Give me more content. My brother had a 350 ci conversion. He also had a 1984 toyota truck with a 300+hp 4.3 v6 conversion . It was crazy.
I’ll drop the motor specs today !
I loved when a quarter ton was this size.

Oldsmobile usually used their own engines during this era. They are different from what would be found in a Chevy. The easiest way to identify an Oldsmobile engine is to look for an oil fill on the front passenger side of the engine. If it is an Oldsmobile 5.0L is is a 307 which is again completely different from a 305 Chevy which is also a 5.0L. Oldsmobile also made a 350 commonly referred to as the Rocket 350. It is important to find out which engine is already in the car. Swapping an Olds 350 into a car with a 307 is pretty much a bolt in affair as would be a Chevy 350 in place of a 305. Swapping from Olds to Chevy is much more involved. More power is cheaper and easier with the Chevy. If it is an overdrive transmission it should be a 200R4 which will bolt to either. If only a 3 speed a transmission swap is in order going from Olds to Chevy. Best advice if it already has an Olds 307 find and rebuild an Olds 350 and drop it in. You’ll have to watch power output if you have an overdrive 200R4 which were notoriously weak with a stock engine. Extra power would probably kill it. The rear end is probably a 7 1/2” 10 bolt GM which also are on the weak side but probably would survive if not beat on too badly. Good luck and have fun.
350 if you want any power
A lot of potential there. I'd be happy with a 305. I think you did great.
The most popular engine from GM is the 350. It has the most parts, the most mods available, it is the most documented engine for repair or rebuild purposes and all of the different variations are covered. But the 305 is an incredible engine as well. It'll never let you down. The 1982-1984 350 blocks were around 160hp and 245Lbs. ft. of torque. The 305 was around 140hp and 210Lbs. ft. But you have the TH200-4R 4-speed auto transmission. You are off to a great start. That is the king of classic transmissions.
That looks like MY old-school car!
For me Is a great car. Not in excellent condition, but a Little bondo on the dashboard, leather around steering wheel, some Chrome trim, the bumper filler and a rear sofà...I have had in Italy an Olds regency diesel in the First 90s burgundy coulours, with leather chesterfield interior, and when I sold It, i gain some Money, and here there werent spare parts (and internet wasnt Born). In Europe your car in that conditions has a value of 15.000 euro.
Delta boy on the risz take care nice ride
