That’s a terrible looking coffin. But for real, what if debris lands ontop of your shelter😮

I see job site safety doesn’t mean anything there. A lifted load should not be moved while hanging on to it, use a tag line.

Everyone talking about debris blocking the exit may not understand that the state state has a good system to register the location so that in the event of a disaster, they know the exact gps coordinates of the lid. You should also have supports and a bottle jack inside for this as well. You have to consider the layout and space management for the rest of your yard as well. You may have or one day want a pool, still have some wide open yard space for hosting events and have to keep the septic area open/clear…Only so many places something like this may practically go but it’s better to have than not have. Danny just came out to my place today and I’m already happy to have found and gotten to know him even before my pending install. I can tell you he’s honest and believes in what he does.

I’ve never understood these. Aren’t these small enough to where the strong winds would carry you out, or at least move you around in that room? (Edit: Assuming of course that the door flew open.)

5 years now and thousands paid as down payment not 1 inch of dirt moved . Lost my money and no shelter. Be sure to have it in writing you can get a refund up to installation. I do not recommend this company at all .

After all the news stories about the woman who drowned in a flooded underground storm shelter in 2015 (in Oklahoma, I think), I began to worry about people sheltering in these. Between the drowning worries and the very real possibility that something heavy would be thrown on top of the shelter's door in a storm, I would be afraid to take shelter in one of these. I see their value if you live in tornado alley, but why not just build a basement with a safe room to begin with?

That lid doesn't look too strong and I doubt those two compression shocks would hold that lid closed if the tornado came directly on top of it. I really like the rest of it.

I'm always surprised by how much junk people worry about bringing into a tornado shelter. You're not in it very long. You don't need pillows and blankets and enough food for a freaking week! Sit down, ride out the storm, pray for the safety of those who didn't make it to a shelter and then open the hatch and climb out and pick up the pieces of what's left of your life. If you're concerned about something heavy landing on top? A hydraulic bottle jack kept inside the shelter will push it open. DON'T FORGET YOUR PETS! Peace ❤️

Keep insurance folders and all important documents in pockets near the front door. For tornado warnings in your area, place pets in portable cages. Lock ornamental birds in smaller cages and cats in a transport box, put a collar on dogs and fasten the leash to it. Clarify in advance with the family who will be carrying what to the tornado shelter when the storm siren sounds the alarm.

I have to give you a thumbs down 👎👎👎👎 for the following reasons. It was a terrible installation. The fill dirt should have been moistened and packed every two feet. This this prevents the whole from sinking. There are NO are ducts. There should be at least 2. Flush mounting of an underground is never recommended for reasons of entrapment and flooding. The ideal setup for this unit should have been to bury it halfway. It should have been away from an existing structure such as your house. You can easily disguise or hide what is left above ground with landscaping or a shed.

I have one Danny installed. Lots of factors y'all don't see. We just used it. A tornado hit, and while we didn't get a direct hit, we got the winds. You work with what you have. We have obstacles all over the neighborhood. I'll take my chances at surviving the guillotine glass flying around, underground. I am 150% satisfied with our shelter.
