Well, it depends what you mean. There are a lot of people online who ship Robespierre and SJ. Their alleged relationship was a trope used by the Thermidorians to effeminate and discredit them, so even if someone ships them, I think it's important to be careful not to repeat the same homophobic propagandist claims the Thermidorians made about them.

La pièce est beaucoup plus correcte historiquement. C'est très dommage que Wajda a changé tellement de choses dans son film...

Actually, Wajda's film 'Danton' with Depardieu was inspired by Stanisława Przybyszewska's play called 'The Danton Case"! :-)

Btw loved the video, made me laugh a ton Apparently he would also occasionally dine and get drunk with Marat. Marat knew that Robespierre had a weak stomach, (especially after drinking copious amounts of alcohol) and would decapitate a live chicken in front of him (with a mini guillotine Robes sliced oranges with), sending Robespierre retching from the dining room. Hope this is true because it would be a pretty amusing anecdote and gives him more personality. I wonder what his laugh sounded like. Anyways, thanks again for your great info and video!

@@flo-zy1zu Robespierre used to drink a lot of alcohol but stopped after realizing that it’ll make him talk about things he shouldn’t. He most likely watered down his wine. During the last few months of his life, he resorted to drinking water because he was paranoid about everything he did. (Charlotte Robespierre writing about her brother’s diet: some fruit, a little wine, etc) The decapitating chicken: Title: May 06- Robespierre (By medadvocates.org) Unfortunately I can’t add the actual link. Again, the anecdote may or may not be truthful, but it does have quite some familiar ties with the personality of Robespierre. If you have any trouble finding the site, please tell me! :)

@@Leon-cd3fg Hmm, interesting! Because, as far as I know, he had never actually "drunk a lot". In his biographies, I've read that during his early adulthood while at the Rosati, his peers used to make fun of him (and even writing poets about it, haha!) for not drinking alcohol at all. But I'll gladly check out your sources as there's always something one doesn't know! Thank you! And I'll DEFINITELY check that chicken one, I hope it is true as it's just too funny!
