and support during this period.
She wouldn't listen to anybody
I understand, that is the manifestation of her feeling right now. These are some suggested steps to support her: Identify with her individuals she holds dear, both in Netherlands and Ghana who will show empathy and engage her to excercise patience. Have a sort of temporal informal agreement, say 3 months and that you will discuss her interest of going to Ghana further after that. Engage her to identify some hobbies she can engage in including the ones that she and the support network can do together. We also understand that the work routine in abroad is intense and overwhelming to the average Ghanaian who are new to such world of work. Let her start some part time job in areas of interest. I believe she may begin to warm herself into her new environment and soon or later succeed and say Dutch Passport is better than a PhD from Legon. 😆 The emphasis should be on more of the doing and not just the telling. I wish I had a direct platform to be part of the team supporting her at this time. Its just a baby steps. Thanks
